This game is kinda like those fake mobile ads you see everywhere except they had the balls to actually make it into a real game.Show moreShow less
I wish I liked this more than I did. I love the way this looks and sounds, but the moment to moment gameplay just isn't engaging enough for me. The levels themselves really lack interesting enemy patterns and behaviours, gameplay curveballs/surprises, and variety in general. It's all a very "flat" experience with no particular highs or lows, just turn your brain off and launch balls everywhere until your DPS simply isn't high enough to break through (regardless of your skills). Then there's the city building part - again, I love the way it looks, and I love city builders in general - but the upgrades you get from putting all that effort into planning your city are as boring as they get, usually resulting in things like +1 stat or +0.5% radius. If you like endless grinds, this might be up your alley. for me, it wasn't enough.Show moreShow less

Meta-Progression Idler disguised as a Roguelite The Good The final bosses are fun bullet-hells. The Bad Terribly mindless stat-check mobs for 14 minutes (or 5 at 3x) Extremely imbalanced minibosses that are just HP walls normal mobs with almost no interaction or hitboxes to dodge The most boring and grindy meta-progression system I've played in a roguelike More Detail I'm a big fan of Roguelikes and carpet-shooter bullet-hells like Touhou, so I thought this game would be right up my alley. You will enjoy your first few runs, but this grind is some of the worst I've ever seen in a roguelike. You can have no-hit runs on some characters, but you will simply not pass the stat check on the mobs. You are forced to adhere to time-gated 7 minutes IRL cycles in order to create structures for non-guaranteed disappointing upgrades. After you beef up your meta progression through farming these 7 minute cycles, you breeze past the zones on every character at 3x speed without any thinking at all. The gameplay loop is simply not fun. Example: some of the first shrines you get give you 0.050% increase to AOE damage for every character you beat the first campaign with... So 20 clears of 15 minutes (or 7 minutes if you play 3x speed) gives you a whopping 2% AOE damage increase. Upon clear of the second zone, you get a shrine that gives you 0.050% increase to DoTs for each character clear. Suggestions: Rehaul the 3 "minibosses" to be engaging and not a boring DPS check. Lean into the bullethell more. The majority of the level feels like a waste of time to be honest. Fix meta-progression to be less grindy; create more harvest upsides to successful clears.Show moreShow less
Yeah it's good. Maybe a little bit addictive? I would love to elaborate but need to get back to playing it.Show moreShow less
The town building part of the game really ruins this for me. I want to shoot balls in a pit, not build a poorly planned village lol On a serious note, one of my criteria for a good roguelike is that it should be beatable even with a bad build; and you do get bad builds early on in the game. However, the core gameplay mechanic of dps checks and auto scrolling prevents you from salvaging a way to win. You can't dodge, there's no environmental power ups, there's nothing a player can do to offset the lack of damage. If you can't kill things, you're dead. So basically what the game boils down to is to grind the meta progression to overcome this. While it's fun to become overpowered and destroy everything in your path, I find it equally as fun to somehow beat a stage with lackluster items; and I feel like you can't do that in this game. It also doesn't help that this came out after Megabonk, which I'm sure most agree is more entertaining (more addicting) game and is $5 cheaper than Ball x Pit.Show moreShow less

This game started off really strong but gradually went downhill. I genuinely liked the core concept — the fundamentals are solid — but the progression just isn’t fun. Most of the characters you unlock feel uninspired and add little joy to the experience. I recently tried the character that makes the gameplay turn-based, and that was the last straw for me — it completely killed my interest. Farming also loses its purpose after a while, since you end up with an excess of resources. Constantly having to rearrange things just to build or upgrade is tedious. While the new maps have different themes, they all play far too similarly. The end bosses have inflated HP without actually being challenging, and the constant fusion upgrades during runs are more confusing than engaging. This game could’ve been so much better if: New characters brought genuine excitement and had unique powers that made combat more dynamic. Farming felt meaningful instead of messy and redundant. The maps offered more variety — with distinct features, enemy behaviors, and mechanics to truly set them apart.Show moreShow less
This digital crack very VERY addictive. Basically a rougelite brickbreaker with a touch of farming sim. Too bad the end game progression and content is lacking. WE NEED ENDLESS MODEShow moreShow less
The game is kinda addictive at first, the progression wires into your dopamine system to make you feel good when you unlock new things. The gameplay isn't really good though, your chance of success in any level is more about grinding levels rather than skills. The "bullet hell" isn't so good, the bullets are so easy to dodge. Your success is pretty much determined by your level, which controls how much damage you can deal and how many enemies you can stop from reaching the bottom. If your level is bad no matter how well you direct your balls, you're toast. If your level is good, you can play erratically and watch things melt. Some balls are clearly really good (anything AOE), and some are rubbish (passing through enemies is useful in limited contexts, health restoration is pointless given you only die by getting overwhelmed). Most passives aren't very good either, for example, what's the point of a passive that gives "20-30 extra damage on condition X" when enemies are bullet sponges at higher levels, it should be some kind of percentage of extra damage not a flat rate that only gives you an advantage on easier levels. Mostly I just feel like I wasted time playing this.Show moreShow less
