Well, I had a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blast with this game, but unfortunately, I can't recommend buying it, because Kwalee is utter garbage and layed off the entire staff not even a month after launch. ♥♥♥♥ that, and ♥♥♥♥ them. https://gameinformer.com/2026/06/16/weeks-after-launching-luna-abyss-its-entire-development-team-at-kwalee-labs-has-been I was so happy to see something reasonably priced and just a solid well made linear game ityool 2026, but I should've expected higher ups in a company would just ♥♥♥♥ over devs yet again. Won't make this mistake again, ♥♥♥♥ off.Show moreShow less
Sadly, the entire development team was laid off by the publisher - directly after release of this gem of a game. Not a purchase to support the developers, then :(Show moreShow less
This game reminds me of Scorn. the environments are great, controls are great. I enjoyed the platfoming, the Story is basic (and full of pronone idology) and just like the Scorn the ending is absolute trash.Show moreShow less
7 years of work, one month of sale, entire team laid off Despite critical acclaim (81 on OpenCritic, very positive on Steam), despite 15.4k sales as of now according to SteamDB (and 44.3k according to PlayTracker), the team has been laid off. F*ck you Kwalee, you had one job, that is to say f*cking advertize the game. This game oozes with style, a narrative bullet-hell inside a megastructure moon-like with amazing voice acting, really really awesome music, a juicy gameplay when fighting, that transforms into 3D platforming outside of combat. I've been seduced by the game the moment it started, a really strong introduction and with a well designed eerie atmosphere. The game is beautiful when it lets you contemplate its environment. The story, cryptic at first, will not be for everyone, but it delivers for me. There are accessibility options, that I activated for the very last fight which was brutal. Frankly awesome, go try it. F*ck Kwalee.Show moreShow less
A very mediocre shooter-slash-walking sim. It has a pretty unique "feel" about it, and the environments in it are quite cool, but unfortunately at this point the list of "pros" just ends. Everything related to gameplay is quite uninspired: if we talk about everything aside from shooting, then take Doom Eternal, make jump puzzles about thrice as simple and insert pretty long sequences of just runs and jumps everywhere - and you'll arrive at Luna Abyss. The "walking sim" part is not a mistake here, quite a lot of game time will go towards just walking and very obvious jumping. Combat arenas are pretty few, and for the simplistic railroaded combat we have here - it's quite enough, even with these few arenas it's already repetitious. Some fights (not nearly all of them) are actually pretty nicely made and have reasonably good overall difficulty (provided you're playing on the highest difficulty). But it's a "too little too late" problem, few good fights per level are not enough to break pretty rigid monotony of everything else. It's not a terrible game, not nearly - but the positives do not outweight the blandness of gameplay.Show moreShow less
Recommended ✅ Luna Abyss is a first person bullet hell shooter with Metroid-like exploration and a combat system that will feel instantly familiar if you've played Returnal or Saros. Waves of projectiles, lock-on targeting, constant movement. It's fast, reactive, and really satisfying once it clicks. On Steam Deck specifically: The game locks you out of video settings by default and forces a preset. To unlock the settings menu add SteamDeck=0 %command% to your Steam launch options. Once you do, the game opens up properly. For performance, Lowest preset gets you a native 90 FPS. Medium is more interesting - it can push 90 in lighter areas but realistically targets 45 FPS in the bigger sections. That actually makes it a perfect candidate for Lossless Scaling 2x, which gets you 90 FPS with a better looking image than Lowest. Battery at 45 FPS cap sits around 3 hours, which is solid for this type of game. Accessibility options are also worth mentioning - there's a good range including traversal skip and platform helpers that genuinely change how the game can be experienced. Good to see. If you are on the fence, stop sitting on it and buy this game :D Video review: https://youtu.be/BvH3VaszzAgShow moreShow less

Highly recommended. Not entirely original, but a blast to play and made hours feel like minutes. Quick note regarding all the bs around the game - a good game isn't made bad by a single dialogue choice, and if you think it does, you are a bot and a slave to the culture wars. To the normal not permanently triggered folk - I hope you enjoy the game as much as I did.Show moreShow less
They put pronoun garbage and LGBT stuff in the latter half of the game. I'm sure it was intentional so people couldn't refund it. I'll never buy a game from this dev again and will be rooting for them to go out of business.Show moreShow less
