Aoostar mini PC drops in price with 6850H and 24GB RAM outperforming Raspberry Pi
Aoostar's running a deal on a mini PC built around AMD's Ryzen 7 Pro 6850H, bundled with 24GB of LPDDR5-6400MHz RAM and Radeon 680M integrated graphics. The chassis measures 5×5×2.4 inches and packs USB4, HDMI, DisplayPort, dual 2.5Gb Ethernet ports, plus dual PCI-E 4x4 M.2 slots for storage expansion.

This setup earns a 7 out of 10. The 6850H was mid-tier silicon back in 2022—adequate for a mini PC today but nothing special. The 24GB of soldered LPDDR5-6400 memory can't be upgraded, though the high frequency keeps daily tasks smooth. The 680M handles CS2 at low settings around 60fps, but forget running AAA titles at playable framerates.
The machine wasn't designed for gaming anyway. Office work, streaming video, torrent seeding, NAS duty—it covers those bases. Dual M.2 slots support RAID configurations, and the dual 2.5Gb Ethernet ports work for soft router setups. The 5-inch footprint fits in a backpack without the bulk of half-meter ITX cases.
A Raspberry Pi 5 at this price point gives you 4GB of RAM and ARM architecture, which struggles with Docker workloads. Aoostar's x86 platform sidesteps compatibility headaches—Windows and Linux install without fuss. The WiFi 6 module comes standard, no need for USB adapters. The catch: no storage included, so you'll need to buy an M.2 SSD separately. A 1TB drive runs about $50, not a dealbreaker.
This is a tinkerer's box. If you just want to browse and stream, buy a laptop. But if you need a 24/7 server or want to run a Jellyfin media center, this machine undercuts the Raspberry Pi on value. Just don't expect it to double as a gaming rig—that's not what it's built for.
