I do recommend this game, but since every other review is positive I'm going to give some negativity The saving system requires you to: 1. Be at home 2. Have gas in the generator (If you have no gas and it's sunday you just have to wait until the gas stop opens tomorrow) 3. Have the generator running 4. Wait a minute or two for the PC to turn on (For some reason it takes ages) 5. Sit down 6. "Play games" on the computer, which takes half a minute And your game is saved This saving system does not respect your time at all and forces you to keep it open until it decides you can leaveShow moreShow less

I'm being extra harsh on this Early Access game as the overwhelmingly positive reviews seem to ensure this game is a guaranteed safe buy when it's definitely not. When I was looking to buy this game I only saw meme-y reviews that never broke down the good and bad of the game so this review is for the people who are unsure. Positives: +Driving is engaging and enjoyable. You will be driving the truck most of the time though as it's the only car that can carry most things. +Upgrades are noticeable. I enjoyed replacing car parts besides going and picking up each individual bolt each time. +You can change your project car quite a bit via paint, rims, parts etc. Most of the fancy stuff does not come until mid-game though. To add to this though, you only get to REALLY customize the starting car. You don't get to pick a car to customize or buy a better car later. +It looks as though you can upload your own music in game to listen to through the radios. Never did it, but it appears the functionality is there. +Memes here and there. Nothing that will make you laugh out loud, but they are there nonetheless. +/- Learned a little bit more about cars since I had to look up what certain parts do since there are no descriptions on anything. Major Flaws: -Things disappearing/moving through solid objects such as your car… where you store things to travel. You may have some items in your trunk or cab and think they're safe since it's closed, but if you take a tumble off the road with your car, there's a decent chance you won't find it if it warps through the car. Doesn't happen every time, but it can definitely matter if you have car parts or valuable items inside your car. -Carpal tunnel/trigger finger nightmare (especially cutting wood which you have to do [please just let us buy wood]) or if you crash your car. Both the vehicles have wenches in the back that you can place to get your car unstuck but be prepared to click a bunch of times as the wench only moves the car an inch or two each click -No inventory system of any kind. Every object has to be picked up and moved separately, including each bolt, piece of firewood, etc. -Tools have no description as to what they do. A major component of the game is the Maple Syrup farm/Sugar Shack which requires maple trees on your property. Trees do not naturally grow and must be planted by pruning a full-grown tree using the Punning Loppers bought at the Gas Station. This is not explained or suggested through any text at all. Little descriptions while hovering over tools would be a huge QoL improvement. Minor Flaws: -There is a map, and it’s terrible. I understand not having an icon for the player, but it took me a while to understand where my home because things are not labeled in any intuitive way or what’s actually at the location (e.g. the gas station is just marked as “10/10” and your house is marked “Roulotte” on the map). -Unable to purchase gas before or after the gas station is close. This includes ALL weekend. Wouldn’t be an issue if you didn’t only have 1 gas can. -Saving fast-forwards time by ~3.5 hours. In a game where stores are only open during specific hours makes this mechanic more annoying than it should be. -Barren world. 99% of your travel will be from you home to town until mid-game and then it drops to 95%. This route contains 0 NPC cars until you get to the paved road and has one of the sharpest turns in the game to keep it interesting I guess? You’ll also begin to notice the cars have the same pop-in locations while you’re driving. -Zero point to making Poutine's (Food) at home when you can. The amount of fries needed to make ONE is $40 (can sell a bag for $200 and you need 20% of that) when you can buy a poutine in town for $5. -Be prepared to use the wiki for this game as there are lots of things you will not know because it's not explained at all. There are goals in your shack, but they are quite ambiguous such as "Build a garage". It doesn't say that you need to go talk to your brother every day until your relationship reaches 25 and then he'll offer to build your garage and that's only one example. -At night, time seems to go about 5 times faster than during the day which is pretty inconvenient if you plan on doing any racing which starts at 22:00. -Currently there are only 3 people to race. -There needs to be something to do while you wait for syrup. I found myself sitting looking the fire in the sugar shack while filling barrels because everything is too far away to really go do and still keep the fire stocked. Final Thoughts: At this stage in Early Access, I'd rate this game a 6 as it's a version 0.336 and has a long way to go. The overwhelmingly positive reviews are quite deceiving, even for an EA game and it seems as though it's only due to the games meme-y nature. I look forward to replaying this game in probably 2-3 years and seeing if any major QoL improvements have been made.Show moreShow less
Mon Bazou, is an unpolished poo. Rough around the edges, corners have no hedges. Map is small, the trees are tall, no invisible wall. Set in a sea on some islands, the land is full of landscapes with varied highlands. Terrain is both tarmac and gravel, when you set out on your travel. Pick up some fuel or maybe a tool. Work on your carriage, turn it into a monster emerging from the garage. Remove the rust, clear off the dust. Retrieve your front bumper from a metal graveyard, delivering the pizzas across town is no longer made hard. Plant a seed, grow some weed. Fill your face at quite a pace. Tap into a Maple tree, $200 per barrel is quiet a fee. Cut them down, deliver the logs into town. Stair into the mirror as a vampire, their is no character model or attire. The truck bed is a bouncy castle, stuffing as much stuff into the cabin is quite a hassle. We need some straps, or a locking mechanism perhaps. You can own a wrench, the voice actors are french. What else can I say, download the game and play today!Show moreShow less
the save feature is counter-intuitive and turned this game into a real job.Show moreShow less
So, you want to buy Mon Bazou right? And you want to know the pros and cons all from one review right? Well, you're at the right place! First, I want to mention that I've watched a lot of Mon Bazou content, not on purpose, but just when I'm bored. I decided to pick up the game during the Summer Sale (thx steam) and I think I've managed to get a hang of most things. Pros: - IT'S FREAKING FRENCH CANADIAN! - Many ways to make money [selling firewood to Francis, delivering pizzas, making maple syrup, street racing, dealing weed, etc.] - HUGE selection of customizations for (almost) all vehicles [engine swaps, turbos, transmissions, suspensions, accessories, etc.] - Progression is rewarded well [friendship levels, the junkyard, street racing, etc.] - Creative ways of solving issues [Gilles will help you find stuff that you lost (glitches or not), Martin will take you into town (if you softlock yourself), etc.] - Fast nights [there's an option in settings that, when checked, speeds up the night cycle] - Cheats [allows the player to turn the game into a sandbox if they just want to build cars] Middle Ground: - Simpler car mechanics [similar to The Long Drive rather than My Summer Car] - No oil, coolant, battery level, or routine maintenance implemented [easier for most, but breaks realism for some diehard car guys] - The duration of sleeping time [it's based on how tired you are, so if you go to bed with only a marginally full bar, you'll wake up in the middle of the night in pitch black. You have to click the bed again to skip the night cycle.] - Brakes [the brakes on both the truck and Konig are godawful at the start of the game. Points for realism I guess, but still very annoying] - Prices [everything is very expensive, including gasoline, since you can't use the regular gas and have to use premium. It takes a long time to make enough cash to have any meaningful impact on any vehicle. Once again, annoying, but realistic.] Cons: - Horrendous physics engine [parking the truck on a hill with the handbrake on will still cause it to slowly creep down said hill, even more so with stuff in the bed] - Parts just fall off unrealistically [if you don't put every single bolt into place on a certain part, that part will fall off of the car as soon as the player sits down in the driver seat] - Saving the game is a pain in the ass [to save the game, you HAVE to either play the game console, or use the computer. If you're in town without your game console and you need to exit the game, tough luck. You have to drive back to your house just to save.] - No official multiplayer :( If this review was helpful, please rate it so! I'll try to add stuff as it comes to my head, and if anyone has any suggestions on what to add, leave a comment!Show moreShow less
Fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ save system. Make it less tedious... Its cute the first time, but after 40 hours of playtime its just annoying. Implement an autosave feature or something. I just lost 4 hours progress because of a crash.Show moreShow less
my summer car but it doesn't wanna make you kill yourselfShow moreShow less
