I'll start by saying what everyone else is saying; this is a masterclass in tension building. The setting makes you uncomfortably claustrophobic, the audio is present enough to put you on edge while not being overpowering, and there are a few moments to cause panic or paranoia throughout. Szymanski is a brilliant gamemaker, and this is one of his best. Mostly. Minor spoilers for the ending, no specifics. Tension is one thing, but tension without a satisfying release leaves you feeling ultimately unfulfilled. As great as the tension building is (and it is great!), the payoff is... Well, non-existent. I loved the final section of the game, and was excited for how it would conclude, and in short it... Didn't conclude, honestly. This is a game sorely in need of alternate endings, because despite the low price tag the climax is, is in my opinion, bordering on absent.Show moreShow less

I feel a little guilty reviewing it negatively, because I knew it would be short and I didn't expect a whole lot in the first place, plus it was actually pretty suspenseful at first. Despite this, it was underwhelming. It kinda feels like I paid 6 whole dollars just to click 2 buttons and listen to creepy ambiance. I just kinda expected something maybe a tiny bit more interesting. It wasn't bad, I just probably wouldn't have spent 6 dollars on it.Show moreShow less

It's a novel and reasonably well-constructed horror experience, but frankly, 7.99 for a 45-minute game with zero reply value is egregious. I haven't refunded it out of respect for the creator, but there's a reason that 2-hour limit exists, to discurage creators charging money for experiences that can be completed in a lunch break. Because this game should be free, it's just not long enough to justify a price tag, 0.99 would be reasonable, 2.99 would be justifiable, but 7.99 is simply not worth it. Price aside, iron-lung has almost no gameplay, you navigate from point to point very slowly using the sub controls. While excellent sound design and tactful placement of the points of interest keeps the experience tense and engaging, the game is ultimately a 45-minute buildup to a PNG jumpscare. Conclusion: Just watch a lets-play, it has approximately the same entertainment value, and is free. Don't recommend buying.Show moreShow less

An hour and $6 for a jumpscare? Not worth it. I won't refund it for the dev's sake, but I wouldn't recommend it. Cool premise, but nothing cooler than you get just from reading the store description. No, pyrocynical's video did not make the game any more worthwhile.Show moreShow less
