*Tears of the Kingdom* Link DX Figure Now Available for Pre-Order — Is It Worth 819 Yuan?
The merchandise market for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has just received another powerful boost, and this time taking the starting position is a new entry in Good Smile Company's figma line — "figma Link Tears of the Kingdom Ver. DX Edition." The product is now available for pre-order through channels such as Hobby Genki, priced at $119.96, or about 819 RMB, with shipping expected on October 31. For players who love Link and prefer highly articulated collectibles, this is clearly not just a static keepsake meant to sit in a display cabinet.

The core appeal of this DX version closely matches the spirit of Tears of the Kingdom itself: lots of gear, freedom in how it can be used, and plenty of room for dynamic action poses. The figure stands about 150 mm tall and is covered in articulation points. The official concept is also very clear — to let players recreate all kinds of poses from exploration, combat, and ability activation. Three interchangeable face plates are included: standard, smiling, and shouting. Combined with the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, Paraglider, Zonai Bow, and an Ascend effect part, it basically packs the game’s most iconic action language into one box.

More importantly, this DX version is not simply a case of “a few extra weapons.” The set also includes the Traveler’s Shield, Rock Hammer, Rauru’s right arm, as well as dynamic display accessories like rocket effect parts and Ascend effect parts. It even comes with dedicated connectors for fixing the shield and bow in place, clearly designed with photography, posing, and long-term display in mind. For figma collectors, details like these are like suspension tuning on a race car — they may not seem like the biggest selling point on the surface, but once you actually use it, they directly determine the upper limit of the experience.

From a collector’s perspective, 819 RMB is not cheap, but it is hardly unreasonable either. The reason is that this is a fully painted articulated figure based on the Tears of the Kingdom design, and both the accessory density and play value clearly lean toward a true DX-tier release. This figure was sculpted by Shinji Koshinuma of Max Factory, with cooperation from Masaki Apsy, and that production pedigree adds a great deal of confidence to the product. If all you want is a simple “Link statue,” there are more budget-friendly options on the market; but if what you are after is recreating in-game actions and frequently changing up the display, the strengths of the figma line are extremely straightforward.

My buying advice is also very clear: hardcore Tears of the Kingdom players, figma series fans, and people who enjoy photographing figure dioramas should consider locking in a pre-order sooner rather than later. If you care more about value for money, or have limited display space, it would be best to first assess whether you would really make use of this rich set of accessories. The gaming merchandise market is increasingly starting to resemble the segmented track of high-performance cars — character popularity alone is no longer enough. What truly wins over players’ wallets comes down to articulation design, accessory completeness, and depth of play. At least on paper, this Link DX Edition has already prepared a very compelling list of reasons to buy.
