The game is fun but the people who bought it from itch.io cannot access the multiplayer update. i kinda feel robbed for having to pay for the game again even tho i supported the dev before it was released on steam.Show moreShow less

I think its a little scummy of Mike to not provide early backers on itch.io with a steam key. It's not like it's difficult, itch.io has a feature to provide backers with steam keys. The early backers are the ones that made this possible and are the reason the dev got merchandise opportunities to begin with. There are a lot of people on your twitter announcement asking the same thing which the dev is selectively ignoring. I get the game is cheap, but its a matter of principle. Pulling a Todd Howard and asking people to buy the same game twice just to have it on a preferable platform is just kinda scummy in my opinion. Again, I get the fact the game is cheap, but expecting people to buy your game again to enjoy it on steam when you can very much provide the early backers with steam keys just doesn't sit right with me.Show moreShow less
Developer, I beg you, add the ability to play against another person!Show moreShow less
I must be the odd man out. Don't really get what the hype is about. It's definitely a unique game with some charm. I like the art quite a bit and the game is filled with personality. But at the end of the day it's just a luck based game that I can't really see myself playing in the future. If you like fun partially luck based games (kind of like a coin toss with buffs and debuffs), then you might love it. Me, personally, not my cup of tea. Good idea, but not implemented correctly for me. Dev does deserve the money and reviews though. I look forward to their future projects.Show moreShow less
handcuffed the dealer, smoked 3 cigarettes, chugged a beer then blew my head off in front of him. 10/10Show moreShow less
Problems of outdated Buckshot Roulette Multiplayer game design If I had the opportunity, I would give it a neutral review. But, unfortunately, there is no such opportunity, so the review is negative. The multiplayer update of the acclaimed shotgun Russian roulette game Buckshot Roulette was recently released and it left me with rather mixed impressions. I'll talk about the mechanics that I think are questionable and suggest ways to solve the problems. If anyone is not familiar with the original game, I will briefly describe the gameplay. We play Russian roulette with a shotgun against a mysterious dealer. The game is divided into 3 rounds. The right of the first move always remains with the player. At the beginning of the round we are allowed to take out a few items from the box, and then show the number of blank and live ammunition. After that they are randomly loaded into the shotgun. There are several actions you can take on your turn: 1. Use an item that will improve your position in the game. For example, to see what the next cartridge will be. You can use all items in 1 turn (there can be no more than 8 of them). If after using an item there is still at least 1 cartridge left in the chamber, you can fire it (points 2, 3). 2. Shoot yourself. If the cartridge turns out to be blank, you can make another move, otherwise - move over 3. Shoot the opponent. If the cartridge is a live round, you deal damage to him. The turn passes either way If you win in 3 rounds, bringing the dealer's health points to 0, you get a suitcase of money or access to the endless mode with higher stakes. The single-player game was pretty good. It was interesting to calculate the probability of occurrence of the right round, to play combinations of items. But playing against a bot quickly became boring. That's why players asked for the addition of multiplayer mode. After all, the game with live people is always more interesting. Although in this case there are several problems. Multiplayer Multiplayer mode is a game of 2 to 4 people. In essence, the rules of the game remain the same. This causes a number of problems, the main one being too much down time. Down time is the time a player waits for his turn, during which he does not take any active actions. In all modern table games (and Buckshot Roulette is, in fact, a pure table game) this time tends to be minimized. But in this game, there are often situations where the player waits for his turn for several minutes, which breaks the dynamics a lot. Outdated gameplay design There are a few mechanics in the multiplayer version of the game that raise questions for me. Here I'll describe why I find them problematic and try to suggest a way to solve them. 1. No restrictions on the use of items Each player can have up to 8 items on the table. A player can use any number of these items during his turn. Even all of them. Because of this, the turn time is delayed. Solution: put a limit on the number of items used per turn - maximum 2-3. 2. Fixed camera During the opponent's move, the camera is fixed on him, not allowing you to look around. On the one hand, this is correct, because you have to watch your opponent's actions to count ammo and keep track of the game state. On the other hand, it blocks your ability to plan your next move. You can't see what items you have, what items your opponents have. You can't think in advance about the combination of items you're using. And that's a bad thing. Solution: let the player move the camera freely 3. An item that allows another player to skip a turn If a player misses a turn, he does nothing in the game. When the moves are fast, it's not such a big problem. Like, for example, in the same UNO. It's important to realize that skipping a move doubles the down time! In Buckshot Roulette, a single player's move time can take about a minute. Why is this so? Recall points 1 and 2. A player can use as many items as he wants during his turn, but he can't think of a favorable sequence of items in advance. Because of this, the turn is delayed. In addition, a player can empty the entire shotgun magazine during his turn, which means that players have to take items out of the box again and show what shells will be loaded into the shotgun. As a result, such a player is out of the game for 3-4 minutes, which is too long. Solution: remove this item from the multiplayer version of the game 4. Player elimination If the number of health points of a player becomes 0, the player is eliminated from the game until the end of the round. The waiting time for the next round can be as long as 6-7 minutes for the first player eliminated. This is a catastrophic amount of time! After all, the eliminated player now has no influence on the game, and is forced to just get bored and wait for the others to finish. The most winning strategy would be to reduce the number of players as soon as possible. If you see a player who has little health left, you should shoot him. This way you will increase the number of your moves and reduce the chance of them shooting you. Solution: There can be many ways to solve the problem. For example, ending the round. But in that case it changes the essence of the game, in which the surviving winner takes everything, so in this case it is not suitable. The best thing to do, of course, is to shorten the round time, I wrote about this in the points above. Alternatively, you could give the eliminated players the ability to influence the events in the round by weakening or strengthening other players. For example, give them the ability to block the use of an item 1 time per round. Or eliminated players could be given the ability to see the order of shells in the magazine and could attempt to give clues or trick the surviving players. There's an added element of social deduction here, which can brighten up the waiting minutes quite nicely. What's the bottom line? If you rebalance the multiplayer and fix the points I listed, it could be a great game. But at the moment it suffers from outdated design. The big down time problem kills all interest. After a few games the desire to play it again falls away. And that's sad. After all, the potential of the game is quite good. Well, the developers are now actively working on this mode and accepting suggestions on gameplay. Hopefully, it will be reworked and changes will be made to reduce the downtime and add additional activities for eliminated players.Show moreShow less

Bought the game on itch.io as an early supporter. Had to buy it again on steam so I could play it with a friend, because itchio version isn't being updated and you don't get a steam key. Rather scummy behaviourShow moreShow less
