Up until yesterday (it changed 1st March) the only edition of Control on Steam was the Ultimate Edition - see SteamDB https://steamdb.info/app/870780/dlc/. Remedy and Humble have deliberately tried to create a downgraded "standard edition" (which is/was not standard, so this is misleading), that did not even exist on Steam until 1st March, in order to double dip Humble Choice customers by trying to sell us DLC that was ALREADY INCLUDED IN THE STEAM GAME. I get that Epic sells an ultimate and standard edition, but there is an easy solution here: if you sell something through Humble Choice, just don't offer people the option of redeeming on the Epic Games Store, and give everyone the Steam Ultimate Edition. But even worse, they botched how they did it. The base game in Steam (to which they have tried to add DLC that was ALREADY IN THE BASE GAME) is actually the Ultimate Edition - again see SteamDB https://steamdb.info/app/870780/. So everywhere in Steam, it shines a huge spotlight on what they've done: in the Steam banner picture in my library, in the name of the game in my library, and on the store page, it says I own the Ultimate Edition, but I don't. If the Steam rules did not require us to be polite, I would ending this with "F*** YOU". But since the Steam rules require us to be polite, I will instead close by saying that if you also are disappointed by this, please leave a negative review of your own. Or if you don't own the game, you can upvote this review, or post a comment.Show moreShow less
Did we get it a year later than expected? Yes. Did we also get the ultimate edition providing the definitive experience at a better price point? Again, yes. Sometimes the best game to play is the waiting game.Show moreShow less
I absolutely can't in good faith recommend a game to new buyers that never had a non-Ultimate version, that they created a brand new *lesser version* just to trick people from a specific store, and that even if you go back and buy the DLC (which wasn't even purchasable separately at first anyways), you still don't get parity in patches with the original Ultimate version, because they had to base it on an older inferior build, to get it to work. Literally a new permanent downgraded version. This is just a terrible precedent. Shame on 505 for doing this. Shame on Humble Bundle & Steam for allowing this. I'll amend this when/if full parity is reached.Show moreShow less
Glad they took the extra year to polish this game up for its PC release.Show moreShow less
- Ultimate Edition gets on Steam - Gets bundled on Humble - Ultimate Edition gets new non Ultimate Edition version for the bundle - Bundle buyers who want DLC have to buy it to get the actual Ultimate version - DLC gets removed from the Steam store and goes back to its Ultimate form - Only way to get DLC now is rebuying the full game or thru Humble Bundle (goodbye regional pricing) Control is a good game but this move on the Bundle buyers is on the bad side. Maybe you should not have bundled the game yet? Because this will make it look as a bad anti costumer move. Many will ignore the DLC and just play the base game then move along with a bad taste on their mouths. Hope it was worth the extra money from the ones that actually bought the DLC to complete their hollow ULTIMATE EDITION. Its not like we are asking to get it for free but why do all this then get rid of a way to buy the DLC?Show moreShow less

Biggest scam on steam Firstly, see edit if you read the false review by the other guy first. Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games are scamming customers that got the game from Humble Bundle or who bought standard edition on Steam. You are unable to upgrade your version, because it says you have "Control Ultimate Edition", which is untrue and misleading. Not sure if you have the true Control Ultimate Edition? If your game is around 50GB when installed, then you have no DLC. The only way for people to get a true Ultimate Edition is to deactivate the version they have now and rebuy a normal Ultimate Edition on Steam. However, I wouldn't recommend rewarding such a bad company. There's a clear service problem here and there's no reasonable legit way to get the DLC. EDIT: There's a nonsense review posted recently calling my review false. Firstly, here's the two editions on Steam. The real ultimate edition, where you can clearly see it's 43GB with all the DLC. Then you get the fake ultimate edition, that's 50GB and was received by Humble Choice owners or a few people that bought it off of Steam at the time. Also, you can clearly see his review is fake when you look at how he redeemed the game, which says it was "purchased directly from Steam" and not "from a Humble Bundle" like they claim.Show moreShow less
It seems that Epic Store has lost... ControlShow moreShow less
update: game is now on sale for 3,99, still cant get the DLC cause it never truly existed on steam, thanks to the gimped dlc less humble bundle version that again never existed on steam and was only created for remedy to double dip, but the funny thing is you can't even buy the dlc on steam nore humblebundle anymore, so to get the full game i would need to remove this game from my library and rebuy it.... who in sound mind came up with this and why isnt it fixed after a this long time, complete vibe kill to even play this gameShow moreShow less
