“An expansive turn-based RPG set in Hawaii, rewarding long playthroughs with strategic positioning, dense mini-games, and extensive character progression.”

Notre verdict

Is Infinite Wealth worth the dozens of hours it asks for? Yes, with one condition. What you want has to be a long, sprawling trip that keeps pulling you off the main road, not a straight, tight, fork-free adventure. That is the game it is, and it is unapologetic about it from the first hour to the last.

Systems that mesh rather than spike

Its greatest strength is not any single element fired off at maximum height. It is that several systems now interlock smoothly. The more mature turn-based combat supplies a steady stream of freshness, the island setting and city exploration do the work of keeping you around, and the character performances and sound design add emotional weight to the journey. No one piece dominates; the package is greater than its loudest part, and that balance is rarer than any individual highlight.

That cohesion is what separates this entry from a list of good features. You feel the seams less and the momentum more, and the result is a game that is unusually easy to sink into and keep playing. Each system covers for the others' soft spots, so the experience never sags in the way a more lopsided design would. It is, in the truest sense, bigger than any one of its systems.

This is also the hardest kind of quality to demo and the easiest to undersell. No single screenshot or clip captures why the whole holds together so well, because the appeal lives in the handoffs between systems rather than in any one of them. You only really feel it after a few hours, when the loop has closed around you and you realize you have not wanted to stop, and that slow-burn pull is exactly what the design is engineered to produce.

Honest limits, none of them fatal

The flaws are clear. The late story does not land as sharply as the opening promised, which leaves some genuinely strong ideas parked at merely fine. The enormous content volume means the pacing cannot stay taut the whole way, and there are stretches where you feel like you are wandering an extremely lively mall, wanting to see every floor and forgetting what you came to buy. Yet none of these issues truly shakes the recommendation. They are the texture of an ambitious game, not cracks in its foundation, and you make your peace with them quickly.

Measured against the previous entry as a baseline, what is most valuable here is not total reinvention but walking the reinvented road steadily, and walking it more like itself. This may not be the installment that jolts the series hardest, but it is very plausibly the one easiest to fall headfirst into and enjoy more the longer you play. The growth is quiet, confident, and cumulative rather than flashy.

You will spend a lot of time with it. Most of that time, you will spend well, and the hours that drift slightly off course tend to be the ones you remember most fondly anyway. For the right player, that is exactly the trade this game is offering, and it is a generous one.
