Right now? No. All of the Issues that the Epic Games Version has are transferred over. I have to actively wait for a unofficial community patch to support this version so i can at least play KH2. i.e 144hz breaks fmv cutscenes and in-game. you either have to cap your monitor OR your game at 60hz. alternatively tweak something in the GPU settings. If that's ever going to get fixed is a mystery to me. Probably not, but here's to hoping. A mostly full list of issues documented can be found here.Show moreShow less

I respect Square Enix for providing a discount upon launch on Steam. However, within the first 20 minutes of playing the game, I'm encountering performance issues. Issues that were also on the EGS, as well as Xbox One from posts made three years ago. The audio is crackling both in the main menu and in-game. It doesn't happen during a Discord stream, but happened with two separate audio output devices. Additionally, my game crashed at the first save, sending me back and requiring me to restart the first 10 minutes of gameplay. It suddenly started working again after restarting. Controller support doesn't work properly. I'm attempting to play the game on a DualSense controller, but certain buttons don't work. I'm unable to open the menu unless I switch to keyboard/mouse. Please fix this, Square Enix. The Epic Game Store were like your beta testers. How could you port this onto Steam and still have performance issues?Show moreShow less

These are my favorite games of all time, flaws and all. I was so excited to finally get to play them on my Steam Deck all cozy in bed. Imagine my disappointment when I realize not only are these "new" ports still just as unstable as they were on EGS, but they somehow made them worse. I'm gonna list below issues specific to the Steam Deck, this new port, and then legacy issues from the EGS version that need to be fixed before I can recommend these versions. STEAM DECK ISSUES: - Audio crackles on my non OLED Steam Deck whenever a BGM is playing. Its distracting and awful to listen to. - The screen squashes when using the native 16:10 800p resolution, making the feature of supporting the resolution useless. New Issues: - The AI upscaled textures look truly awful and lack any polish. Any time a texture contains any type of shading thats supposed to create depth or a shadow is completely flattened, All dithered patterns that are supposed to create a gradient are deep fried and create a zit pattern instead. - Some models now load the incorrect textures. - The whole selling point of this version were the textures and theyre awful. Please give the option to downgrade to the older textures. Legacy Issues - Instability. The game does not handle alt tabbing or framerates higher than 60 well. The games can crash easily resulting in hours of progress potentially being lost or corrupting saves. - The fullscreen mode is pointless as the second you alt tab it switches back to windowed mode. - Many sound effects are broken and lack reverb like Xigbar's guns. - The game's frametime delivery system is just broken. If you try to use gsync the game is a suttery mess. If you disable it the game can still stutter on loads. - The higher framerate options above 60 are worthless not just because of increased instability, but because some objects when rendered on screen force the game back down to 60 anyway. These are the main issues but there are others like COM lacking its alt control options or it still lacking basic additions like dual audio or cutscenes above 30 fps, but those I can stand recommending without. The main issues I listed NEED to be addressed. Most of them have needed to be for THREE YEARS on EGS. Please dont leave the games I love in this stateShow moreShow less

Beware. Currently unplayable on ALL AMD Radeon 7000 cards (Especially 7900 XT and XTX). No fix for 3 years but finally Square Enix acknowledged the driver issues. Hopefully AMD and Square Enix can fix it.Show moreShow less
