Come on Ubisoft you just couldn't hold yourself huh?! Releasing a 70 euro game and on the DAY of the release you slap us with 85 euros worth of DLC packs that are just not cosmetic but give you a gameplay advantage this is why piracy exist and I will be refunding!Show moreShow less
PSA the 30 fps cutscene lock seems to be a bug when you interact with following settings: Raytracing Quality BVH Quality Terrain Quality if you use one of the graphic presets and don't touch these after it seems to work information by BenchmarKing Edit: and yes ubi seems to be aware of it and work on a fix to stop whatever is going on here down in the comments xD also saying I should leave a negative review for still great game because of a fixable bug just because I have to put raytracing on ultra instead of ultra high is a big stretch and the shop is whatever with a bunch of ugly cosmetics in a singleplayer gameShow moreShow less
Cutscenes capped at 30FPS in 2026... Really? Have I bought DLC? No. Do you want to buy DLC? No. Do you want to buy DLC? NO!!! Menus are a cash grab for Assassins Creed Shadows... "Launch Shadows to see stats for item"... SERIOUSLY??? The game itself is beautiful and a well made Remaster of an original legendary game, but modern Ubisoft always find a way to F*** things up. I want a single player experience I can enjoy WITHOUT microtransactions and in menu advertisement for AC Shadows being forced down my throat. Brilliant remake - AWFUL studio. *Edit I have my game averaging 170fps (albeit with DLSS), Ultra high, RT on with resolution at 3440x1440. It was shocking that I found cut scenes capped at 30 fps, but how was I to know that this is a day one bug and that I must not run the game at the highest settings (purely as a workaround)? It's disappointing. I am enjoying the gameplay as Black Flag is a game I played in my early teenage years. If I hadn't - I'm not sure that I would've continued playing past the first hour.Show moreShow less
A Great Remake with a Greedy Price Tag Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Resynched is a great remake of an already great game. The lighting looks better, the textures are cleaner and the small gameplay changes make everything feel smoother without losing what made the original special. Black Flag is still one of the best games in the series. The pirate atmosphere, naval combat, exploration, music and Edward Kenway all hold up. If you never played the original, this is an easy recommendation. Some of the changes are also genuinely useful. There are fewer pointless collectibles and the old full synchronization objectives are gone. You can now play missions the way you want instead of following random extra rules. But the core gameplay is still very close to the original. The main story, world and overall structure was already there. That is fine for a remake, but 60€ still feels too high. Around 30–40€ would have been fair, with a cheaper upgrade for owners of the original. I paid around 35€ and that felt reasonable. And of course Ubisoft added cosmetic packs that look ridiculous and do not fit the world at all. Some things never change. A well-made remake with many improvements. Great game, fair at 40€, hard to defend at full price.Show moreShow less
What's the point of getting the deluxe version when, immediately in game, there's $84.91 worth "DLC" that you don't own. Ubisoft also deleted my Uplay points. so there's even more I can't access. UBISOFT WHO HURT YOU!?!Show moreShow less
Some games remind you why you fell in love with gaming in the first place. The original Black Flag was one of those games for me, so I've been looking forward to this release ever since it was announced. What really killed the excitement for me, though, was opening the store and immediately seeing €85 worth of DLC's on the first day. I don't mind paying for extra content when it's released later, but having that much paid content available from day one just feels greedy and leaves a sour first impression. I just wish the launch had been about celebrating a classic instead of the storefront. The game deserves the thumbs up. Ubisoft deserves a very big thumbs down, but at this point, I don't think anyone is surprised anymore.Show moreShow less
My biggest disappointment with Black Flag Resynced is the removal of unarmed combat and enemy disarming. In the original game, one of my favorite parts of combat was disarming larger enemies, stealing their axes, or taking guns from guards and using their own weapons against them. It made Edward feel resourceful, unpredictable, and genuinely pirate-like. Removing that mechanic makes the combat feel less varied and strips away one of the features that gave the original game so much personality. The updated version may look and feel smoother in other areas, but taking away player options is not an improvement. It is a clear downgrade from the original combat system.Show moreShow less
I bought this game for one reason: I thought I heard the old man say Leave her, Johnny, leave her It's a long, hard pull to the next payday And it's time for us to leave her Leave her, Johnny, leave her! Oh, leave her, Johnny, leave her For the voyage is done and the winds don't blow And it's time for us to leave her! Oh, the winds were foul and the work was hard Leave her, Johnny, leave her! From the Liverpool dock to the London yard And it's time for us to leave her Leave her, Johnny, leave her! Oh, leave her, Johnny, leave her For the voyage is done and the winds don't blow And it's time for us to leave her!Show moreShow less
Look I hate to join the band wagon and give a negative review over one single aspect of a game, but people genuinely did not express how truly awful a racket ubisoft are running here. To start, if you press the pause button (the three little lines on your controller) naturally the game pauses. Press it again and it doesn't exit the pause menu, no instead it takes you directly to the in-game store. Really?! Every single time I try to exit it really has to try and make me buy something because I didn't hit the B button instead of the SAME BUTTON I USED TO ENTER THE MENU IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! I wish that was it, but it isn't. Everyone is right to complain about the ludicrous price of $10 for an in game trinket, sword and gun skin, and character skin. The boats, same thing, $10 for what is just a skin for the various parts of your boat, but really it is just one set of overall skins. The skins vary so much that I doubt you will ever mix and match them, so you really are paying $10 for one skin (in the case of the boats). But neither of those is the worst thing ubisoft is doing... In-game notifications. I really wish I were kidding here, but ubisoft actually has the audacity to put in-game notifications in telling you to buy items from the store. Ubisoft you should have some shame. The skins aren't even that bad admittedly, but the overall practice of putting such little content behind such a high price tag, on top of the constant bombardment of in game ads to buy said over priced dlc is just beyond reprehensible. I mean everyone knows ubisoft is know for these types of money making tactics and having very little to no shame, but come on ubi, even for you this is extremely low.Show moreShow less
