As much as i like this game, i don't think i can recommend it, which is also a reason why i would like steam to implement an in between option instead of just yes or no. So to preface this. I really did enjoy the game. The reason i can't recommend it is that at 20 euro for 4-5 hours playtime, is just way too much. It also lacks replayability so it's pretty much a one and done game. It's otherwise a great game, but i would urge people to get it on sale.Show moreShow less

Yikes. Really disappointed with this game based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews flying around. You start on a small island and run around smashing cardboard and doing a couple of random fetch quests, and then when you're done that, you do it all over again, only on a much, much larger island. With no maps or quest markers, no real directions as to where to go, just... "hey all these people just took off across the island, go find them, and then come find me. I also will be somewhere else by that time." Fetch quests, "hey go find this bug, look for a fallen log." Where? Pfft, find it yourself! Have fun traversing the island. And much, much, much, much, much more cardboard smashing. Additionally, the characters have no character. They're all very alike. Additionally additionally, even after you 'gather' them and send them to the playground, they do not move. They will appear at the playground if you go there, but they're also still hanging around in their original spot. So, you know, good luck figuring out who you have and haven't gathered after awhile. And worst of all, the playe character just comes off as... a pest. Everybody has to play their game, the way they want to play it, at the time they want to play it. Who cares if other people have plans? YOU'RE here now, it's time to play YOUR game! I'm frankly baffled because I don't really know who this game is aimed at. It's far too simplistic for adults, but also, what kid is going to take in the idea of older kids/young adults needing to focus on schoolwork enough to take in the lesson to... not overly focus on schoolwork? (At least that's the lesson I presume comes at the end, for all I know it's an outright "**** homework, kids!" or like, rocks fall, all the kids die, "should have focused on your homework, kids!") So I played this for about 2 hours and then went back to look at the reviews, baffled, and saw one that mentioned it's 6 hours of playtime or so, and... there's no way in heck I'm going to spend twice the amount of time I've already spent doing THE EXACT SAME THING.Show moreShow less

About 2 hours in. It's cute, but kinda boring. Very text heavy and there really isn't much of a story. Just "kidsy" characters acting like kids and being cute. There isn't really a challenge to the game with no enemies, besides not getting lost. The story isn't anything special, the humor isn't really funny. Like I said, it's very text heavy and the characters all talk like "Gen Z" people, it's made me feel physical cringe a few times. The reason I got this game is because I wanted something casual to play. Which this game does, but maybe too much? I don't think it's necessarily a bad game, but it's not for me.Show moreShow less

I went into this figuring it would be another cute exploring game like "A Short Hike" but there was a lot more text, a lot more redundancy, and a leans a bit too much into the "cute." I wish there was more to this, but this isn't a game I can enjoy for long.Show moreShow less
every time i turned a corner in this game i was like "wow it would be cool if i could interact with that thing" and every time i could interact with that thing. also very cute i criedShow moreShow less
Like somebody else wrote 'Pretty much "A Short Hike" in 3D, with elements from Zelda BOTW.' But although I loved A short hike this did not click with me. Navigation was too cumbersome. I don't know if A Short Hike had the advantage of being more vertical than lil gator game and flying was more prominent as means of movement but I was constantly lost in a lil gator game to the point that it annoyed me. Also the gameplay loop felt so shallow. Looking back all I did was talk to people and break stuff, thats just not enough to keep me entertained for that long.Show moreShow less
