Holy shid, Konami didn't give a F about this one, I play a lot of the "official emulators" out there (Megaman Legacy Collections, Sega Genesis Classics, Nintendo Switch Online, etc) and this is the worst one I've seen so far (and by a lot) it is so lazy it's shocking, when it comes to emulation usually I don't ask for much just being able to play the games in a satisfactory manner, but I'm not sure this collection can provide that, they did the bare minimum and even then they failed at it. * They used inferior rom versions for the emulation. * There's barely any settings and configuration. * Terrible Menus. * Terrible "Save System" (Calling that is quite generous, it's just a crappy savestate) * No 4:3 resolution unless you want to use the awful blurry scanlines. * I had my first crash in less than 20 minutes. * There's not even an option to close the game, you literally have to go "ALT+F4"!! Enough said... I know unofficial emulation is not supposed to be encouraged when there's an official way to play a collection of old games but this time it's very obvious where you would get the MUCH BETTER experience... And this ain't it. SHAME.Show moreShow less

Well there's a first for everything. A disappointing release from M2. (Probably Konami's Fault) *None of the major issues have been fixed by the patch.* And it doesn't seem Konami cares enough to bother patching it any more. Shame, I recommend buying it still to support M2/Konami to show we want Castlevania but play the games themselves elsewhere. Only supports Borderless FullScreen. Which means added input lag in Windows 10 and W7(Aero) and that means no Vsync in Windows 7 without Aero. You are at the mercy of the Windows Compositor. You can still reduce input lag a little by using the sub refresh rate Framerate Cap trick using RTSS https://www.blurbusters.com/howto-low-lag-vsync-on/ Newer builds of RTSS have it built in to the main GUI so you can edit it right there. You can also limit by frametime. So if your display is 60.02Hz you would limit by 59.997 as a starting point potentially. With frametime 60hz is 16.666ms(endless 6s) and you would round down by a few ms. Since the exe is "game.exe" though be careful of other applications with the same name. Doesn't run full speed on an Ryzen R5 2600x at 4.2Ghz and an RTX 2080 without the Compositor (Aero) enabled in Windows 7 at 1080p. Screenshot http://u.cubeupload.com/MrBonk/game2019060616322676.png No matter what sample rate, there is audio popping in Castlevania IV The default 4:3 scaling doesn't seem to apply horizontal interpolation properly so this results in scaling artifacts like shimmering while scrolling. No resolution options but you can make the game run at a desired resolution by setting your desktop res to that first. Ex: 1080p vs 4k Scaling at 4k is wrong. 4k should result in a perfect 81x (9x9) scale of the original image. Bloodlines is a mixture of 256 width (title screen) and 320 width (gameplay AFIK), and at 4k 224 lines padded to 240 as it would on original hardware should scale to almost full height at 4k and be very sharp. But it isn't. It looks as if the image is scaled to 1080p first and then everything is scaled from 1080p to higher resolutions. Resulting in a softer image. In game 4k "pixel perfect" output http://u.cubeupload.com/MrBonk/game2019060617375871.jpg Original 240p resolution integer scaled to 4k http://u.cubeupload.com/MrBonk/bloodlines240pto4kin.jpg http://www.screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/1133 Scanline filter has a blur applied first and this actually fixes the scrolling shimmer with 4:3 scaling modes but results in a really soft image. Running a higher resolution doesn't fix this because it seems to not scale to high resolutions natively. Ex: 1080p http://u.cubeupload.com/MrBonk/game2019060617270145.png 4k http://u.cubeupload.com/MrBonk/game2019060617365129.jpg 4k downsampled to 1080p vs 1080p native http://www.screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/1134 M2 named the .exe "Game.exe" which may cause conflicts with your GPU driver because it may have "game.exe" associated with a different application and thus have optimizations built into the driver for that specifically that may or may not cause problems for this release. This isn't the first game to do this. If you want to remove that association, you have to make a new GPU Application profile for Nvidia cards using Nvidia Profile Inspector and add this to that profile as an Absolute Application Path. Not that makes a difference because forcing Vysnc doesn't work anyway. Is missing many other Castlevania releases of this era. It doesn't include the European Game Boy Color versions of Adventure and Belmonts Revenge. They could be bothered to hack and translate Kid Dracula, a game that arguably doesn't need it. But they couldn't be bothered to do anything for Simon's Quest which is unplayable garbage without a guide. Though there exists an excellent Rom Hack out there that re-translates the game to be understandable and adds a lot of useful features like a Map. They should've paid that guy for his work. I can deal with the myriad missing releases as Quality over Quantity is always better. But the quality isn't here yet. I won't refund because I love M2 and I want to support Konami's re-release of great games. But this is extremely disappointing.Show moreShow less
So uh, where's Dracula X, Symphony of the Night, and the ones from the GBA?Show moreShow less
The poor controls in every game but CV4 and Bloodlines is a non-starter, and there's no button remapping at launch. I'd be glad to buy it again and revise this if Konami fixes it. Bottom line: on a controller with four face buttons, the bottom button should ALWAYS be jump and the left button should ALWAYS be whip in Castlevania. It's inverted in CV 1-3, the Game Boy games, and Kid Dracula.Show moreShow less
