Pegasus Charge! Nudinou Breaks Through in Fire Emblem: Engage
Fire Emblem: Myriad Threads Reveals Nudinu, a Flying-Camel Mercenary Who Moves Through Enemy Tiles
Nudinu, the latest mercenary unveiled for Fire Emblem: Myriad Threads, already feels like the most interesting beat in the current drip-feed. Voiced by Saeko Miura, she hails from the Kingdom of Salamis and now sells her blade in Dagsidion. Her kit is the reason to care: she rides a flying-camel mount that ignores terrain obstacles, and her personal skill Forced Breakthrough lets her walk straight through enemy-occupied tiles.
That backstory is pure wandering-swordsman material. She was a model soldier praised even by General Bonaparte, but she left Salamis when civil war broke out years ago, drifted through the Dagaz region, and settled into mercenary work. The official profile frames her less as a hired blade and more as a knight errant: she values justice, cares for her flying camel, trains hard in combat, and reads to unwind.

On the map, the flying-camel class lets her bypass obstacles, while Forced Breakthrough removes the usual penalty of enemy-occupied squares. Combined, those tools open flanking angles that grounded units cannot reach. For map designers, that is a warning: chokepoints and frontline walls stop being reliable when one unit can fly over them or walk straight through the enemy holding them.

Players are already arguing about the balance implications. Some say passing through enemy lines makes backline access and surround tactics too easy; others expect that a flying-camel unit will pay for that freedom with lower durability. If her stats are tuned around that mobility, she could be a high-skill enabler; if the numbers are too generous, every map starts to look like a Nudinu delivery route. What is harder to dispute is that the design fits Fire Emblem’s recent habit of giving every character one distinctive tactical trick instead of dumping everyone into generic class buckets.

Nudinu is also a quiet reminder of what Chinese tactical RPGs could do with their own wuxia settings. The exiled-noble-turned-wandering-fighter trope is already everywhere in Chinese fiction; the missing piece is mechanical follow-through—a move or trait that feels inseparable from the character, not a palette-swapped class sold on nostalgia. Too many domestic attempts turn the jianghu into an assembly line of interchangeable heroes.
Overall, Nudinu looks like a character with real story meat and a tactical hook that isn't just class wallpaper. Whether she becomes essential or merely situational will come down to how fragile that flying camel is once the game actually ships.
