In 2009, during my last semester of high school, I created the original Legion TD map on Warcraft 3. I made it just for fun, to play with friends from school. As much as I loved Dota, Footies, Wintermaul, and every other TD out there, nothing ever felt like the game for me. I wanted gameplay that was: a) team vs. team, so I could queue with my bros. b) high skill cap, since I'm a tryhard. c) strategic, without all the micro, since I have terrible aim. and I couldn't find anything else that checked all those boxes. ...7 years of work and 283,246 lines of code later... I am deeply tired, but proud of the game Legion TD 2 has become. Chill, like a TD, yet deeply strategic. After thousands of hours, there's more to discover. I can honestly say that after a long day of working on Legion TD 2, I still like to relax and unwind by playing...Legion TD 2. See you on the ladder!Show moreShow less
Currently close to 1200 hours in, I'm one of the top players of this game, so my review would be completely biased since I'm obviously addicted to the game because I've dedicated so much time to it, but I'll do my best to be as objective as possible from a new player's PoV. Pros: - can get addictive if you really enjoy these kind of games - fast matchmaking, even though it currently has some balance issues - really focused on the competitive aspect, so if you are a competitive player, this is the game for you. Sadly, the competitiveness comes at the sake of sacrificing some of the fun. - fairly high replayability IF you are dedicated to learning the game, otherwise you'll find the game stale after a few matches. Cons: - slow content release We were promised a new unit every 2 weeks, yet a legion which has a total of 6 units is released like once every 7-8 months due to development downtime and other issues. - small playerbase Game became 2v2 because of this, a change which arguably made the game less fun for many players. (This game is fun with friends, less friends, less fun for most people). The game is also pretty much dead during NA day/EU night, as there are only around 150 players online. So if you wanna play, I'd suggest you play during EU peak time. - really STEEP learning curve The tutorial doesn't cover nearly enough aspects of the game. You'll find yourself getting stomped for probably like the first 20-30h without having any idea why you lost/what you did wrong in the first place. There are not enough content creators providing quality guides for new players to learn how to actually play the game properly. - ocasional client bugs - toxic community I guess this can be said about every multiplayer game. You'll probably find yourself the same toxic players as you found in games like LoL, DotA, CS:GO and others THE MAIN CON: - the price tag. If you are really obsessed with this game, it can be worth 20$, but for ~97% of the players, it isn't. If you really wanna try this game, it can be worth 10$ during the occasional sales, but even like that, probably around 50% of the players will stop playing after a few hours of gameplay, so keep that in mind when deciding to purchase it. Honest opinion, you are better off waiting for WC3 Reforged, getting your Legion TD fix from wc3/sc2 custom maps (ignore DotA 2 LTD version, that thing is trash), unless the price tag on LTD2 goes down by a lot, or unless the development of this game speeds up by A LOT. EDIT: ********I haven't checked out the game in ~2 years, but since I got a notification because this review got a developer response, I just have to point this out :) This review was written way before I got banned. This review was written back when I had ~1200h played and currently my account shows close to 1600h played. "0.0 hrs last two weeks / 1,577.8 hrs on record (1,197.0 hrs at review time)" Only you can tell if this review played a role in my account getting banned, since the devs do have a history of being quite salty and responding negatively to critics about their changes. After a quick check of SteamDB, it seems that not much has changed in terms of this game's popularity, which is sad, with better management, this could have been a really successful title.Show moreShow less

Sadly I did not get to play, they only show you the legal agreement after starting the game, it is not on steam or anywhere on the internet which is already a red flag - this is a tactic to reduce time you have to play game, and effectively make you more likely to miss the refund window if you want to know what you are consenting to. If you actually take time to read the TOS/EULA that pops up when you start game they say the following: "Your account can be deleted after 180 of inactivity" further down they explain that any unlocks or in game purchases would not be honoured if they chose to delete your account if you are away for more than 180 days. No thank you, I am not willing to support a game that will delete accounts of paying customers if they move to something else or simply have no ability to play for half a year. If you were free to play and did it for guest accounts - fair play, but this? this is a NO from me, requested a refund.Show moreShow less

Seems kinda fun, and I loved Legion TD back in WC3. My problem is the in-game shop being a thing that exists. I already paid for the game, and buying in-game currency with real world money is a huge problem to me.Show moreShow less

It was fun until the point where I got a warning. I created a ticket and asked why i got this warning. Obviously, my teammate reported me for whatever reason, and devs think that I should have communicated with my mate. I mean...why? Is it my fault of not being on the same page as my mate? Not to mentioned that devs ghosted me after only two replies in the ticket. If you cannot answer my question, don't pretending that you have a good customer services.Show moreShow less

Not for me. Great if others enjoy this. But not for me. Reasons: It's quick-quick-quick build or upgrade units. Then sit and wait and watch. Then quick-quick-quick build or upgrade units. Then sit and wait and watch. It's a bit boring.. if you accumulate Mythril for a big push you're even going to have to wait 2+ waves before you can maybe force a breakthrough. There's so much 'downtime'. And then hectic seconds when you buy/build/upgrade. I've been thinking about why.. I play lots of normal Tower Defense games, and it also involves waiting around. But there I am not frustrated. It's probably because they aren't towers but actually moving units I feel the urge to command. And the very small fight-box.. there's no path. No real 'will they pass my last towers?' but simply mashing 'will they kill or will I?', on paper, it should maybe not matter much, but it does for me. It matters everything, apparently. A very big part is also that it's not júst defense. It's also offense. And it's moslty because of the offense part that I find it taking too long. You have to chip through their defenses, use mithril, then save it up over a few waves, then use once more.. etc. It just doesn't feel fun to me. It feels like a drag where I have to divide resources between defense and offense, without much control of either, and hope the other side screws soemthing up. Nothing at all against the game, it seems polished, well-made etc. Just not my thing.Show moreShow less
