It was on sale for 3 bucks so I picked it up despite the review saying it doesn't work on win 11 I have win11 and it works fine. Just wanted to throw that out there. Seems pretty fun so farShow moreShow less
The fact that this game has been exclusive on EGS for one entire year and STILL releases in this state gives me zero confidence that Tripwire will ever fix it. Performance issues even on high-end cards (likely because of Denuvo) and atrocious game-breaking bugs are still present and accounted for. You couldn't have invested some of that Epic exclusivity $$$ into fixing the game before release? The game itself is fine for what it is. Certainly not for everyone but there is mindless fun to be had. However, anyone interested should definitely wait for at least a 50% discount. After a year of waiting for this game, I feel ripped off.Show moreShow less

WARNING, THIS GAME WILL CRASH ON YOUR PC. There is a issue with the game since 2020 that crashes pc. There are 2 ways the game will crash you. The first method crashes to the desktop with a UE4 error messege that pops up. I suggest sending the info about the crash to Epic Games using the send and report button in the pop up error messege that appears. This crash does not delete your saves. The second method crashes the whole pc. THIS TYPE OF CRASH WILL DELETE YOUR SAVE GAME. Because of the severity of this issue, i cannot recommend this game at this time, and i will explain the game itself below. You can make a backup save for your game, and i made a guide about how to manually backup your save in case of above crash happens. Here is a link to the guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2834061190 Hello friends, Today i will be reviewing the game MANEATER. A game that lets you play as a female bull shark. The developer says it is a shark rpg which is kinda what it is. The fact there is a game breaking bug in the game does reduce it's fun factor a bit, but the whole thing is quite fun to play. There are many things to do in the game, including side quests and even a DLC to get. There are even collectible parts that can be upgraded to tier 5 level and can make your female bull shark very powerful. PROS: - This version has the pre-order tiger shark skin. - A rpg where the main character is a female bull shark. - Upgradeable parts that you need to find and collect. - DLC with time trials. - Many quests and side quests to find and to do. CONS: - A game breaking bug that crashes your whole pc and deletes your saves. The developers known about issue since 2020 and yet to fix it. - Stuttering and slow down issues. - Sometimes quest markers do not show up where the next goal is. I do not recommend this game until the developer takes a serious stand on fixing it. At this point, until the major bug is fixed, do not buy this game. If you really want it, get it on a heavily discounted price. BE aware i suggest if you do get it, make a backup save. When this game gets fixed permanently, i will change this review from negative to postive. NOTE: Since this game does not crash for everyone's pc, and people assume it is just because i have a trash pc below, i will also provide these examples to show it is not just effecting me since some people choose not to read the forum for other people with same issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/629820/discussions/0/3426690213924271387/ https://steamcommunity.com/app/629820/discussions/0/3464975249554368533/ There are even examples from 2021 that still this bug is still present in, so it has not been fixed because i imagine the difficulty of finding the bug.Show moreShow less
I love this game. I bought it on the Epic Games Store when it was new and I got 100% completion in about 14 hours. After finishing it I still wanted more so I continued playing for three more days just having fun attacking things. I liked it enough that I payed for it a second time on Steam and finished all of it this time in about 10 hours. This may be the only game I have ever completed to 100%. Shortly after finishing the game for the first time there was an update that made the final boss harder and they weren't joking. I was on about 15% health for the whole fight. I had to use all of my Maneater skills to survive. Apart from the last fight the hardest part of the game was in the first area. Your shark will be anywhere from level 1 - 6 and the first area has you fighting level 8 - 15 alligators. It seemed to be an odd decision by the developers. Maneater does lag. It doesn't seem to matter what settings you play on there will be the occasional FPS drop when loading parts of the world. The game also crashes sometimes. I was hoping these things would be fixed in time for the Steam version but they were not. This would be a 10/10 game if it were more stable. This game was clearly made to be as fun as possible. I give it a 9/10Show moreShow less
President of the company has come out as a religious zealot who views The Handmaids Tale as something to aspire to and is anti-choice. Cannot in good faith recommend this game to anyone because of that.Show moreShow less

It's arcade-y fun, but worth $10-$15 if it was fully functional. I can't recommend even on sale due to DRM stutters/poor performance, they would have to pay me to recommend this game in it's current state. Spoiler alert, it's got a few critical issues which are primarily why I cannot recommend the game. Issue #1: 12th/13th/14th Generation Intel CPUs crash your game upon launch without extra steps to force compatibility. You will need to go into the steam discussions or guides to find a set of Launch commands to be able to play the game. This game was initially released in May 2020, which means they have stopped native support for newer hardware immediately following launch (12th gen Intel CPUs released in 2021). Another embarrassing oversight from Tripwire Interactive's recent releases. Issue #2 (IMPORTANT): Denuvo. The Denuvo triggers in this game are horrific, imagine that this game's map is split into 2000x2000 small squares. When you travel, you will pass an invisible grid line that triggers a Denuvo check (DRM Stutter). In most games with "well implemented" Denuvo, you may see a Denuvo DRM stutter during a cutscene or when entering a larger section of the map; that is not the case here. Since you are a shark and the point of the game is to swim around, you will get a Denuvo related lag-spike every 5-10 seconds of normal gameplay. These are not small stutters, they are mostly screen freezing head turning stutters that will quickly drain your sanity. Sometimes you pass through an intersection of multiple grid lines, this seems to run the Denuvo DRM check twice or even up to 4 times in the same moment; contributing to a larger lag spike. Denuvo related DRM stutters are the only reasonable explanation for the inexcusable performance this game suffers from. Avoid until they get rid of Denuvo. This game has been out for a few years, it has been given away for free on other platforms in the past and is currently only $4 during this Steam sale. You are going to have a significantly worse experience playing on a legitimate copy vs anyone who decided to pirate the game for a DRM-free experience, which is unacceptable and disproportionately impacts only paying customers. This is Tripwire Interactive's only game implementing Denuvo, meaning it was a conscience decision for the studio to use an extremely divisive DRM to protect a shark game. Mind blowing stuff. Just avoid, come back if they come to their senses (they have not announced any intention to do so in December 2025).Show moreShow less
