Classic game, but I can't recommend it because EA will no longer put this one on sale. While the remake is great and does go on sale, this 15 year old game stands at 20 USD. Atrocious business practice.Show moreShow less
How to mess yourself: 1: Turn off the lights in the room. 2: Be the only person in your house. 3: Surround sound. 4: Play Dead Space. 5: Do laundry.Show moreShow less
If you live outside the US i recommend against getting this game since EA pulled a sneaky one and raised the price for most if not all of their older games by quite a bit without a single warning. It increased by 2020% in my country. Skip until they fix it.Show moreShow less
The scariest thing about this game... Is not the fact that you are stuck in a mining vessel with thousands of space-zombies hunting for you... No it's not the eerie voice singing "Twinkle twinkle little star" in chapter 6 either... No, my friends, the most alarming, horrifying, ghastly thing about this game... Is the very first thing you see when you start it up... (EA)Show moreShow less
I recommend this game, but shun EA I feel bad for Visceral Studios, I love Dead Space, but EA screwed them. Game is 11/10 back in the day. EA ported the game to PC, M&K and controller inputs argue with each other until one or the other are removed. Script errors occur if you have VSync disabled, the framerate locks at 30 if its enabled. EA ported the game so very poorly to Steam that I can't believe Steam hasn't pressed a lawsuit because these errors are fixed on EAs store and sells the defective game on Steams store.Show moreShow less

EDIT: I bought a Xbox 360 controller and this game works perfectly with it. While this is good news it still does not change the fact that this game sucks with KB/M. Also to anyone who disagrees with me, please post a comment telling me why. This review is for the PC version only. I love this game, and have played it all the way through around four times. In my opinion, this game has one of the best horror atmospheres ever. Although its almost all jump scares, it kept me on my toes the entire game. The story was good enough to keep me entertained, and the use of audio logs was amazing. Nothing really wrong with the base game, a perfect jump-horror game. My HUGE issue with the PC port is the horrid control issues. Even on max sensitivity, it would take entire seconds to turn the camera around, and only through notepad tweaking could I make it bearable. This "solution" would ultimately create a form of mouse acceleration, so the movement was still not smooth. V-Sync is horribly tied into this game, which I believe is what causes this issues. Please buy this amazing game, but on a console, and tell the developers to stop putting out unacceptable PC ports. Pros: +Loads fast Negatives: -Absolutely unplayable Overall: 1/10 Do NOT buy this version, but please get it on console. This is one of my favourite horror games ever made, and it truly saddens me to give it such a low score, but this port absolutely sucked.Show moreShow less
"Ch-check under the bed." "All clear." "O-ok n-now behind the curtains." "Nothing here." "And the c-closest?" "Yep, don'- OHH ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MOTHER OF GOD!!! ITS DISGUSTING!! OH SHI--" GARBLE, GARBLE, SCREEEEECH. I love this game, but I don't think I can be considered a legally sane person anymore. Get this game if you: A. want to become insane or B. already are and need some relaxing to do. Either way check your corners, always.Show moreShow less
Delist EA. Forcing third-party accounts and banning for inactivity with no appeal is predatory.Show moreShow less
