Snoop Dogg Will Be the Next Celebrity Elusive Target in Hitman: World of Assassination

Dexerto revealed via X that Snoop Dogg is joining Hitman: World of Assassination as an Elusive Target under the alias Dr. Cyrus Kane. The reaction was split from the moment the post went live.

My first instinct was confusion, not excitement. Solo stealth has never been my thing — stalking NPCs feels more like homework than play. Still, the image of Snoop Dogg hiding behind a doctor's name while you figure out how to take him out is at least a little funny.

This isn't IO Interactive's first celebrity Elusive Target. Previous targets have included Eminem, Milla Jovovich, Bruce Lee, Mads Mikkelsen, and Jean-Claude Van Damme. At this point the roster reads less like a hit list and more like a pop-culture casting call.

The real tension comes from the format itself: the target only appears for a limited window. Succeed or fail, and the mission is gone for good. No restarts. No retries. No second chances.

The catch is the lack of a date. Dexerto's post only says the target "will be added."

That's the kind of vague promise you can't put on a calendar — believable, but useless for planning.

Social media has divided into two camps. One side thinks dropping a legendary rapper into the assassination sandbox is exactly the kind of left-field stunt casting the series needs. The other worries that IO is diluting the cold, detached tone that defined Hitman at its best by piling on celebrity cameos. Then there's the name: "Dr. Cyrus Kane" sounds like a professor, not a West Coast icon, which only deepens the weirdness.

As for whether this pulls me back in, probably not. Single-player stealth, to me, is hot pot without the spice — technically a meal, but not where the flavor is. If a few friends picked it up and we traded stories about who finally took down a rap legend, that would change things.

For now, veteran players and anyone chasing these celebrity targets should wait for IO Interactive's official announcement. Casual onlookers have even less reason to get excited: no date, no confirmed platforms, no detailed gameplay. The punchline is there, but the setup is still missing.
