Several times I asked myself while playing: "Do I deserve to play this game for free?" Probably not.Show moreShow less
The art is cool, the music's great, the writing is witty. I'm sure the dev is a nice guy. This game is free, so you should probably check it out regardless. However! If you're making a brainy puzzle game in which you give the option to skip puzzles, maybe, just maybe, I don't know... Don't make the final level dexterity-based? And don't make it unskippable unlike the rest of the game?Show moreShow less

First: The creators of this game did great work and should be very proud. If this is your sort of game (Read full review for description) I highly recommend you support them by buying the DLC. If you want to know my reason for not recommending the game, read on. Review: The game has a decent moral behind it. However the "It's a difficult game. git gud!" is already over played in the gaming world. The game has you working out puzzles so if you research the puzzles you can fly through the first half. The last bit is more "difficult" and ties into the ending but then assumes you enjoyed the ride. This is going to be hit or miss with most people. The moral is that life is difficult but you can still find some enjoyment. The creators had a great idea, but this will probably only land for those that finished the game and actually liked the last bit of gameplay which goes from slow puzzle solving to arrow mashing damage avoidance. This is where it lost me. Great start with a imho questional ending. Much like LOST and GoT. Great start, but then the last bit... By no means should the developers look at this as a negative review, but it's just not what I would recommend to people that share my sentiments. The Music is good, the artwork is GREAT! The story is ok... I would have liked the moral more if the last boss fight was more fun than frustrating. Being able to play it on Linux AND for free, I will support the developers by buying the DLC as I do encourage them to continue. However, with the end game being that life is hard but you can still enjoy it makes the last bit the deal breaker. That would mean you have to be someone that likes this sort of gameplay where you go from solving puzzles to mashing the arrow keys to avoid getting hit. TL;DR Great work from the team and wish them the best of luck, but end game gameplay is make or break for certain people which makes the story either work or not. If you like hard, frustrating games, then give it a go. If not, rather watch a Let's play.Show moreShow less
