4 Major Titles Cracked in 4 Days! Is "Red Desert"'s Encryption Useless?

I personally give this cracking operation a solid seven out of ten. The technical prowess is indeed impressive, but it doesn't necessarily enhance the player experience. Twenty years ago, we hoped for cracks; nowadays, players care more about stable online functionality. While this virtual machine technology is impressive, it essentially just bypasses encryption layer detection. To put it plainly, this is just a game of cat and mouse between hackers and the officials.

On March 30th, the cracking group announced they had breached four encrypted games. The latest version of "Red Desert," with sales exceeding three million, was no exception. Even "Resident Evil: Requiem," which had just added a photo mode, was cracked. This speed reminds one of the moment a pirated disc was inserted into the console during the PS1 era. But having said that, games nowadays lose some of their fun without online verification.

They utilized virtual machine technology to render the defense system ineffective. They claimed the crack was intended to prove that even with maximum defense efforts, it couldn't be stopped. This provocative tone closely resembles that of an anonymous hacker uploading torrents on a forum. Unfortunately, single-player games are becoming increasingly rare, making this victory somewhat hollow. The "Mega Man Meteor Collection" was cracked just days after release, indicating vulnerabilities in the mechanism.

Console manufacturers announced global price hikes due to cost pressures, tightening players' budgets. The circulation of cracked resources on major overseas forums and websites is an inevitable outcome. Players have seen too many AAA titles of the year fail, so they remain skeptical about new games. Encryption being cracked is no longer news; the real news is how many people will pay for the genuine version. The moment I completed the game, I sat in my chair without moving for about two minutes.
