The game was once good and had a good developer the current lead developer spends more time criticising feedback from players trying to help or support the game than fixing bugs. He literally comments on discord about how he enjoys making women cry. Discussing the lack of information for us to test the beta for hero siege 2. Turned into a childish argument about how only he (Elias) had a clue about developing games and the rest of you (the players) are to stupid or ignorant to give any real feedback. This is the future of the game, playing in his sandbox that at anytime he gets bored he will take his ball and go home. Hero siege 2 has little hope as they beg players for money and to buy hero siege+ a model that included the ability to see item roll ranges was locked behind a pay wall. Taking 95% of the community DAYS of arguments with this one lead dev who has shutdown anything any other dev attempts todo as "he" is the only one with answers and understand game development. https://imgur.com/4EJJb9H https://imgur.com/nDt3Lyk https://www.gamesindustry.biz/panic-art-studios-ceo-in-racist-twitter-thread-fiascoShow moreShow less
I think this game might be suffering from review bombers, or otherwise people just didn't know what they were buying. The main complaint of all these negative reviews seems to be that the game is boring. I just want to make sure we're all on the same page here, it says Hack 'n Slash and ARPG right there in the tags. Have any of you even played an ARPG before? They are the most boring, repetitive games on the market outside of MMORPGs. Diablo 2 is the game that codified 'Doing the same thing over and over but with different colors and bigger numbers'. Hero Siege explicitly models itself after that and you mean to tell me it's too boring for you? The other recurring complaint seems to be some gibberish about the ingame shop. It's there, I guess. Just like the game itself. Besides Diablo 2 it takes strong cues from Binding Of Isaac, even copying some of the item upgrades. It's an allright game, for 1,50 euros I can't get very flustered about it either way.Show moreShow less
If you are considering buying this game, even on sale: DON'T! Long story short: devs are incompetent and painfully amateur. I had high hopes for this game, played it a lot, bought copies for friends, posted in the forums, the whole nine yards. But patch after patch was ridiculous, drastic, buggy, game changing updates from the devs along with constant item wipes. They have no concept of game design and no idea what they want. They are also vindictive and immature when they delete negative forum threads and insult their user base. This game should STILL be early access, 2 years after release. Crying shame that it's considered "finished". Oh well, I guess I expected too much. At least I know to avoid these devs and Panic Art Studios. EDIT: Haha the developer response, I just can't stop laughing. Hero Siege still needs to be early access, just look at the patch notes to see what I mean. Seriously take a read, or check the forums, the perpetual churn is STILL happening. A "final product on Steam" doesn't drastically change core mechanics and systems 2 years after release (just figure out mana, attack speed, item progression, HUD style, levelling, and waves, etc. already). Also excellent strategy to blame the community, I'm happy to see you guys are still unprofessional, immature, and rude. Nice try Panic Art Studios, but your game is still junk and this review is still 100% accurate. EDIT: 2017 update, 3 years since release, they are removing the core wave system and adding quests to their game. Seems like a drastic change for a "mature" and "finished" product that's "totally out of early access". What a joke. EDIT: 2019 update, well I forgot 2018 because this game is terrible, but hey look they're rewriting it from the ground up! Because why not when the finished product is basically early access anyway?! https://steamcommunity.com/games/269210/announcements/detail/1720837069012973330 EDIT: 2020 update, in case you missed it the CEO of this terrible company is really racist and xenophobic, search "Hero Siege racist" or (if the link is still up) look at https://www.reddit.com/r/Gamingcirclejerk/comments/f7vli0/ceo_of_panic_art_studios_posted_this_on_twitter/ EDIT: 2023 update, oh hey there's an entirely new "2.0" release for this endlessly tweaked and poked game. I have never seen devs flounder and rewrite their game so consistently for so long: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/269210/view/3711586011325739655 EDIT: 2024 update, in case you needed anymore proof the devs are absolute terrible people who don't care about their crummy indie game or their players, here's the edgelord lead dev saying "they can ♥♥♥♥ off" about customers: https://imgur.com/577qgWQ Just play Chronicon instead, it's actually a proper, finished product instead of the laughable Hero Siege.Show moreShow less
Edit, September 2019: So apparently this game has changed alot. It changed from a wave survival roguelike arena game to a full Diablo II-like roguelike RPG experience, and NOW i really can't stop playing. After 5 years! This is what EVOLUTION is. "Okay, let's play this game for 20 minutes, it will get boring after that" *Gets hooked and plays it for 13 hours straight*Show moreShow less

I've played this game in ANDROID, and now in the PC just got better! This game is very addictive and hard. You choose a character and must defeat waves of monsters, after a few waves of creatures you face bosses! Each character has its advantages and disadvantages, as well as their own weapons / spells. It has a good amount of different monsters to confront, and collect money to buy potions and stuff. And of course also has the relics that can give you an optimal help in your battle. This game is very simple, but very fun.Show moreShow less
This is what the dev thinks of the playerbase. The game used to be fantastic https://imgur.com/4EJJb9H https://imgur.com/nDt3LykShow moreShow less
Hero Siege Hero Siege is a fun bullet hell game that is similar to the Binding of Issac and has that nice rpg feel. Graphics As you can guess this game is pixelated like the olden times of games. Gameplay The gameplay for hero siege is massively enjoyable as a fun yet difficult twin stick shooter with a lot to offer. When you start off you will not have much at all but as you play the game you will recieve relics, equipment, and even potions, each adding to your abilities. The game has 7 base classes each with its own skill tree to discover and enjoy. Singleplayer So far I have only had the chance to enjoy singleplayer and the necromancer class (so this review will focus on the necromancer class). The necromancer starts off with a skill tree where you can pick to have dead hands rise from the grave around you dealing damage or having the ability to summon 3 undead maruaders to your aid. As you level up you gain new points to invest in your skills with new tiers unlocking occassionally. The maps are somewhat randomly generated and contain traps that can damage both you and you enemies. Once you beat a certain # of enemies a boss will spawn. Sometimes the boss will be easy while others are much more difficult. Once you beat a boss a portal will open to continue to the next area and the boss will sometimes leave treasure chests and a relic for you to collect. Relics/Chests ok so there are 3 types of chest you can find throughout the game. Wood Chest - as you can expect not that great loot but sometimes will drop a key Gold Chest - to open this chest you require a key and it wil usually have pretty decent items to find Crystal Chest -contains great loot and items to collect and require a crystal key to open Ok now back to relics. Relics are items you find in your game that can greatly help you. You gain relics after defeating a boss, buying from a shopkeeper or looting from a crypt/dungeon. There is an immense amount of relics that aid you throughout your journey from a hat that shoots out the symbol π at enemies to a fly swatter that does nothing but spawn a prop fly. There is an immense amount of relics so i recomment you check the wiki or the guide here on steam. Rating Pros + 7 classes with good possibilites + smooth gameplay with nice controls + i can summon the dead + pixelated and has nice rpg feel + equipment is useful + relics soooo many fun relics Cons - lagged immensly whenever i got an achievemt - dlc a bit pricey Final Thoughts Hero siege is an amazing game with alot to offer. It has been a while since i have been able to enjoy a game like this. If you love the old pixelated rpg styles and love the binding of issac or bullet hell type games give Hero Siege a shot. Final Rating 9/10Show moreShow less
I was about to reinstall the game, then noticed from the EULA: "I) Cheating: Most of these bans are handled by our automated cheat detection system. These bans are always permanent and will never be lifted." I'm setting this dev on ignore. That they'd never allow an appeal on an auto-ban is just awful.Show moreShow less
