Helldivers 2 hits 12 million players as developer extends support into year three
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has crossed 12 million players, and Saber Interactive just confirmed online support will extend into Year 3, with all delayed content remaining free.

That's well above projections for a hardcore Warhammer IP. Saber clearly nailed what both 40K fans and action shooter players wanted, and instead of cashing in on the momentum, they're doubling down with a third year of support. In today's live service landscape, that's a rare move.
The equipment overhaul is substantial. Players will soon use signature gear across classes, eliminating the need to level a new character just for one piece of kit. Patch 13 adds cloaks and iron halos, Patch 14 brings tabards and robes. For Warhammer fans, these visual customization options matter—in the 40K universe, your warrior's appearance is your badge of honor.

The siege mode overhaul looks promising. New gameplay modifiers will add variety to PVE content, and with the Salamanders Champion Pack 2 confirmed, Year 3 content volume should hold steady. Saber explicitly stated that anything cut from Year 2 will roll into Year 3 at no extra cost. That level of transparency is uncommon in live service games.
If you're a Warhammer fan or enjoy Deep Rock Galactic-style co-op shooters, now's a good entry point. The 12 million player base ensures fast matchmaking, and the three-year support plan means no content drought for at least two years. Just note the hardware requirements—RTX 3060 or better recommended for smooth performance during those gore-heavy combat sequences.
