It drags on for too long, and the gameplay gets repetitive really quickly, they never really introduce any new mechanics and the entire game boils down to luring spring bonnie into a room and hiding, then going back and forth between the ball pit to find an item you need and to use it in a different area. If you are not into fnaf for the lore I would not recommend this game.Show moreShow less

The main story is just too short. Also, there are auto saves but no manual saves which really annoyed me. $20 for this is too much in my opinion. If this was cheaper, then I would definetly like it more but the price just ruins it. I have no idea why they went with $20 price tag for a 10 year anniversary game, it makes no sense.Show moreShow less

Most of the mechanics are very underutilised for how much explanation there is. The first night goes on about how the power can go out and you need to go back to fuse box backstage, but that is the only time it ever happens. You get a sketchbook explaining Freddy's and Bonnie's mechanics, but they never appeared a SINGLE time across all of the nights, apart from the scripted Bonnie encounter. The noise mechanic is also strange as if you make a loud sound and leave the room then Springtrap will know where you are immediately and tunnel in on your exact location, even if he never saw you enter that hiding place. Not that you need to use the noisemakers anyway, I only needed to use them in the 2 scripted/required uses, but Chica will camp a door with no way of knowing that she is on the other side. The autosaves in the first few nights are fine, but they stop working correctly on night 4 and are non-existent on night 5, meaning you have to do all of the daytime parts again. This would be fine if there were any threats during the daytime, but instead you are just running around though empty rooms 80% of the time because the game doesn't explain what you need to do. 2 of the places you can go have pretty much nothing there apart from a single interaction. The dialogue/quest logs are also difficult to read, and the game only supports x-box button prompts with no option to change to ps4 prompts, which lead me to die several times during quick time events. Most of the tips/hints are not helpful in any way. Achievements also show up in game when you get them, which personally i found to break immersion, especially with how many there are for doing normal actions, like flicking light switches. This does not even include the gameplay, which is very repetitive and involves just running between rooms to pick up a key item and take it to another room, which is fun for the first 2 nights but gets boring and frustrating VERY quickly. Springtrap is easy to avoid, but at times you will not know a door is locked (no way to tell before reaching the door) and get stuck in a room or corner with no hiding place. Springtraps pathfinding is strange at times as well, where he will be a room behind you and then somehow appear in the room your entering. There are also softlock bugs that require you to restart, which is especially in night 4 where there is only 1 autosave location. Its a shame because the art and music are great but everything is underutilised. I understand going for each ending would be longer, but from my research it only includes playing a few more minigames and picking up a few items, which isn't worth playing the full game several times over for a extra minute of epilogue. Not worth the full price for a 3 hour game, get it if its on sale. I was hoping this game would be a turn in the right direction after security breach, but it seems like it isn't unfortunately.Show moreShow less

It has a very good artstyle and its animation work is beautiful to behold though some animations are still quite goofy. It also has several genuinely good scares coupled in with really lame BLEH scares every now and again. Bleh perfectly describes the primary gameplay loop as well, you are a little child going into an actively hostile environment alone for very poorly explained reasons "solving puzzles" to save random kids with 5 lines of dialogue total. I put puzzle solving in quotations because what it actually boils down to is simply going from a to b back to a but hold on, wait one second you need something else from b and now that you have it feel free to return to a. Now repeat that same loop a dozen times over the easily ignored poorly developed story and characters. This all culminates in what you might expect the main point of the game to be, hiding from the animatronics, well animatronic. That being the incredibly inept Spring trap which travels either incredibly quietly or Mr. X footsteps which would be challenging to deal with if when he spots you he didn't give you a massive speedboost, yell at you for a solid second, and get easily tripped up by doors taking ages to get through even a few. At no point did I ever regard him with any sort of fear or respect, I would face check wherever I wanted to go and he couldn't do ♥♥♥♥ to stop me leading to a boring and despite it's length overly long experience. all to cap it off with a "bad ending" what ♥♥♥♥. Bad endings and multiple endings in general suck ♥♥♥♥ in so many of these games because they aren't endings, they're nudging the player going "Hey hey, that had no narrative payoff and felt like a massive anticlimax even despite any sort of rising action past the first hour, bet you want an ACTUAL ending right? Well get cracking you brain addled, fully numbed little consumer!"Show moreShow less
