I offered vodka to a dwarf and made him follow me to my home, then I enslaved him to do my forced labor. After that I turned on the pc and played the game. 10/10Show moreShow less
It's honestly overall a competent game. Played solo, it can create tense situations and has some very creative ideas in it. But: 1. Whenever the bomber plane drops the tinnitus, I have to put my headphones down. The noise is so loud and lasts so long, every time it happens, it makes me seriously want to put the game down. Every game nowadays has a seizure warning, but none have a tinnitus warning, which can also seriously freak some people out and which is a baffling double standard. 2. Enemy AI is seriously buggy and will sometimes just straight up break. 3. The loot is the game. Outside the bunker, there is no meta-progression. No missions or side-quests. Only going out for loot again and again. The looting is fun, but gets boring fast.Show moreShow less

Love the game, sadly its filled with trolls and my 3 hour lobby was destroyed by one guy stealing all my stuff and hiding it in the expedition so no one could find it. Theres no ban option, report option, you can only kick them and they can rejoin seconds after you kick them. You guys need a ban and a report option or i just see this situation getting worse.Show moreShow less
Seeing someone actually get DMCA'd for being a STALKER clone feels like seeing a cop go to prison. Us STALKER fans have been wanting a multiplayer project for years. I bought this just to spite GSC Game World. Welcome back, MISERY.Show moreShow less
Note: I don't regret my purchase, if this game gets more work and updates, great, if not, I'm not surprised by what I've heard about the developer. Misery could be a really good game, but it's overshadowed by a variety of problems in its early development and I cannot say in good faith if they will ever be rectified. I will draw a lot of comparisons to Stalker as this is heavily derivative of the STALKER series. The graphical style isn't bad, but it is massively underwhelming compared to the not so recent Abiotic Factor which managed it far better and with insanely better performance and optimisation. This game is lacking some serious work in regards to optimisation or there's serious problems with a memory leak or something, because the game will just tank performance eventually for nothing. It goes without saying that the game often has numerous bizarre issues; such as the hotbar not working, maps not loading for clients, map generation placing things in idiotic places (like artifacts on top of anomalies, making it impossible to grab), guns getting stuck on reload? getting stuck on terrain places, building mechanics just simply not working, etc... Area variety is kind of sad, all maps feel horribly empty in both resources and scenery. Crafting and traders are also horribly set currently, there's very little use to traders most of the time outside of a few key items. (both because the economy is awful or they just don't sell anything worth wasting rubles on) Crafting has different problems, plastic is a resource that just seems forgotten about, I don't know why it's so popular yet so difficult to locate, it's not even sold like the others... Plenty of potential recipes are missed out on also, military gas masks for example explicitly state the combination of a PMK-2 gas mask and helmet, but you can't make them? Performance is just weird. It's all over the place, Apartment maps tend to be the crux of huge framerate drops. Artifact hunting just kind of sucks, good luck. Weapons and gear. Information on basically everything is damn non-existant. All melee weapons may as well be doing the same thing to enemies. All guns are clearly similar outside of a few outliers *cough Saiga 12 cough* and many are just horribly balanced outside of any expectation... (AK-47 chambered in 5.56 instead of 7.62 anyone?) Inventory management isn't bad, but stack sizes are often ridiculous, bullet stacks for example are idiotically small and limited, which makes buying ammo horrible and it doesn't even make sense when you need to hand load a magazine first typically? So... how does this f#ck up in all the little ways that even current Stalker 2 is better at? Traders, it's been said, but even trade in stalker is better and that games economy was garbage, so this ones is worse than garbage. There's basically no real use for them, they rarely have anything that matters outside of a few bags, you can easily play without interacting with them? If there's no use for them, that's a fundamental design failure. Anomalies, stalker handles anomalies in a way that makes them both fearsome but also navigable, especially for the budding artifact hunters. Stalker anomalies can either be temporariloy subverted via the trusty bolt throw or are much more clear in their area of effect, in this, they're just a huge pain in the ass and if an artifact is inside one, rip. Stalker artifacts are also much more consistent, finding them in this is not necessarily uncommon, just very random and I have had a tremendously unlucky streak (seeing as trying to find any with apartment maps if not going to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ happen). Loot, stalker loot is consistent, it may not be excessively rewarding, but when you kill something, you get something, or whatever they were wearing and holding typically. In this, it's largely a tedious case of getting hit or shot at for no reward. Zombies and plague doctors are horrible examples of frustration. Most mutants are not rewarding for getting rid of either. Even Stalker fixed this to a degree with mutants. Honestly, just pick something Stalker does that is a feature of gameplay in this and you'll see this is inferior. Building mechanics, I've rarely been so confused and frustrated by building mechanics like this, it just sucks and is horrible to play with. I'm genuinely so confused by how bad it is. I've played countless survival games with base building and this is the worst. In all honesty, I got this because "multiplayer stalker", my friends had this and I doubt friends were going to grab an old STALKER game and mod it. This game even tries to cash in on a mods name I believe. A sad pitiful thing. I've had fun with friends but this is the type of game, that, if it didn't exist on steam tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised and wouldn't care. I have more fun games, better made games and they're much older too. I don't regret my purchase, if this game gets more work and updates, great, if not, I'm not surprised by what I've heard about the developer.Show moreShow less
Originally pirated the game (I know its 1 dev i feel really bad) I enjoyed it so much i bought the game so far so good, good job devs *clap clap* edit:My fault for pirating misery I just wanted to try the game out before buying please stop arguing and Misery should prolly get some optimization its a small game but it lags quite a bit so hopefully they make it optimized fingers crossedShow moreShow less
Lots of love went into this and it shows, but this is by no means a finished product, and it is misleading not to label it as 'Early Access'. So even though it is entertaining enough to pay $5 for, and it likely will get even better in the future, the dishonesty about the state of it makes me want to not recommend it. You can't even host a server twice without having to relaunch the game. Your game state isn't always fully preserved by the save function. The memory leaks are everywhere. The economy balance is weird and wonky. And there's also no endgame or a final objective, so you technically can't 'finish' the game (you can say it's a sandbox and you will probably be right, but this box isn't deep enough). P.S. 5 баллов за панельки.Show moreShow less
step 1: discover a stash full of vodka step 2: find abandoned village inhabited by domovois step 3: befriend couple of them with vodka and make them follow you step 4: hear distant buzzing sound and see tupolev strategic bomber flying overhead step 5: watch your little comrades get absolutely obliterated in carpet bombing step 6: get traumatized and quit the game i rate this game 5 domovois out of 5.Show moreShow less
I really wanted to like this game because the atmosphere, retro PS2-style visuals, and general survival vibe are great. The world feels interesting and there’s definitely something compelling about the setting. However, the combat completely killed the experience for me. After about 7 hours of gameplay on the easiest difficulty, I finally obtained a Mosin-Nagant expecting it to feel like a meaningful upgrade from melee combat. Instead, I encountered an unarmored human enemy at point blank range, and it took four headshots to kill him. That completely destroyed any sense of weapon progression or satisfaction. The Mosin should feel powerful and rewarding for accurate shots, but instead it felt weak even in the most ideal conditions possible. I don’t mind difficult or survival focused games, but this crossed the line from challenging into frustrating. It made combat feel inconsistent and unrewarding, which is a huge problem in a game that relies so heavily on survival encounters. If the weapon balance or damage consistency were improved, this could be a much stronger experience, because the atmosphere and idea behind the game are genuinely good.Show moreShow less
