This is a tough one to leave a fair review on. The game is good, it is enjoyable and it is well made. It's just the price tag that i think makes it really tricky. I did enjoy the game, but at the price, was it worth it? It took me 5 hours to complete, and honestly, i was taking it very slow, you could do it in 2-3. With that in mind, if you are willing to pay the price tag for a short, well made experience, then go ahead but be informed of the very short game time. This is a positive review, and isn't a criticism, its just trying to help people be informed before they buy.Show moreShow less

Jusant has good art direction and audio design but has a one-note story and is unfortunately very short and mechanically shallow. It took me 2.2 hours to beat, I don't think I rushed, I read logs and letters, listened to the audio vignettes, pet the blue blob, and found glowy wall murals ect. You could probably beat the game in a little over an hour if you rushed. The two videos on the Steam store will show you all the mechanics and environment iterations in the entire game. Climbing is forgiving to a fault, both grip triggers have to be released for what feels like about half a second for you to start falling. Because of this, you can just hold up and rapidly and loosely alternate L and R triggers without any risk of falling. The ability to pause mid-climb and regain stamina at any time makes the climbing even less of a challenge and removes any need to pause and plan a route before starting a section. Once you realize you can just mash LR triggers and stamina is largely a non-issue the game becomes only as interesting in a climbing section in an Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, or Tomb Rader game. I can see the potential for a mechanically interesting and engaging game if there were some real limitations and the actual possibility of failing and losing more than 4 seconds of progress.Show moreShow less
This game is beautiful. It's what I loved about the original Assassin's Creed games, minus the murder.Show moreShow less
Jusant was somewhat of a mixed bag for me. I DID enjoy my time with it, don't get me wrong, but there are issues. I see a lot of people comment about the length of the game, but I don't mind a shorter experience. I also don't dislike that u get to learn all the mechanics in the first half-hour of the game, this is more about how you use them, rather than anything else. My problem is purely on a technical standpoint: I kept getting stuck on environment A LOT. Like, I was not trying to go out of my way to find my way into weird nocks n cranys, but I had to wiggle myself free constantly. And if something like that happens once or 2x, you will probably not even notice it but it happend over a dozend times, to the point of actually becoming frustrating. Now I would say that the game is still fun and interesting, but I would advise you to wait for a sale, because by the time one of those rolls around the corner, the devs will hopefully have fixed those technical issues(if those can be fixed? I dunno if thats a fixable issue tbh. If it ain't, you can still have fun with the game either way, but it definitly lessens the experience).Show moreShow less
Chill game, with crisp sound effects and a soundtrack on "Ori" level. Best enjoyed with headphones.Show moreShow less
probably too late to save anyone the purchase but this game has frankly nothing to bring to the table. at first glance the climbing appears interesting, but it's a thin veeneer over a very linear walking simulator type experience. you can't explore at all and the one path you're allowed to climb is boring up until the very end, made even worse by the absolute absence of failure. despite being 3 hours long there is a distinct lack of polish, climbing is "solved" by just spamming grabs up and to the side, jumping and getting up a ledge feel incredibly inconsistent and later maps (after chapter 1 basically) have hard to distinguish grab points because of bad lighting and nothing to tell apart non interactable decorations from interactable ones. the worst thing for me though was how the game made me feel ripped off, first for starting the player at the middle of the mountain, then for robbing interesting gameplay setpieces from the player by having it done in cutscenes and finally by simply skipping half of the mountain in the second to last chapter with a setpiece that amounted to a 15-30 second climb.Show moreShow less
