TLDR: The game encourages counter-game strategy. That's not fun. A bit less TLDR: Your job is to connect consumers with roads to their color-coded mall. So you'd think using traffic lights and roundabouts would be actually really helpful, but not really, no. That's because the game doesn't follow reality. It is not that houses (consumers) pop into the neighborhood, and want to go to the malls (all of them). It's that the mall has a demand for consumers, and demands that cars will arrive in a timely manner. That places the game in a critical juncture: You do not have to connect every single house to the road system. And so, to really play the game, you must avoid intersections, roundabouts, etc, at all costs, because it's much more optimal, and plausible, to have a one-road system in which one mall = one road to 3-4 houses max, with "motorways", bridges and or tunnels. All that means is that the game is much simpler than it seems at first glance. It simply does NOT motivate you to play with its particular game mechanics. A fancy city with nifty traffic systems is simply not possible. Not if you aim to go anywhere above 1,700 points. In summary, while I do not fully regret buying the game, I am disappointed in it. Mini-Metro was a lot less complicated mechanics-wise, but at least it was much more robust than this game. Any and all mechanics Metro has, are useful, unlike in Motorways.Show moreShow less

As a fan of Mini Metro, I want to like this game just as much. I really do. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite live up to its predecessor and I would recommend passing on it at the current price. First off, there's just less content overall. Mini Metro offers unique challenges in each level in order to add extra replayability and variety, and they're conspicuously absent here. Also, in Mini Metro if a station started to overload, you typically felt like you could pause the game and make some routing changes to recover. In Mini Motorways, once a building starts warning you of insufficient trips being completed, it's usually too late to do anything about it. This is because removing a road takes a LONG time, as every car planning to use that road segment has to complete its round-trip before the road will be fully removed. If you're needing to move a roundabout or motorway, you'll just never get it removed in time to save the buildings that are about to timeout and cause your game to end. In addition to that fairly fatal flaw, it's simply not as fun to plan roads and routes in this game as compared to Mini Metro. Buildings pop up in odd places, sometimes directly connected to roads in an inconvenient way, and the entrances can't be moved, so you're stuck creating some really odd looping roads just to get to the entrance sometimes. Houses also pop up continuously and much of your time will be spent simply dragging to attach those to the ever-more-ridiculously looking "neighborhoods" popping up all over the place. When you add in other minor complaints like motorways not being able to connect directly to roundabouts or intersections with traffic lights and the menu not quite behaving in a consistent or logical manner, it just adds up to a package that feels incomplete and a bit rushed. I'm hoping to be able to update this review if they address some of these concerns and add content, but for now I'd have to recommend skipping this one.Show moreShow less

10/10 game. It's one of my comfort games. Just a shame that the developers are bullying independent solo developers over games with the similar concepts just cus "I rElEaSeD iT fIrSt!!!!" Edit: Dino Polo Club is no longer going after All Quiet Roads. Huge poggers to them for realizing their mistake!Show moreShow less
do not trust the Traffic Light. it lives only to charm and beguile you. the only truth is in the infinite cycle of life and death. trust in the Roundabout.Show moreShow less
