I loved this game back in the 90's, and I loved it again when I bought it on steam. It is a great game, HOWEVER Steam has edited this game recently to remove any sexual content. There used to be options to, for example use sex to get information/items/money from people. My theory is that the last time they put it on sale some people that were not even BORN in the 90's got the game and their parents freaked out. I don't feel that this makes the game unplayable, but I haven't even looked at New Reno after steam tweaked the game yet.... Good game, but don't buy this if you remember it before Steam casterated it. Combat can be rough, for the RNG gods sometimes make you and your buddies accidently one shot your own friend. Be sure to save after every combat, and mayhaps a few times in mid combat as well.Show moreShow less

Fallout 2 is like the wilder, crazier sibling of the first game. It's a blast, but man, it's got some issues. The pacing can be slower than molasses, and the combat and AI are just plain clunky. Still, if you stick with it, the game offers a deep RPG experience with tons of freedom to do whatever you want. But here's the kicker: if you're thinking of getting it on Steam, don't bother. The Steam version is a hot mess, with bugs and issues galore. Plus, it's censored, so you're missing out on some of the grit and dark humour. Do yourself a favour and track down a hard copy or find the GOG version instead. It's worth the extra effort to play the game the way it was meant to be played. one of the best rpg games ever.Show moreShow less
This is an amazing game, and I 100% recommend Fallout 2, but this port is godawful. Save files corrupt frequently, requiring you to make multiple copies of your save when closing out. Music tracks don't play properly, leaving most areas of the game near-silent. The lag spikes are the worst of this port's problems. On occasion, entire screens will run at 0.3 fps or lower. There is no excuse for a port of a 22 year old game to require a seconds-per-frame count. There are solutions to these problems online, but they aren't 100% reliable, and you really shouldn't need to fiddle with game files just to have a game play correctly.Show moreShow less

Everything could have been perfect in this game except for this one critical bug, the kind of one that ruin your entire game, corrupt your saves, turn your smile into a frown and that require a massive fix right now: -It's the censored version. I don't play this game to see my Candy Crunchy Berry and his wonderful friends being kindly hugged in Sweetness Land by a bunch of gummy bears armed with cotton candies. My hope was swept away in the river of my own money as it goes down some dark germano-australian parental militia of irresponsible parents.Show moreShow less

Steam or the publishers have decided to censor the original content without refund or options to deny their changes. Buy a hard copy online or torrent it. Otherwise the game is a masterpiece.Show moreShow less
