Fun game but be aware of the third party sign-up requirement if you want to play multiplayer at all. You don't want to be that guy at the party explaining how people have to sign up for yet another service if they want to play this game with you. Too much friction to get a multiplayer game going.Show moreShow less
Great adaptation of a really fun card game. I don't have any other friends who own this game, but that hasn't made me not like it. There are actually still heaps of people on the online servers and it is not hard to find a lobby, and even if you are struggling the bots are still really fun to play against. However I am sure playing with friends would by far be the best experience so do that if you can. I see a lot of people complaining about the price, especially of the DLCs, but it goes on sale regularly and if you look at what you're actually getting and compare the price of that to the physical editions, it's actually pretty cheap. If you are going to buy this game, buy the DLC for the expansions, but pass on the cosmetics unless you really want something specific because there are a few skins in the game you don't need to pay for. The game is basically the exact same as the card game, so that could be a positive or negative depending on how you look at it. For me personally I'm glad it's exactly the same because I got it so I could play Exploding Kittens and not some version of it twisted to become a more traditionnal video game, so I got what I wanted, but if you already have the physical game and people to play with when you want, don't get this game. For people who have never played Exploding Kittens before, it is a fun, addicting card game that is very easy to pick up and learn. In the game there are very specifc yet clear descriptions of what every card does you can access at any time during a game just in case you get stuck. I highly recommend picking this up or even to get a physical copy of the game to play with friends.Show moreShow less
There's no way oatmeal signed off on the blatant cash grab micro transactions. Between the game price, dlc price (which doesn't allow friends to join) and then the costumes, card themes and room themes, I'm honestly in shock. Shameless attempt to make maximum profit with minimal effort.Show moreShow less
Card game, pastime, dark humor, PVP, cats. Nice card game with cats as protagonists, very easy to learn, there is a tutorial that immediately guides you through the game and you will learn quickly. The aim is to stay in the game as much as possible, but it is not easy because at each turn we have to draw a card, but in the deck there are explosive cards that we must avoid, all the others are used to avoid ending up out of the game. It is clear that to win you must try to have as many cards as possible in the deck to use to defend yourself from explosions; draw as little as possible, and make sure that your opponents take the cards from the deck. The animated cards are fun; some are used to defuse the bomb, others that make you skip the turn, look at the last 3 cards to draw, mix everything up or play pairs that give you the right to steal from other players, or make our opponents draw 2-3 times. We can play in PVP online or in offline mode in single player against AI with up to 5 players; The last player to survive the exploding cards wins!!! It is possible to choose our avatar between different types wearing an animal or object costume. The music is engaging, and there are many noises or sounds from the avatars that enrich the game, making it more lively and fun. I recommend it. forget long card games full of rules, this one is simple and fun with not too long games, to try with friends, but watch out for the Bombs!!!! For all fans of Exploding Kittens, you are better off playing the original mobile game made by Substantial. This game plays WORSE than the Netflix version surprisingly. It is a joke for the price they are charging and what it offers. DO. NOT. BUY. It is a waste of time. The gameplay is extremely slow with the unnecessary animations when skipping a turn, how long it takes to draw a card because of the hand shakes before the card is revealed, and MORE causing you to get bored of the gameplay by your second or third game. For example if you play a See The Future card it gives an animation saying "YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE THE FUTURE" which I already know, that's the reason I played the card. That is one of MANY examples of the unnecessary animations aforementioned. The animations of the cards are great but they have no sound effects in this one which was a great feature the previous Exploding Kittens games had. No voice lines, just emotes during gameplay causes this game to be eerily quiet. I tested it out by playing with no music and the game is mostly silent besides the character sighs of relief from the card draw. The lack of additional cards that would work great are also missing such as Reverse and Draw From The Bottom. This game also goes for the cosmetics model of microtrasactions so BEWARE. They are very disappointing. For those who care as well they have a "season pass" but its more so buying the packs ahead of time before they come out. Thing is I recommend not playing Exploding Kittens 2 in the first place. I played it for much longer on mobile before the steam version released. Steam version just has more crisp graphics and a higher frame rate, that is it. The bubble log in for a third party service is still there like the mobile version to track your "leaderboard rankings". TL;DR - Slow paced gameplay and animations, cosmetic microtransations model (you all know that's never a good thing), half baked buggy game, missing reverse and draw from the bottom cards, waste of time and money. Play the original mobile game version by Substantial instead. Thank me later.Show moreShow less
Loving so far managed to play with several friends with no issue apart from the external account you need to make the game is quite fun and easy to set up with friends tho ive noticed the game has frozen a couple of times while playing hosting so keep in mind the controls are definetly made first for mobile second for PC wen it comes to in game action the game features both online mode with randoms host your own room and just solo with AI there is an expansion pass with currently one expansion as of this writting that being Imploding Kittens and 2 cosmetic packs other then that the game is pretty faithful to exploding kittens and can be a quite fun ride for friends due keep in mind the mobile version is only $5 where here its $14Show moreShow less
Ain't no way, they're charging $14 for the game, and $25 for the expansion, that EVERYONE HAS TO BUY TO PLAY TOGETHER. so to play with 5 people on expansion, you have to spend $195+ in total, not including the other dlc... What the actual f-Show moreShow less
I enjoyed playing this game. There were some moments where the UI was off a bit. We also had a hard time keeping our lobby going even though it was a group of us who wanted to keep going together. I did enjoy the battles to the death & would not be surprised if we play this game again in the future. Please know that to enter the game, you do need to enter in log-in credentials for the game's social component. This is relatively easy, but isn't announced well when you are looking into or purchasing the game.Show moreShow less
I did not like the fact that you need to sign into bubble and you have to put your credit card info or social security number inShow moreShow less
