You’ll watch the trailer and think you’ve discovered the next best retro-inspired throwback survival horror game. This is mostly due to the enhanced PS1 graphical style and overall presentation. However, it’ll only take an hour or two to dispel this illusion. Like many hyped games, the overwhelmingly positive reviews are more about the idea of the game, rather than the actual game itself. Sadly, the story is not very compelling or even that interesting. Instead of hinting elements of the narrative throughout the game, the story is all revealed at the very end of the game. At that point, you'll just want the credits to roll and reclaim the space on your computer by uninstalling it. Areas of the map are also not revealed gradually or in a way that makes sense based on the items you have like more classic games in the genre (Resident Evil or Silent Hill). The atmosphere of the park isn't even that moody or spooky despite attempts to adjust the lighting throughout the game. Enemy-wise there are freaks popping out from walls and puddles of sludge and humanoid mutants that move (slowly) towards you. However, there is never a point in time when you’ll feel challenged by any of these enemies. They can all be avoided with great ease and never really capture a sense of danger that is found in (good) survival horror games. Even the bosses (both optional and required) are a walk in the park. Drop a grenade and the battle is already half over. The biggest jump scares come from these annoying chandeliers that fall on and damage your character. At best, this game feels like a sequence of half-baked mini puzzles from OG FF7. It’s probably best enjoyed by people who like PS1 aesthetics but don’t actually like or have experience with survival horror games from that time. If you want a game from now that actually captures that vibe, check out Alisa instead. I'd even argue that "chibi Resident Evil" aka Heaven Dust is a better option than this.Show moreShow less
Strong contender for the best Gamecube game of 2024, short but worth itShow moreShow less
Not a bad game but I think it is a bit overrated. Won't recommend it at full price but if you can get it for 10-15€ then yeah. Why? Because the gameplay feels average and the length is on the short side. The puzzles, combat and story felt ok, passing grade, but I've seen a lot better. Tormented Souls for instance has the best puzzles I've seen in a survival horror game and it is the same price. The only thing this game does exceptionally well is its aesthetics, and it should be applauded, but personally I think gameplay is more important hence why I don't recommend it at full price. For the record I played the game on hard mode which is also what I recommend unless you are completely new to survival horror.Show moreShow less
if you like resident evil or silent hill this will tickle ur ballsShow moreShow less
If you like the vibe of survival horror games but suck at actually playing them, this game is for you. If you want actual survival horror gameplay, stay away because there's none here. Your resources aren't actually limited, so there's none of the classic survival horror tension and strategy in deciding when to fight and when to run, nor any real challenge to speak of. If you're out of ammo you can just run back to your car or kick a vending machine to get more. And since resources aren't limited, areas you've previously cleared will suddenly be full of new traps and enemies for no apparent reason. The aesthetic was great, the puzzles were decent, and the plot was actually really neat. It could've been amazing if the gameplay wasn't such boring garbage, or at least didn't claim to be survival horror when it isn't.Show moreShow less
After Signalis, I needed this. I ... I needed it.Show moreShow less
I guess the developers realized this game was piss easy but instead of amping up the difficulty or doing anything interesting they just opted to spawn traps in rooms you've already been in.Show moreShow less

This is one of those games where I wish I could review without giving a recommendation either way. It's definitely not bad by any means, I'd place it more on mediocre. The artstyle, ideas and effort put into the game is palpable and I commend the devs on those grounds, but unfortunately it just felt slapped together to me. Initial excitement slowly gave way to confusion and boredom, quite a lot of the puzzles weren't that engaging, the story got too flimsy and I wasn't a fan of combat (tank control-style aim without any lock-on nor a melee weapon or kick to destroy boxes/containers, not to mention enemy design getting boring quick). It's also one of the shortest games I've played to date, under 6 hours. Part of me wishes there was more to experience, but I was also pretty done by the end of it. Overall it was an okay time, even starting off pretty interesting, but ultimately grew into a forgettable experience. There is some level of charm to it, but if I knew what my experience now was going to be, I honestly wouldn't have bought it. Giving this a thumbs down only because every review thusfar is positive and I want to shine a light on another perspective of the game.Show moreShow less
