3 Days of Frenetic Patch Releases! Can *Red Desert* Replicate the 2077 Miracle?
The newly added fast travel points mean no more running your legs off. How much better if this design had arrived sooner; it feels like a long-overdue redemption. The storage box system is here too; resource management is no longer a headache. The exploration pacing has been optimized; players can finally catch their breath. Back at launch, the Steam reviews were truly gruesome. The "Mixed" review tag hanging there was quite an eyesore. Media scores were polarized, leaving players uncertain. Interestingly, the developer's response speed was astonishing. They pushed patches frantically within days, like taking a make-up exam. Stock price and ratings began to rebound, as if hope was in sight. This level of rescue effort reminds me of Cyberpunk 2077. Speaking of which, IGN's analysis was quite clear-headed. Systemic issues can be fixed, but the core narrative is hard to change. It's like painting an old house; the framework is still crooked. They drew a comparison to Starfield; core issues require restructuring. It's hard to tear down and redo a single-player game; what a pity. Turning things around like Cyberpunk 2077 did is not easy. The creativity is there, but the execution is too rough; it feels like a half-finished product. But unfortunately, core shortcomings are difficult to compensate for with patches. Quest design is outdated, and the plot structure feels rigid. Gamersky is still giving away activation keys; consider it a perk. Five sets of keys plus a mouse; the sincerity is quite decent. If you're looking to buy, I suggest waiting a bit longer to observe future updates. After all, clever design is harder to come by than patches. We indie game players value soulful design more. No matter how much big studios pile on, it's not as moving as a small clever idea. Pixel-art indies often know better how to touch the heart. Whether Red Desert can make a comeback depends on their future sincerity.
