Very nice game from an artistic perspective and some quite nice story elements. Get a lot of very similar emotions as the first game, although this is much shorter. First game took me just under two hours to beat (including expansions), this one only took 70 minutes to beat the main story and just 7 more minutes to finish the expansion. I think the game would be much better with more levels and some more intricate puzzles, has a lot of potential with the two player element. The reason I don't recommend this game is how little content there is. The content that is there is very good, but across both games there really isn't much here, and no real replay value with itShow moreShow less
The game is great, although I feel like the port could've been implemented a bit better, as the clicks don't always feel too responsive. Takes about 1.5h to completeShow moreShow less
It's more of the same, with some new twists, just what you would expect from a sequel, or an expansion, if you will, with one problem, which I didn't think would be that big of a deal, but as I kept playing, it got worse and worse. It's really easy. This is a puzzle game, it's not supposed to be "click somewhere and watch things move" kind of a cinematic experience. For a game, there has to be some challenge. And most of the time, it feels like you're playing a tutorial. The first game managed to keep the balance brilliantly, where I had plenty of "aha" moments, where I would briefly get stuck, but here, I've flown through the game without ever really having to think about anything. That's boring. The game isn't bad, it's just disappointing, because I see the ideas and creativity, but it seems like the devs were really afraid this time and made sure even a demented grandma, or a 6 years old would be able to do most of the levels. And in return, the gameplay suffers, because getting the difficulty right is essential in a game, where the core gameplay is the king. I enjoy the world, but I'm not playing this just to see shapes move. The music and presentation remains awesome - but that alone is never enough of a reason to play a game. Almost everybody mentions it, but nobody has the guts to call the developers out for it - well, I'm doing that right now. I want a sequel, but it should be closer to the first game. If it's going to be in the spirit of the second game, where I can get through it without turning my brain on, I'm not gonna bother.Show moreShow less
Monument Valley 2 is just as beautiful as the first game, but easier and much shorter. This time around it had a stronger and more in-depth narrative than the first game about a mother and daughter. The game revolves around Ro and her young daughter as the mother takes the child through the mysterious world. Then the child has to embark on her own journey. It felt like an initiation process for the women. Game mechanics were similar to the first one with a few new tricks thrown in. But the difficulty suffered as it is much easier to complete. There are 14 short levels with a bonus chapter thrown in supporting the forests. I would advise to buy this game in a package with the first one or on sale. Let's hope the devs will include some DLC's! 8/10Show moreShow less
A bug has been in the game on the Lost Forest level for over two years now, and even after those two years (with a post saying it would be patched 'as soon as possible'), the bug persists with the only solutions requiring the player to utilize specific workarounds to get past said point. Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure 'as soon as possible' is under two years time.Show moreShow less
Shorter and much easier than its predecessor but still funShow moreShow less
A step down from the first game - feels more auto-pilot, shorter, easier, overall less inspired. Just a very thin product trying to keep the magic of the original going.Show moreShow less

If you liked the first game, this is more of the same. Pretty colors and nice music... but overall I feel like this is a downgrade in every way from the first. It doesn't offer anything new in the way of puzzle mechanics, the levels are all much shorter, the puzzles are generally easier, (I didn't a single time have to stop and think about what I was going to do it basically autosolved most of the time) and the thin story is a little bit weaker. I finished this game in under two hours when the original took almost four. There was some potential for new possibilities with two character puzzles, but the game never really took advantage of it except in the final stage, and that was very brief. And none of the levels were as stand out and memorable as the unfolding box level in the first game or the long areas with the block companion, the atmosphere never matched the descent into the dungeon, or met the same joy, and frustration, of dealing with the bird. I don't want to give this a negative review, its too pretty and cheap for that, and it's fine as at atmospheric thing... but I notice many of the reviews are negative and have the same criticism, but they're giving it a pass anyway. I originalyl gave this a positive as well but.... it's just not as good as the first. I was looking forward to the third game, having immediatley fallen in love with this franchise... and now I'm not. if you already played the first one this just doesn't offer anything interesting or new. Don't get it unless you LOVED the first, its overall a downgrade.Show moreShow less
