Over 10% Price Increase! Steam Games Yen Prices Hiked by Developers

Major news has emerged from the game pricing arena: the Steam platform is once again accelerating the pace of global price adjustments. On March 28, Valve officially announced a significant update to the pricing conversion tool for game developers on the Steam platform. This revision aims to align pricing conversion data more closely with current global market conditions, as precise as a pit stop tire change. Developers now face a choice of three new modes, as if standing at the starting line waiting for the starting gun.

Three new pricing modes—exchange rate conversion, purchasing power conversion, and multivariate conversion—are now available for creators to choose from freely. The Steam platform supports pricing settings for 35 currencies and 4 regional groups, offering quite extensive coverage. Among these, changes in the Japanese Yen region and the Polish region are particularly prominent, with the Yen region seeing a notable increase of over 10%.
