This being on Steam is a matter of convenience if nothing else. However, it's painfully obvious that Mihoyo either didn't realize or just didn't care about the differences between Steam and a mobile platform. Not being able to use other accounts that link to mobile or Mihoyo itself could be excused for new or returning players, but the nail in the coffin is the newly introduced Log-in tool. This tool is going to be the new way for players to receive their daily rewards for logging in and playing the game going forward. The problem is, you need to access a third-party site and enter your login information to participate. The site does not accept Steam login information or recognize Steam accounts. After contacting support, the only response given was "The Steam version does not link to Mihoyo accounts, sorry". So, even as the dev team pushes towards partnering rewards and events to accounts, playing this version of the game means you WILL be missing out and Mihoyo will likely not do anything about it. Other than that, it's a fine version of the game. Easy access to your Steam wallet, easy setup and use of different controllers, could potentially be played on a Steam Deck... You'll just have to be willing to accept you're playing the red headed step child version of the game. EDIT: Since this review is sticking around, I'll add that I do enjoy Honkai on a very casual level, and being able to import Steam gamepad settings easily is keeping me around for now. I played HI3 a long time ago and didn't mind starting over, but until there is evidence Steam users won't be left out of future plans I still cannot recommend this version of the game to anyone looking to invest time or money into it.Show moreShow less
flop as hell since i love this game i give this a recommend, but i don't recommend playing this on Steam. Download the HI3 Launcher instead it's not that hard.Show moreShow less
Its a nice game and all but THIS version have a MAJOR issue, some users including me, are having problems with the STEAM version of Honkai Impact, to be more exactly.... BSOD... IDK how they messed up this but i have already the Desktop version of Honkai Impact on this PC and i can play very well, no problems at all, but the steam version tries to put a file called "UniFairy.sys" on System32 that make every time you open the game, automaticly get a Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) Until they repair this nonsense this is a total [NO]Show moreShow less
Before I played Honkai Impact 3rd i had a small wee wee, no friends, no girlfriend and absolutely no will to live. None of these things have changed, but the game is pretty good.Show moreShow less
So yeah the game has no option to change accounts and it automatically logs in with the Steam account. Unless they will announce a cross-play option I think my job here is done. This being one of my favorite mobile games it pains me to give it a downvote but my 3 years old account with over 1000 hrs awaits me. That's truly a shame.Show moreShow less
Since 99% of the negative reviews are solely about the lack of account linking between the Steam and other versions, the game has an undeserved Mixed score. It's frankly unfair to give the entire game a thumbs down over that, especially for people who are looking to get into the game for the first time and who aren't planning to play it on their phones ever. Or, like me, don't want to set their phones on fire trying to run it xD Before anything else, it's highly recommended that you play this with a controller. You will have a much better time than trying to play with KBM, especially for camera management. The controller mapping is perfectly fine right out of the box, and will make your time playing that much more enjoyable, rather than futzing with awkward keyboard inputs. So, for those who are new, Honkai Impact 3rd has what is hands down the best story in the genre, and it's a story you can play start to finish for free. No grinding, no needing a meta team, no gating behind the gacha, with only your daily stamina limiting your progress. The freebies you get at the start will easily carry you through the first 6 chapters, and from Chapter 7 on, you go through the story using the characters the story provides you. Everything you need to know about the story is presented in the game itself, but there is a wealth of additional lore and backstory in the HI3 manga and visual novels for those who want even more context. I cannot emphasize enough how you can play this game for the story alone, for free, and still have a great experience. There's also two additional game modes aside from the story (A Post Honkai Odyssey and Elysian Realm) which contain their own excellently-written stories and characters. On the gacha side, if you've played any kind of gacha before, you know the drill: put down your crystals and pray to RNGsus. That said, like its newer sister-game Genshin Impact, all the gacha banners have built-in pity, so things are pretty fair... as far as gacha games can be fair. The gacha-exclusive stuff is usually (but not always) the best, but the grindable/craftable stuff is respectable, and many of them are part of the meta for the cutting edge competitive team set-ups. Speaking of competitive, there's no direct head-to-head PvP in Honkai Impact. Nor is there an 'arena' style system where you fight another player's AI-controlled team. Both of the core competitive modes are centered on High Scores against PvE encounters, with your rewards determined by how well you do for your level bracket. Because of this, even a F2P/Dolphin Budget player can put up decent scores and reap the associated rewards. Long-time veterans and whales will have advantage due to having better-geared teams, and therefore faster clears and higher scores, but unless you're the type who must be at the competitive edge, you can post respectable scores and keep a steady stream of rewards coming with just some research and planning. There are only two only things I can think of that could be a negative for some players looking to hop in. First is that Honkai Impact 3rd is not a good 'side gacha'. It's a game that does do better as your main go-to gacha due to the sheer amount of content the game has for you to chew through. So if you're already heavily invested in a particular gacha, it might be difficult to squeeze HI3 into your schedule. Second, there are no collectible husbandos. Only waifus. If neither of those things deter you, then nothing should stop you from downloading and playing this excellent game, either here on Steam or via Mihoyo's official Honkai PC client on their website, and joining the ranks of Hyperion Captains! PS: The story will cause you emotional damage. Don't say you weren't warned :PShow moreShow less
Terrible Without Crossplay, with errors in the download and the worst the payment system. It is better to play it from the official page.Show moreShow less

I love this game, but please do yourself a favor and do NOT download the Steam version. It's been 2 years now and Mihoyo still does not allow Steam users to link their account to Hoyoverse. Since they came out with HoyoLab, Mihoyo hosts many events on the platform that provide in-game rewards... but Steam users are ineligible because they cannot link to Hoyoverse. Just dont do it.Show moreShow less
