The more you play the more you realise this is a mile wide and an inch deep. It has the bones of a solid game but the majority of items need a re-balance as most are useless. You can't get a good run going unless you use the 'meta' items, If you don't have the meta items the stage 3 boss is a joke. It just needs a really good balance pass throughout. Amazing first impressions. Super fun and addicting game. Then once you reach tier 3, it all falls apart. The balance is a mess, or should I say, the game has so many guardrails to prevent you becoming very strong because it seems that the devs are terrified of you becoming overpowered. If I posted a review prior to reaching tier 3, I would easily recommend it because the game is genuinely super damn fun at the start, but now that I've gotten deeper into the game and its systems. Honestly, I would not recommend it until further updates address these issues.Show moreShow less

The difficulty in this game is just kinda wack. Early on it's your standard roguelite bullet hell, you win some you lose some. But when you are hitting later levels you have to have the exact perfect build to finish. Some of the challenges similarly, if you don't have exactly what you need to beat it you just have to repeatedly try again which is a real boring way of going about it when everything is random. I want wacky builds, not min max for perfect effectiveness otherwise you lose. Edit: Apparently I need to spell it out for some people, it's not a skill issue problem, it's a replayablity problem. I play a lot of reverse bullet hells, this is the only one that rail roads you down having to pick the same build every run. It's boring, it kills repayablity, why do a run in this game with my limited time that will be exact same as the previous run when I could just play a different reverse bullet hell and have a different experience to my previous run because I do a completely different build, doesn't matter if I lose or not, the experience was different. But in Megabonk I usually know if I'll die to the final boss within the first 5 minutes because I couldn't get the optimal build in time and just have to restart.Show moreShow less

My dad gifted this to me (hes the goat) and I've played this game both at my house and with him at his house. He is the biggest GOAT I have ever met. We play together and find busted builds and weird glitches in the game and its so fun. best game I've ever played! The game really needs an update and some rebalancing. Right now, it feels like you’re forced into a narrow set of builds just to reach the end, which takes away a lot of the fun. Build diversity should be encouraged, not punished. Experimenting is part of what makes games like this enjoyable.Show moreShow less
