PEOPLE WITH PHOTOSENSITIVITY SHOULD PROCEED WITH CAUTION. There is seemingly no warning re: photosensitivity on the store page, but they very much meant it in the boot-up screen. Check gameplay clips from Track 7/8 and beyond and make a determination from there, as gameplay goes from "hmm, that's a lot of flashing" to "this game could be used as a strobe in an EEG" past this point. The only reason this gets a negative review is because there are no photosensitivity toggles at this time which leaves me unable to complete story mode, and I cannot leave a neutral review with which to warn photosensitive players. Hopefully Rhythm Tower is less flashy and possible for me to play, but I will not know until I borrow a friend's save file. Gameplay is really fun, the tone is cheeky and silly, combat is dripping with style, and the moveset opens a lot of possibilities in terms of fun combos, though. If you don't have epilepsy and/or migraines, I do recommend you try it out. Should this game ever receive photosensitivity toggles in its accessibility menu, I'd be happy to change this to a positive review because in the end, I really adore this game and am a bit heartbroken I cannot complete it at this time!Show moreShow less

An Overhyped Mess Hi-Fi Rush may have an appealing animation and art style, but it's designed with a PlayStation 2-era mindset. It is entertaining for a short while, but the gameplay is too generic, flat, and boring and is combined with cliché and mediocre storytelling. Even though the game provides some moves for you to use, there are no varied scenarios that allow you to use those combos or change your playstyle. You fight the same enemies all the time. You can't see what you are doing because the effects and everything blend into each other. No need to overhype this shadow drop like this is the only mid action/rhythm game out there. Unfortunately Hi-Fi Rush is a repetitive drag. BRONZE MEDAL Follow My Curator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/40523765-Bearsonal/Show moreShow less

This protagonist feels like he was specifically created to annoy me. I don't like leaving reviews for incomplete games—I do want to play the rest of this game but I just can't get past this dude's grating dialogue. To be clear: the combat is enjoyable, I do like it, and I like the general vibe, but I just can't abide by the writing and voice acting choices made within the first hour. For every moment where I thought "this is cool. I like it a lot," I had 10 other thoughts that went something along the lines of "please god, put a muzzle on him." I don't even think it's the voice actor's fault, it just seems like he was given bad direction.Show moreShow less
So, get this. Instead of hyping up the game for years before launch, making empty promises and dumping millions into marketing, these guys poured the cash into development instead, made a game, and released it. And didn't even tell anyone about it, until it was ready. And it was ready. None of that "day 1 patch" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. No Early Access. No "beta". No constant crashes, framerate drops, gamebreaking bugs. This ♥♥♥♥ is polished, and complete. And, stay with me - it's fun. That's it. It's just FUN. It doesn't have to be anything more - it's not thought-provoking, it won't keep you awake at night, it's not a deep and complex experience. It's just unapologetically fun. You run around a corporate city, and beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of robots to the beat of rock music. What more could you want from a video game? You've got fun combat, simple, but engaging gimmicks, fantastic art style, great music, and it's 30$. Just get the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Unless Bethesda actually learns something from their third-party studios and Starfield is a finished game on launch, this is GOTY.Show moreShow less
while this game has some really good accessibility features, the fact is that even with its "one button qtes" i still get hand cramps from the overly long qtes, meaning i cannot complete them without being in pain. actively killed my enjoyment of an otherwise pretty good game. if an update releases that lets you skip qtes, i'll update my review to reflect that. otherwise, if you have similar issues or disabilities, you might wanna give this game a pass.Show moreShow less
where were you when microsoft silently dropped GOTY 2023 where were you when microsoft shut down the studio that gave them the best Xbox game in a decade? where were you when.. krafton revived the studio and got denuvo removed? huh. okayShow moreShow less
Maybe my expectations were too high due to all the praise this game is getting, but after 5 hours (of which I enjoyed the first 2-3), I'm done with it. I enjoy DmC, like rhythm games and grew up playing console games in the 90s, so this should be right up my alley, but it just bored me. The rhythm fighting was enjoyable for a bit, but the walking around in between felt boring, the platforming felt clumsy and the story is just very simple and not engaging. Since 97% of people love it, you should probably give it a try, but I would suggest waiting for a decent discount. For me this was a hard miss.Show moreShow less
