Marvel's Wolverine Launches September 15 as Insomniac Enters Final Development Sprint
Insomniac Games has locked in a September 15 release date for Marvel's Wolverine, with most of the studio's development resources now focused on final polish. The game has entered late-stage development, marking a concrete milestone after years of anticipation since its initial reveal.

Peter Parker's facial capture actor is currently working on motion capture for two Insomniac projects. That second project remains unannounced, though industry chatter points to a Venom-related title. The scope hasn't been finalized—it could follow the Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales model as a mid-sized standalone, or target PS6 hardware with potential ties to a future Marvel's Spider-Man 3.

Earlier rumors claiming that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Venom DLC and a standalone Venom game had been canceled have been debunked by multiple industry sources. Insomniac clearly has longer-term plans for the symbiote character, but the studio needs to ship Wolverine first before revealing what comes next.

Insomniac's strategy here is methodical: deliver Wolverine in September to anchor 2025, while quietly building next-gen content in parallel. If the Venom project is indeed targeting PS6, Sony's confidence in the IP runs deep enough to position it as a potential launch window title. Players have until September 15 to revisit Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and get their claws ready.
