DO NOT BUY OR PLAY ONLINE, REPORT TO STEAM EXPOSED TO VULNERABILITY CVE-2018-20817 With XLabs being killed off by Activision, and Plutonium possibly next on the chopping block, there is no safe way to play this game or any other Classic CoD on PC anymore. Activision wants you to completely forget about their legacy and go play their newest game and buy tons of bundles. BO2 is exposed to CVE-2018-20817, a massive security risk that allows hackers to execute Remote Code Executions through Steam's Authentication Requests and upload malware just by playing online and matching with them ingame in both Multiplayer and Zombies, nearly exactly like it happens with Black Ops 3 and every other Classic CoD released from 2007 - 2018. Plutonium seems to have survived Activision's C&D onslaught, though I don't know how long it will be around for regardless. If you absolutely want to play Black Ops 2 safely, please go and download Plutonium before playing. If you already have it, keep the launcher up to date. If you're too lazy to use Plutonium, play on Xbox. If Activision won't consistently update these games, and won't let the community fix them, they need to be taken off the store. This and the rest of the Classic CoD Games are practically malware at this point with the lack of updates. Not even the newer games are safe anymore. More information on the CVE-2018-20817 RCE exploit can be found on the National Vulnerability Database's website. TLDR: Don't buy or play online without Plutonium, you risk being ratted and having your PC controlled or info stolen from RCEs just by matching with players.Show moreShow less
