The epitome of suckiness when it comes to big studios and gaming. Ubisoft: Hey we had a massive success with Far Cry 5. let's bill 40 bucks for an unfinished DLC, call it a game, and release it. If we market it enough, we'll rake in millions! Gamers won't notice it's just a DLC with minimal content until they hit too many hours within the steam library to return it. In all serious - they took 2/3 of a map of an existing game, created new sprites based off the old ones, procedurally generated flora, and slopped together a terrible and awkward story. It probably seems like a decent game if you didn't play Far Cry 5, but if you did, you probably notice the disgrace this game is to the community. Play Far Cry 5 instead and don't bother with this sad excuse of a game. Also - I am PISSED over the general disregard for the English language or attention to detail that WRECKED any sense of immersion. There are FAR too many misspellings and errors in dialogue to warrant a game with this price tag. Where are your editors? There is a location that is referred to repeatedly as Sacred Lumber and Scared Lumber. You're and your apparently have the same meaning to the knuckleheads that made this game. I doubt I'm getting my money back, but I will try. TLDR this is a shoddy DLC in the guise of a full game, with a broken plot that insults the original game. Play Far Cry 5 and skip this crap.Show moreShow less

Beautiful but short, you'd think after the time saved without having to build a whole new map they might add more content. but to complete the main story in less in a day of owning the game is pretty dissapointing for £37.99. A lot of improved features over it's predecessor and the gunplay feels somewhat nicer then previous. unlike FC5 and before different weapons and combinations will help you battle the higher stages of outposts, mind you a couple of remote explosives is enough to take down enforcers if you lack the tier 4 weapons, I'm not recommending this game at this price. when it's on sale buy it..Show moreShow less

I feel like this game has me hating the antagonists for the wrong reasons. You see, Fc5 had goals. It had characters who HAD goals that conflicted with other characters. Even Joseph could barely control his siblings at times. These twins, Mickey and Lou? I feel like someone spent ages coming up with backstory for them, making sure each sister had a distinctive personality and ambitions. Then someone told that writer that they already made the game with their first draft. Basically boiling them down to PINK SISTER ANGRY GRR and BLUE SISTER SMART BUT ALSO ANGRY GRR. And this falls so flat because there isn't anything shown to the player that these characters are intimidating at the least. I would compare them to two girls whining to their father that they weren't able to kill the bad man/woman who keeps killing their friends. NOTHING is fleshed out about these two, most of their dialogue is through vague threats at the player and their lackeys for doing/not doing the thing that just happened. There was a point halfway through the game where you are FORCED to do something stupid with no alternative so the twins can be "Badass" with no repercussions. Again, I feel sorry for the writer/ writers that were on this game, because they obviously did not get enough time to write the story they wanted to write. Also, even placing an OPTION to buy guns with REAL money in these games is just insulting to the average player. Mobile game versions of monitization DO NOT belong in pc/console games. Its like having a man in a business suit ask you for 5 dollars to get you a soda from your fridge so you don't have to get it yourself; and if you don't pay he straps 20 pound weights to your ankles so you can "Feel like you deserve it." Don't get this game. Not for the cut content nor the story. There is nothing here.Show moreShow less

I would give this a 'mixed' review. If the price was lower I would give it a positive review. If you don't own Far Cry 5, you really should buy that instead because it has a much better price-to-content ratio even at full price. Or even better get it on sale. Note currently FC5 is 90AUD & FCND is 68AUD Waaay too expensive for what is essentially a Far Cry 5 mod - same graphics with new textures, same map only smaller, many of the same characters, very limited story content. This game has a concerning amount of repeatable missions/tasks in lieu of proper crafted story missions as well - I hope this doesn't become the norm to pad out the game. And many of the side-story missions you do get are basically 'defend the thing' or 'kill all enemies' and take about 5 minutes. I would have liked to see them take the post-apocalypse theme further in terms of gameplay, because currently this is just literally normal guns with alternate skins, there's extremely little new or different here vs FC5 once you ignore the new art style. (I know this is meant to be a quick & easy 'Far Cry 5.5' game but if you give it a big price tag I'm going to judge it like its a full instalment in the franchise)Show moreShow less
Performs well, looks gorgeous, has a solid story. However: be warned that if you hated things from FC5 like the more RPG-style elements and the speechless protagonist, those elements are still present in New Dawn. This is a standalone expansion. Fans of FC5, enjoy!Show moreShow less
First Far Cry game I do not recommend. (Unless you can grab it at actual DLC prices 20$ or less) If you already have completed Far Cry 5 and have some money to burn, go for it. New to the series then get literally any other Far Cry first.... You will get more for your money with Far Cry 5 as this is literally the definition of selling DLC/Mod content as a stand alone game. The story is very short, and in order to make it appear to have more content they added the most basic and hollow resource gathering system in, as a time sink to upgrade or do just about anything. Even the items you can upgrade are extremely hollow and limited. It's a fun quick romp in old stomping grounds but unless you are really hungry for more Far Cry after 5, you simply are not getting much for your money. The story is just crap... I don't know who they find to write these scripts but they need to be put in the unemployment line because I have read better content from middle school students. Overall 3/10Show moreShow less
