I really like this game and would recommend it to everyone. But not if your a rush rush player. I am 78 yrs young and hope to live to see the upgrades to Medium and large landing strips etc and the extensions so I can build a huge airport. Thanks devs for weekly inputs much appreciated. Buy it and enjoyShow moreShow less
my heart bleeds. I love this game. It has great ideas and the whole Alpha and Early Access phase was amazing. It gives you a really nice feeling building your airport of your dreams. But why am I not recommened this game? Because it's unfinished. When I've read they release the 1.0, I was hyped and started a new airport, after 20 hours I realized amazing new mechanics but there are still so many bugs and UX from hell. The whole GUI is not intuitive, the graphics of the stairs for example are a joke, nothing more than a place holder, also the bin. The negotation mode is really well made. But the biggest problem, the biggest problem of all, which always destroys everything for the feeling: the path finding. service cars clipping through service cars, error messages of missing staircase trucks, while a staircase truck is standing rigfht next to the plane. Planes clipping through other planes. Stupid people, which act and move so weirdly I really want to close this game in that exact moment seeing this. If you love building games, get this game. For people who search deep management mechanics and a playground for optimization will be dissapointed. The management implementation is really shallow and overloaded in submenu. The submenus are a cool idea, but the whole system behind it is so shallow, why should I consider getting a contract with a 1 star partner, when a 4-5 star partner is much cheaper. HR is dead stupid. Hire best people. Done. There a shift systems, but they are doing nothing. The rating of your airport feels so unimportant it's not a motivation at all. Mh, so sad, I wished the Early Access would go even more for better polish and so important features like Custom or Freight - There is a baggage scanning system, but what happens to dangerous baggages? They will be destroyed. What happens to the owners? Nothing. There is no police only stupid walking security. This whole unfinished feeling is everywhere, there are a ton of good ambitions and ideas, but none of those features have enough "meat" to it and are all just shallow ideas. So sad :(Show moreShow less

This game was in moving steadily along in alpha for a long time; and at that point, the rough edges, the bugs, the lack of content, etc was annoying but understandable. Now it's been in 1.0 for a long time, and still plays like an alpha... and they're releasing DLC. No Apoapsis Studios, that is just not acceptable.Show moreShow less
Disclaimer: I'm a closed alpha tester who also works at an airport that handles ~25M passengers per year. I'm so glad the vision of a realistic airport tycoon game is finally realized with ACEO. The simulation is accurate, deep, and robust, but it doesn't let the complexities of real airport operational processes confound gameplay. The essence of an airport is captured well and it feels alive; far from sterile. The balance between gameplay, simulation, and management is spot on. The game is very replayable and is really only limited by your creativity and your machine's performance. Since every passenger/agent is modeled, a large airport does become resource intensive, but knowing that it's in EA, we can expect that optimizations and features are in the pipeline. Despite being EA, the foundation is very solid and polished, and immediately playable as if it was complete. Look no further for the most capable airport tycoon game; ACEO is here to stay relevant for many years to come and might even become the industry benchmark for this niche. Get ACEO today; you will not regret it.Show moreShow less
First, I get that this is Early Access Alpha. What is there now shows nice graphics compared to that other "airport" game. It seems to me that there is no easy way to start ANY airport. In other words, unlike other sim games where you can start with something small and grow, I don't see that's the case here. Certainly this game has a lot of similarities with Prison Tycoon and even Another Brick In The Wall. But what this game lacks is no clear way to build up. You have to build EVERYTHING at the same time... like RIGHT NOW. You have to lay the runway, the taxiways, the stands, the roads, and then the other type of roads - the service roads, but not before you separate them with that guard rail security shack thing, and you need a tower which doesn't appear to do anything, and then don't forget to add the bus stop and car dropoffs, and hire people, and the executive staff which unlocks contracts which you need to build the fuel, because without fuel nothing you built previously is going to make any difference, and of course the terminal with endless other check ins, info, you get it the picture. This all devolves into building everything at once, hiring everyone, checking all contracts, etc. In other words there is no natural progression of the game as a tycoon game, once it's all unlocked because IT IS ALL NEEDED there is no tycoon game left. You're left with a sandbox. Sure you get to schedule airlines, and stuff, but for the most part by the time you have a working airport, the simulation is DONE! IMO, the game would have been vastly better to allow a working airport sooner with less cumbersome need for every aspect. It could start as a small airstrip that allows private planes into a small terminal with minimal or no need for baggage handling, a smaller and simpler fueling system, and just less stress of running baggage from checkin to the baggage bay and then back to a carousel (which you have to build yourself out of more conveyor belts). There is no "growing" experience in the game. You don't get to discover things along the way. Everything is sort of thrown at you in a sandbox fashion and you have to build and unlock everything right away just to get to the "airport" part of the sim. If the DEVS had spent time understanding how to "build" the anticipation of a true tycoon sim game this would be an awesome game, but it seems that everything is required or you have nothing... it's all or nothing sandbox. It's boring after a couple of hours. And that brings my last point... A successful sim game is one that engages the player not just for a short time but for a long time with small rewards along the way, with finding what works and what doesn't, customizing things (floors and seat colors are about the only thing you can customize). A good sim game allows the player's fun and anticipation to grow as the game grows. AIRPORT CEO does none of that IMO. Lastly, I understand there is still work being done on the game and it is not fninshed. I cannot imagine what else they could add to the game to keep my interest in playing it. What additional items can be added to cusomize the airport or to grow it or make it vastly different. I think most airports will end up looking pretty generic as there are limited items and ways to add pieces that make it work. Due to it's very limited replayability - at this time based on what is available - and the fact that you have no growing curve in the true tycoon sim game style and have to build everything, I DO NOT recommend the game at this time. Without a fully vetted sim "growth" the game is completed early on and just becomes repetitive. I wish that the DEVs address what is planned in terms of making the game replayable such as: procedurally generated terrain and starting points, ability to grow airports differently (without requiring all items at the beginning), some way to connect airports to other player created airports, more parts lilke glass walls, different types of restaurants or eating areas, etc.Show moreShow less

As an aviation enthusiast, an aspiring air traffic controller, I wanted to love this game, and for close to 200 hours of play time, I really tried, but failed. Arguably making the situation infinitely worse is the fact that the game runs just fine on my PC. My problem isn’t with any game breaking bugs or corky UI., but with the fundamental design of the game. First, I want to thank the Dev for their hard work, I have been following the game since it was announced. I get the sense that the studio is a small team of devs who have been working exceptional hard on their creation. The game has come a long way since the earlier iterations. I am writing this review to help you, not to scold you. After all I paid real money for your product, I don't think there is a better way to show that I care. On the other hand. This isn’t a sim. This is not a management game. This is a basic building game, and there isn’t all that much to build. A few hours into each new game, I quickly become lost at having no purpose. It seems the most important decision I ever make is to decide whether I want to place the toilet horizontally or vertically. Everything else is just inconsequential. If I get tired of building bathrooms, I don't have to build any, it will be just fine. You see that's a problem. In one game I went as far as refusing to help any aircraft with emergency. Any repercussion? Nothing that I noticed. This is not a sim game - Aircraft run into each other, stack on top one another. Wings clip into the buildings and objects with absolutely no consequence. So are the passengers, cars, trucks, service vehicles. Aircraft take off and land on a runway with ten planes already stacked on top of one another near the off ramp. The runways are unrealistically short and narrow, can only be built on heading 0,90,18,and 36. There is no diagonal runways, and cannot intersect another runway. The runways can only sustain ridiculously little amount of take offs and landings before it’s out of commission for maintenance, yet they never need to be plowed in the snowy winter. The roaring engines of the 747 is no match for the extremely determined dairy cows and critters roaming my urban airports. Watching them stopping the mighty Queen cold in its path, which ironically had no problem clipping into another fully laden jet just a min ago. Luckily, once the planes have made it to the runway. The law of physics is once again selectively lenient - running into a 1,000 lb cow during takeoff is ok, but hitting a 10 lb bird is not. This is not a management game. I only hire the most expensive employees. I only buy the most expensive service vehicles. I never negotiate with vendors but to take their asking price. I built a 4 stories office palace just for the CEO. Yet the extravagance never slowed me down, I am rolling in the dough (on Hard). Imagine this, If I don’t care about the parking fines, then the whole city is my parking lot. I refused every single emergency, the fine can’t touch me financially, why bother. why implement the concept of money in this game, if i never run out of it? This game has a lot of placebo game mechanics, you feel like your decisions are making a difference, but on the grand scheme of things, they don't matter. I have once built a sizable airport with lots of traffic, only to realize at some point that I have completely forgotten about building a baggage system. But it's fine. (The fact that Johnny has completely ignored all my moving walkways that I built for him, indicates to me, he is strong enough to carry his 64kg luggage to gate 108 by himself anyway.) Sometime I build one parking lot, sometime I build 20. both are, in case you haven't catch my drift, just fine. So is this really a Simcity with a flare for aviation? Well simcity had a lot to build and your decisions mattered. This is a basic building game. There is nothing unique that sets this game apart than letting you plot down a floor plan and watch things magically appear in the hands of contractors in 2D. Remove the runways and aircraft and add a few beds you can re-brand this game as a hospital sim or a bed & breakfast tycoon. How would I had designed this game to make it fun. Easy. Generate for each game a random plot of land in various shape and sizes. Give player the job to figure out how to fit all the elements of the game, buildings run ways into a given space to maximize profit. Anyone looking for a challenge, make the parcel of land smaller, restrict the direction planes take off and land. Small tweak that will make the game immensely more fun to play.Show moreShow less

While this game is rather unique and fun. There is frequent bug that causes both new and current saves to be unable to be loaded. This is sometimes fixed by deleting everything. Its been an issue for 3+ years and never got fixed. I dont mind no new features but if you cant even play the game, whats even the point?Show moreShow less
