Wodling: Symbiosis is being pitched as a hybrid of creature raising and third-person shooting, but the first notable detail on its Steam page is a release-date mismatch. One part of the promo copy says the game is out now, while the body text says it will officially launch on Steam at 21:00 on June 9, 2026. That contradiction also shapes how the game is being presented: a new project built around pet collection, progression, and linked TPS combat, as described in a promotional article produced and published by Gamersky, which also states that reproduction without permission is prohibited.
Compared with Palworld, Wodling: Symbiosis is not putting all of its weight on creature-catching and survival building. The clearer emphasis is combat. Its core idea of "human-pet unity" is a system where the player attacks in sync with a Wodling through a psychic link, meant to feel more immediate than the usual approach of sending a pet in to fight on its own. Still, it does not sound like a straight loot shooter in the Borderlands vein, because progression is clearly being treated as a major pillar rather than a side hook.

The raising side is ambitious, too. Progression begins with picking up eggs and hatching them, and each species is said to have up to 30 evolution branches. That means the same pet can develop very differently depending on the route chosen, with one branch leaning into wide-area fire damage and another focused on frost-based slowing and crowd control. On paper, that sounds closer to a build system than the lighter pet progression in games where creatures are mostly separated by stats and cosmetics.

More important may be the gene-grafting system. According to the promotional material, it breaks species boundaries and lets players customize combat partners more freely. That goes further than a standard evolution tree: one follows developer-defined branches, while the other suggests recombining different parts into something more tailored. If it works as described, it should have more long-term value than a campaign-only structure.

Its endgame feature, Abyss Mode, looks like the other major long-tail system. It unlocks after clearing the entire main story, then opens into a dynamic randomized challenge area where Wodling eggs are scattered across the map. Enemies can drop mutation factors and catalysts, including catalysts that strengthen a Wodling's core stats. As players descend further, enemies change in number, strength, and attack patterns, ranging from plague insect swarms to elite corrupted bodies and, deeper in, Abyss Lords. The mode does not force a full clear, either. Players can retreat and keep their rewards, or push deeper for rarer resources and equipment.

The takeaway is straightforward. If your main interest is the collect-and-raise loop, the key question is whether the evolution branches and gene-grafting system really offer the freedom the promotion claims. If you are here for the TPS side, the real test is whether that player-pet linked combat is actually smooth in motion. As a concept, Wodling: Symbiosis looks like it is trying to fuse Palworld-style creature progression with the sustained combat pull associated with Borderlands. Whether that concept holds up in the final game matters more than any promotional language. Based on what is available now, Steam users can at least check the store page first, then keep an eye on its stated release time at 21:00 on June 9, 2026.
