It's been a while since I've seen a good FMV game on steam. Breakout 13 is a well-made Chinese full-motion video game with an exciting story. Keep in mind this is the first part of the game and you still need to play the DLC which will be out on the 5th of February to uncover the whole story. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2915538956 The story is about a young teenage boy who skipped school to play video games in an internet cafe, he was expelled from school for that reason so his mother decided to enroll him in a behavior correction institute. After leaving her son there, expecting him to learn how not to be addicted to video games and the internet, it turned out the headmaster is using an illegal method of electric shock to force the students to say what he wants to hear. It's up to the player to trust or not listen to the other students and try to escape the institute. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2915532816 The gameplay is very interesting, the conversation choices you get depend on your responses and what you discover in the school. There is a relationship meter as well as QTE (quick time events). The escape room puzzle part is very well made. The actors did an amazing job, I have played one of the routes and enjoyed it fully, you can choose which part you want to reply and you can also skip the previously seen scenes. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2915538995 Pros: +Interesting story. (Based on a real story) +Choices and consequences. +Good soundtracks. +Good character personality development. +Good game length. +Multiple endings and routes. +Steam achievements. Cons: - The subtitles are white, I wish there is an option to have a dark background behind it. It is sad to know this game is based on a real story, thinking about how people went through this. I still highly recommend this game to players who enjoy FMV, investigation, and mystery stories. WARNING: This version is only half of the game. You have to buy the complete edition or add DLC to it which isn't mentioned in the description at all.Show moreShow less
I really enjoyed this game - probably one of the best produced title in the genre. The direction and camera are great, the acting is pretty solid for an interactive movie. The story is all right and quite relevant, subtitles are mostly good and so on. But when I say "this game" I mean - this HALF of a game. I opened the game, saw it had 8+2 chapters and thought - OK, looks like I am about half way through. Then it abruptly ended. It completely ruined the enjoyment I had because now even if I buy it, I won't be able to play it for a week before I get to it. And when I do, I know I just won't enjoy it as much anymore. _This game offers you thousands of storylines and multiple endings+ - quote from the steam store. This game in fact has one ending and that is a trailer to buy the DLC. Why not just be honest and bundle the whole thing as one game with a higher price? Big thumbs up for the game, bigger thumbs down for the marketing shenanigans. This trend needs to die. I am not going to pay for the DLC out of principle. Also, buying in game items to rank or derank your character status is just desperate. Did the publisher make them do this? EDIT: I did get the DLC and finished the game with the both main endings. It was good, the only big minus is the way it's sold with a DLCShow moreShow less
Hi there. Russian ADV games admirer reporting. I'll rewrite this review later. First thing you totally MUST to know - you are buying only first half of game and story, it's not finished. It was told in news from devs which came out at 30 December of '22, but you probably missed that and Steam page itself have zero information about such deception. As other reviewers pointed out walkthrough time of available chapter is roughly 2-3 hours (for blind run) so it sounds like cashgrab machination for not allowing you to use refund on this game. DON'T BUY IT, AT LEAST YET. Wait for reaction from devs since game itself, while cool, is halfbaked and lacks many QoL things, including some English-unfriendly stuff.Show moreShow less
What parents can't do when they are young, they must let their children help them finish their dreams; Parents swipe short videos every day to relieve pressure, children need to ban entertainment; The parents were moved by the self-sacrifice (paying high tuition fees), while abusing the children, "You have no conscience, how much we have done for you? How much do we pay for you?" Parents’ mistakes ,their child have to bear. Show moreShow less
The store page lists English subtitles, I will tell you now, do not buy it if you don't know their language because there is no English like it states in the pictures and video. Requested a refund, false advertisement which I've raised with Steam.Show moreShow less
Full walkthrough in English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKs6VN-ZE78&ab_channel=TheBaldMan The game is interesting. It has a good number of branches but is no where near 'Detroit Become Human' for example. Here the game doesn`t let you progress if you don`t do the correct thing. Like if you fail the game tells you to go back on the timeline and change things. In Detroit become human is not like that. If a character dies, it dies for good. The consequences really matter. In this game not that much, at least the big ones. Unfortunately this is only a part of the game. The game is not fully released. They will release a dlc with the continuation of the story. But this part has two endings good and bad. Bad where you leave the facility and good where you stay and fight. The acting of the characters is bad to okayish. I think the dlc will have the same price or a bit smaller maybe with the actual game, just because is half of the story. Anyway I guess for this price the game is ok. ~ DIFFICULTY ~ 🔲 My 90 year old grandma could play it 🔲 Easy 🔲 Normal ☑️ Hard 🔲 Dark Souls ~ GRAPHICS ~ 🔲 MS Paint 🔲 Bad 🔲 Meh 🔲 Graphics dont matter in this game 🔲Good ☑️ Beautiful 🔲 Masterpiece ~ MUSIC ~ 🔲Little to no music 🔲 Bad 🔲 Not special 🔲 Good ☑️ Beautiful ~ STORY ~ 🔲 This game has no story 🔲 Like playing Temple Runners for the story 🔲 It's there for the people who want it ☑️ Well written 🔲 Epic story ~ PRICE ~ 🔲 Free 🔲 Underpriced ☑️ Perfect Price 🔲 Could be cheaper 🔲 Overpriced 🔲 Complete waste of money ~ REQUIREMENTS ~ 🔲 You can run it on a microwave ☑️ Average 🔲High end 🔲 NASA computer ~ LENGTH ~ ☑️ Very Short (0 - 3 hours) 🔲 Short (3 - 15 hours) 🔲 Average (15-50 hours) 🔲 Long (50-90 hours) 🔲 Extremely long (90-110 hours) 🔲 No ending ~ FUN ~ 🔲 I'd rather watch paint dry 🔲 Hard to enjoy 🔲 Repetitive ☑️ Actually pretty amusing 🔲 Ride of your life ~ REPLAYABILITY~ 🔲 It's a one-time experience ☑️ Only for achievements 🔲 If you wait a few months/years 🔲Definitely 🔲Infinitely replayable ~ WORTH BUYING ~ 🔲 No 🔲 Wait for sale ☑️ YesShow moreShow less
♥♥♥♥ this game. It's a good game, but right now im 50% done with chapter 9 (last chapter if you buy DLC). And i need to go back in the story (not sure where) to boost the relationship with one of the characters. I will not spend 1-2 hours trying to figure out where to change the choices. Also, of course you can buy 2 different items ingame for real money. Eggs = negative boost in relationship with a character. Rose = positive boost in relationship with a character. For real money of course. There is even scoreboard in the game of what steamuser gave the characters the most "benefits". Lastly, "Breakout 13 - Gratitude" is not the full game. If you want the whole story, you need to buy DLC to get additional videos. DLC's are fine, but this game without seeing DLC would be pretty strange since they are connected.Show moreShow less

DO NOT GET THIS GAME IF YOU DON'T LIKE REPLAYING PREVIOUS STORY SECTIONS! The game soft-locks you at various points if you don't meet certain relationship stat checks and you will have to replay a lot to get past these checks. One example is the start of Ending I - if you don't have a good relationship with Qi Miao you might have to replay as far back as Chapter 4 to progressShow moreShow less
