Rock Kingdom: World's black-and-white colorway already scalped to RMB 1,000?

According to Gamersky, Roco Kingdom: World, Tencent's open-world creature-catching mobile game, has made its shiny spirits a hot topic among players. The rarest version right now is the hidden black-and-white variant, which has already been pushed to several hundred yuan on third-party gray-market platforms, with some especially popular designs listed at more than 1,000 yuan.

That price tag is irritating enough on its own, but the system behind it is easy to understand. In-game, players can catch shiny spirits with the Prism Ball item, or encounter them randomly in the open world. There are many possible color schemes, and the black-and-white version is the one players treat as something they may simply never run into.

The bigger problem is that the official game does not currently support direct spirit gifting, mailing, or pet egg trading. Anyone trying to buy or sell a black-and-white shiny spirit has to rely on the shared world capture method instead. That restriction makes the market clunky, and clunky markets tend to push prices up.

This kind of deal can look like a shortcut to a prized collection piece, but in practice it depends almost entirely on trust. If you really want a black-and-white shiny spirit, sticking to the formal capture systems is the cleaner option. These offline or third-party trades are not officially authorized, and the risks are straightforward: account security, scams, and possible bans. The lower price may be only part of what you pay.
