A decent night of fun, but falls short in a lot of ways once you start actually trying, dont expect to get 10s of hours out of this one, at least in its current state 1. Main complaint, only one person gets the camera, so only one person REALLY is in control of how well you do, leading the others to feel sort of useless. The film in the camera is limited per run, so if you start to "have fun" by larping as a reporter or film team, you blow through the film too quickly and end up failing the objective. Metagaming the objective by doing short clips of each scoring thing makes for a boring film and the rest of the players basically useless, its a single player experience masquerading as multiplayer. 2. A lot of the monsters it feels like there is little to no counterplay, other than "Avoid", which feels cheap and unfun especially when their patrol routes block your only way in 3. The difficulty is weird. With each passing day the numbers get bigger, but the "View" scaling seems to scale just as linearly as the objective, so really you do the exact same thing over and over without it actually getting harder, unless you get RNG'd into a bad enemy spawn point If they want to make a fun game where you make short horror films with your friends and watch them back, commit to that, and get rid of the roguelike elements of it, the limited film is a bad mechanic in pursuit of that. If you want to go more the lethal company route, give the other players some way to actually contribute to the objective other than just being backup camera holders after the main one dies.Show moreShow less
My friend said they'd gift this game to more of my friends if this review got 1000 likes (I'm poor)Show moreShow less
Let it be known I do not post this review with malice, it is merely my opinion and I do believe this game can become something great in the future. The main flaws: It gets old quick The art style (specifically of the below) Luck based I think the idea of the world is really good! A bright bubbly floating island with the old world below covered in, what I assume is, rot and full of monsters; What's not to love? But this falls apart when you go to the below world and realise that practically everything down there is the same UV map, and it is ridiculously hard to navigate. With everything looking the same I have gotten lost countless times, to the point I don't even want to explore deeper. Secondly, it gets old and boring fast. Only a few runs in did I understood the gimmick, which was good, but if you're not a content creator yourself and just the average joe you may find this experience a bit less engaging. Watching youtubers play this, they clearly were having far more fun and I was overjoyed by that. Clearly, this game has an audience, I just may not be that audience. Thirdly, there is so much luck involved. Sometimes you get a million monsters, sometimes you get one shot instantly and lose everything. Sometimes it takes ages and you only get a snail. I don't know if this is just my experience, but it makes it a lot harder to continue reaching the view count quota with this issue. I think the monsters are really cool, ranging from stupid looking like the mixer to really creepy, like the grabby hand explosive guy. The only real thing is, they all have the same skin! It's so dull! I understand the purpose of this, but I really think it'd help make them more memorable if they had some variations! I do think this game has a good sense of humour though, the character designs and changeable face plates are super fun and makes the group stand out against the dreary place below. The equipment, especially the sound maker personally, are super fun! The group is encouraged to stick together because of one thing; the camera. Everyone wants to be on camera, and from my understanding the viewers like when they see everyone. But this limits exploration! You can't split up and have separate harrowing experiences, or when you do, they are left uncaptured which is really sad! I think a great addition to the game would be a second camera: Half the film, double the risk. It would mean you could split up in groups of two and at the end there could be a compilation of the two sides making lots of opportunities for funny cutaways. Another addition I think would improve this game is perhaps daily goals. Maybe after the first 3 days you start getting highlighted comments requesting to see specific things, and you can choose to act on them. For example, show off how a snail damages you, see a star barnacle thing, maybe catch an explosion live on camera. This would add an element of speed to the game as well as you rush to find the things these commenters want. Of course, if this was a feature, it'd have to be made possible and not just luck based. Overall, I think this game as of right now is fun in the beginning but quickly grows boring. But if it updates and adds new features, it can become something incredible. I am holding onto that hope, and I wish the developers all the best. Even if I may not personally enjoy it all that much, I still see merit in this game, and in the fun others are having with it. Also, it's bloody cheap, I can't be too picky can I?Show moreShow less

Fun but flawed The premise and concept is really smart The camera mechanics are clever The monsters are surprising The gameplay doesn't exist You will have fun with this game initially Running around being noisy buggers, yelling and doing stupid things all for the content is where it shines Being able to relive stupid moments whether artifical or natural after a whisk inserts itself into your friend gives the game a reason to replay But the gameplay is flawed Gameplay is a basic loop of film thing, escape, get views, repeat - Filming can only be done by one person meaning everyone else is... there. There are props to buy but you aint gonna have cash to continuously buy things - Escaping is 50/50 whether you'll immediately die to a monster you can't defend yourself against so instead of running around like headless chickens, if you want to try and play the game, you're just creeping around the entrance - Getting views makes no sense, im sure there are 20 wikis up and running breaking down every aspect of how to min/max views, but I don't wanna study This game is sat so hard on the fence of fun muck around like its TABs predecessor vs Lethal Company survival gameplay loop, it's become to fence CW desperately needs some sandbox variant - Always provide all the tools and gear on each day - No time-limit reset pressure - Just trying to grow a channel with views, subscribers etc I want the chaos, I want 3 boom mics trying to smack a snail, I want underground rave shows But it tries too hard to be Lethal Company for the sake of marketing it fails to be recognisable as its own thing 5/10 - Flash in the pan, will be forgotten unless given its own identityShow moreShow less
this is literally lethal company but with landfall's silly and amazing physics and I am all in for itShow moreShow less
I want to love the game, but it took the worst part of Lethal Company. Constantly resetting any and all progress. The thing that makes this game fun is playing casually, dying in silly ways, recording it, using dumb items, and watching the footage at the end. But if you don't meet your quotas, everything resets, and you have nothing which is utterly miserable design. The game is in conflict with itself. It wants you to play casually and laugh with your friends, but doing so will get you punished harder than the most hardcore games out there, losing literally everything which only ends up making you and your friends stop playing because everyone feels demotivated getting set back to zero with every mistake.Show moreShow less
