For those who are only looking for a recommendation, I will keep this short. People who have read my reviews would know that I've been sucking Evenicles amazing chin-chin since I played it. After playing this game, will I finally have a new 'number 1'? Nope. But as 'second place' this sure is miles ahead of the 'third'. So, I recommend it 7/10. Now go. If you're still here then you're probably one of those pricks who want more details in order to get their pricks hard. Well that's fine, because I can gush about this game all day long! I should've said this in the very beginning, but I'm too lazy to back track so... anyway... this game is an eroge, erotic game. From that genre title alone, you should already get the hint that if you're squeamish about things that pious Templars consider as blasphemous, you shouldn't touch this work at all. Neither should you be reading this review, you heretic. With that said, if you're still here after hearing that, let's get down to it. Brave Alchemist Colette, first and foremost will go to hell because it's a big fat liar. The title should not be "Brave Alchemist Colette" but instead be "Brave Alcumist Colette", because that's her occupation in the game... I'm not making a pun joke. If they used that title, not only would it be factually correct, but also a better marketing tool to draw its intended audience. With that said Cute Spunk Guzzler Colette is a very beautiful game fit to stand on a pedestal in its genre. This brings us to Art Design. If you didn't already notice, the game works of anime style design. So, if you're into the western "realistic style" design this game may not be for you. Anyone else, would love the art in this game. All the women were drawn beautifully and while in many other games this would be "superficial" in an eroge, this is nearly what matters the most. Colette herself is very beautiful, and this game does something that not many other eroges allowed us to do, choose our breast size~! As a fellow cutting board this made me happy~ **happy flatchest noises**. Too bad most of the other characters are fat unhealthy cows and the only other 'flat' comrade is only flat because... (spoiler alert) that character is a trap. Furthermore, even outside CGs the art in the overworld are also very pretty in comparison to the pixelized ones of inferior works in this genre! Next are CGs! Because the art style is very beautiful it goes without saying that the CGs you get as rewards for losing, or triggering an event are also all topnotch. They're very beautifully drawn and there's not one boring cg event! Whether you're getting stuck in a wall, or your mentor is getting tentacle graped because you made the wrong answer in a quiz, every CG looks amazing! Voice acting! This part takes a little bit of a dip but not because the voice acting is bad. The characters are voiced well and when it's time for a sekusu scene just hearing them let out sweet moans and groans is enough to give men a few inches of growth, or if you're like me, you're a girl and a sociopath, a little bit of moisture. You can tell that the voices were professionally done, and sometimes you wonder if they were masterdebating (purposely spelled wrong because f-you steam censorship) while doing these voices just to make it sound right. Unfortunately, if you play this long enough you're going to notice that some voice strings are repeated too often. Call me crazy but I recognized "aaahh~ aaaahh~ aaaahh~!" being repeated over and over in many of Colette's h-scenes without any change in tone or in pattern. Thankfully Colette's not the only girl you can listen to, and it's not like she only does one pattern, but if you're particular to these details it might bother you. Characters! This is what holds this game back. Compared to evenicles delicious buffet of amazing, and memorable characters, this is more of a happy meal of cliches. The characters are beautiful but in the end that's all they were. They are not memorable and you will ignore most of them except for the one your genitalia gets magnetized to. For me, there's one character that I really liked and that was the unique one, Chris. Plot! Okay this one's a stinger. I've said before that plot isn't important for an eroge but it's a welcome addition. Well, this game has a very standard plot. If you've watched an Isekai anime before (if you don't know what isekai is then you probably never watched modern anime) it's a story set in a fantasy version of medieval times where magic and steel reign supreme. You are the protagonist and there's a demon lord to kill. My biggest problem with this, is that nearly every eroge, at the end, will change their ending depending on how you played the game. For this game, there's this character I never romanced the entire game, but at the end, for some reason, my character Colette somehow got married to that character despite his affection meter being completely at "zero hearts". This really pushed it back for me. I wanted my character to end up with Chris, but instead she got forced to be with some bland simp. Gameplay! Standard turn based gameplay. You have "skills" and "sekusu skills". You use skills to decrease the health of your enemies, and "sekusu skills" to decrease their "MP" along with your parents hope and dreams. When you lose you are treated to some very delicious CGI... most of the time. The game has a crafting system, no surprise because you are an alchemist, oh sorry, alcumist. The difference is, unlike in other games, you also need to collect "men juice" as a component for your "alcumy" and the better of these juices you use, the more potent the product. You collect these juices by asking for it in the streets, using some sekusu skills on enemies, or losing purposely and then letting them dump all their baby batter in your baby chamber. Other than that, there's really nothing that separates this game's gameplay from other similar themed games. Over all, for me this game was worth its asking price. I would've been more than satisfied if I wasn't given such a generic ending but as it stands it's fair to give this game a morethan passing grade. Our savior this quarantine 7/10! "*Slurp* Mnh! Mnh... Hah hah This is- ahh!" -ColetteShow moreShow less
its great if you like restarting it all the time. Interesting gameplay, but lags and destroys save files all the time. I had a save file with 19 hours that it corrupted, then i had one with 30 hours and it did the same. wait until there will be no further updates.Show moreShow less
It's crazy how they basically translated this into two different games. The amount of liberties taken with the censored version are crazy. It really doesn't feel the same at all, if the 1.4 GB uncensor patch says anything against the 900 MB base game. Regardless, this is a suprisingly entertaining and easy game, may not be your thing if you don't like gathering materials and crafting. The characters are fun, and well designed, and the H content is great and has a little something for everyone.Show moreShow less
it has plenty content, but it's really repetative and grindy Also.. I never had an RPGMaker game that hardly runs for 20 mins without crashing. How do you even manage to do that? You can say plenty about rpgmaker games but usually they're at least stable Also way too much text. It puts VNs to shame. By the end of it I basically just leaned on the skip-dialoge-button and it stil took like 20 seconds to get through some of them. Ain't nobody got time for thatShow moreShow less

The controls are so bad in this game that I've requested a REFUND. This game does NOT accept mouse input or WSAD. In my opinion, it's GARBAGE.Show moreShow less
I have played Brave Alchemist Colette with and without the patch. If you're looking for an Atelier-like game, without the patch, I would suggest playing this game! Although, I would say wait for it to go on sale because for $25, without the patch the game isn't worth it at that price. I beat it in 13 hours. There are no costumes. You don't really get to know your companions very well at all. Chis and Priscilla do not have portraits (Priscilla's portrait I get, because it's very risque, but they gave Sylvia and Aisha more conservative outfits to wear for their portraits, why not Priscilla? And I don't even know what's wrong with Chris. They removed the fact that he's actually a guy in the patchless version). Without the patch, combat isn't very hard at all, and neither is collecting mana or leveling. The artwork is beautiful, and I did, overall, enjoy playing the game without the patch! It sated my Atelier craving pretty well. WITH the patch, it's nearly a different game. Colette isn't an Alchemist who practices alchemy, she's a... Alcu.mist who practices alcu.my ^^; the game has a LOT of hentai. Instead of collecting mana, you're collecting, lets call it baby gravy, and in order to collect it you have a whole separate skill set of moves to use on enemies. The menu and battle menu is different, you can wear costumes now, there's a lot more quests to complete, you get to know your party members a lot more. There's affection quests, multiple endings, and you can change the size of Colette's chest from fairly large to nearly flat chested (we couldn't get an in between size?). And, I'm currently at 41 hours played, and I haven't beaten the game yet, so it's a LOT longer with the patch installed. If you just want to play a game that's like Atelier, I suggest this game, but only when it's on sale. If you want to experience the hentai, $25 IS a fair price!Show moreShow less
1.) THIS GAME DOESN'T SAVE AUTOMATICALLY LIKE MOST GAMES ON STEAM DO. THIS MEANS IF YOUR SCREEN FREEZES AND YOU HAVE TO CLOSE OUT OF THE GAME AND MABYE STEAM ENTIRELY YOU'RE SCREWED, YOU'VE LOST YOUR GAME PROGRESS SINCE YOUR LAST SAVE. 2.) IT DOESN'T LET YOU GO BACK TO THE MAP AFTER COMPLETING THE STORY, IT FORCES YOU INTO THE CCREDITS AND THESE NO CHANCE TO SAVE YOUR GAME BEFORE IT DOES, THESE NO BUT A CUT SCENE AT THE END OF THE GAME IT DOESN'T LET YOU SAVE DURING THOSE. THIS MEANS YOUR COMPLETION OF THE FINAL BATTLE BE AUTOMATICALLY ERASED ONE YOU CLOSE OUT OF THE GAME TO GET OUT OF THE CREDITS AND YOUR GAME WILL NEVER STAY COMPLETE. THIS IS A REALLY CRAPPY HALF BAKED WAY TO SE TO SELL A VIDEO GAME, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND A GAME SOLD LIKE THIS. 3.) THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO FUN INTERACTIONS BETWEEN CHARACTERS OUTSIDE OF THE THE MAIN STORY LINE AND THE QUEST LIKE THE THE ATELIER SERIES ,THERE SHOULD BE ALOT, THAT SIMPLY LET YOU GET TO KNOW AND ENJOY THE CHARACTERS, CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN CHARACTERS ARE ALMOST NON EXISTENT AND YOU DON'T GET TO HEAR THE FEW THERE ARE. RPG GAMES ARE NOTHING BUT A HUGE DULL REPETITIOUS GRIND OF COLLECTING SYNTHESIZING AND BATTLING WITH OUT IT. 4.) 2 OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS DON'T EVEN HAVE A 2D CHARACTER MODEL OF THEM IT'S JUST BLANK OR EMPTY WHERE THERE SUPPOSE TO BE, THIS IS REDICULOUS AND LAZY TO NOT CORRECT A MISTAKE LIKE THIS. 5.)THE GRAPHICS LOOK LIKE A GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAME THROW TOGETHER WITH LITTLE EFFORT THE LOCATIONS ARE NOTHING BUT NARROW WITH A FEW WIDER SPOTS THAT DON'T TAKE UP THE WHOLE SCREEN FOR MOST LOCATIONS. IT'S JUST BLACK BLANKNESS WHERE NOTHING WAS PUT. A LOCATION FOR AN EX THE INSIDE OF A CASTLE SHOULD BE DESIGNED AS SUCH AND THE BUILDING LAYOUT SHOULD TAKE UP THE WHOLE SCREEN. APPARENTLY THE HAD THE TIME TO MAKE THESE SERIES OF SKINNY PATHS MUCH LONGER THAT WHAT CAN FIT IN THE INSIDE OF THE BUILDING, THEY SHOULD JUST DONE SENSIBLE NICE LOOKING LAYOUTS THAT TAKE UP THE WHOLE SCREEN. 6. ALL OF THE LOCATIONS HAVE BLOCKED PATHS THAT LEAD TO NOWHERE THIS IS STUPID AND POINTLESS. ALL THE VISIBLE WIDE OPEN AREAS ON SCREEN YOU CAN'T TAKE THE CHARACTER THROUGH AT ONE OF THE LOCATIONS ONLY SERVES TO ANNOY PLAYERS, THERE SHOULDN'T BE ANY IN A 3D VIDEO GAME UNLESS ITS A RACING GAME WHERE YOUR SUPPOSE TO STAY ON TRACK . 7. AT LEAST THE GAME PLAY IS FINE. THE SYNTHESIZING PROCESS AND BATTLE SYSTEM ARE EASY TO USE AND WORK WELL. THIS WOULD BE GOOD FOR MODERATE AND SEMI-CASUAL GAMERS. 8. UNLESS YOU CAN PUT UP WITH EVERYTHING ELSE ACCEPT THE GAME PLAY BEING ATROCIOUSLY HALF BAKED REALLY WANT AN AFFORDABLE RPG GAME LIKE THIS. RIGHT NOW I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS. OTHERISE WAIT FOR KOEI-TECMO'S PUBLISHER'S SALE AND GET ONE OF THEIR ATELIER GAMES.Show moreShow less
