Look, this game is absolutely beautiful. The music is relaxing, the vibe is chill, and the visuals are straight out of your favorite childhood storybook. But given the fact my playtime is at 90 minutes and I feel like I've been playing for 4 hours and that I'm only apparently 1/4 of the way through the game, I cannot in good conscience recommend this at full price. It is absolutely a chore to play and with every successive episode, the chore list gets longer and longer. I wish I actually liked the game part of this game, but I find myself continually frustrated by the languid character movement and overly ponderous tempo of the moment-to-moment gameplay.Show moreShow less
Easily one of the best games of recent years and destined to be a new classic of the indie scene. It's an unforgettable experience full of little nuances to discover in every game session. It's amazing that it's all done by one person. 10/10Show moreShow less
I wishlisted this game back in 2021, when I was still in college. My taste might have changed a lot since then. The visual is great, a joy to look at. But playing until chapter 5, I couldn't help not paying attention to this game anymore to the point where I almost fell asleep. I was really surprised to see this game on the new releases section of the front page and bought it on day 1. But I just can't be bothered to keep on playing anymore since the game is so boring. I would not recommend this game for those who are looking for engaging gameplay. I do recommend this game though for anyone who is looking to chill and has the ability to appreciate the finer detail of the game's art. I really wanted to like this game, but unfortunately, I want more excitement in my games nowadays. I will not refund this game out of respect of the creator's craft and the fact that this was a 1-man project.Show moreShow less

The visuals are stunning, the sound design is beautiful. But the gameplay is simply too repetitive and shallow for a game this long. The message of the game is great, but I would have loved it to be 1/3 of it's length and less clunky mechanics.Show moreShow less
Rarely does a person, in their gaming lifetime, come across something like Naiad. The indie landscape is so vast and varied and colorful that, on the outside, you would see Naiad's trailer, read its premise, and chalk it up to another project about returning to nature, with an eco-friendly message. But my god, is Naiad so much more than that. Firstly, its presentation SINGS. The simple 2D graphics paired with this chalky texture and beautiful bright colors soothe the eyes like nothing I've played before. Well, except maybe Journey. The controls are tight, so exploring the waterways of both nature and city adds to the playful, flowy movement that's easy to get lost in. You can tell the developer was aware this NEEDED to be perfect for a full experience. Secondly, the soundscapes... oh my god, the soundscape. The- the LOGS IN THE WATER, AS YOU DIVE TO PASS UNDER THEM- the sound is identical to how you hear everything when you actually dive, and it was the most satisfying thing. The animals, the wind, rain, traffic, countryside... each region felt very much alive, there's that much attention to detail. The soundtrack is also one of my favorites this year. It's crafted with so much love and care (Labyrinth might be my favorite track of all). Lastly, the gameplay. While the loop is really repetitive (guide ducklings to mother duck, guide birds to specific branches, get frogs on lilypads, collect things, etc), I believe it's with the intention to provide comfort and familiarity, because the scenery changes quite often. So, if you're looking for a varied gameplay loop or high stakes, you won't find them here. Naiad is a singularly meditative experience. It invites you to absorb the scenery and sounds. To adopt a slower, simpler life, where just existing is enough. On top of it, it teaches you about the circle of life and love for all things, without really using much dialogue in all of its playtime. The game became a part of my barely existing bedtime routine for several days, and it melted so much of my anxiety away; so I cannot recommend Naiad enough, based on how anti-stress and zen it is. P.S. In between playing sessions, I went through the developer's Bluesky, and the dedication to this game is astounding. A single person coded, did the art, RECORDED SOUNDS WHILE GOING OUT FOR NATURE WALKS, composed the music, and helped troubleshoot whenever someone had an issue or a bug. This game is textbook one person's labor of love, and I am so happy it exists. I'll repeat: Naiad SINGS with its presentation, and its developer is one of those admirable humans who treats video games as a genuine art from. HiWarp, thank you for existing. And thank you for bringing Naiad into the world.Show moreShow less
Pleasant enough with a nice art style, but shallow game play keeps me from recommending it. But if you just want a super-chill experience, you might like it.Show moreShow less
I watched the trailer for this last year and have been DYING to play ever since. I come back to my wishlist every once and a while and today I was so excited to see that I could play it!!! I've played for about an hour and so far I absolutely love it! The soundtrack mixed with the ambient sounds makes for beautiful and serene gameplay. It's a perfect game if you're looking to relax and unwind. I'm excited to see all it has to offer but I absolutely recommend checking it out!Show moreShow less
I really want to like this, but this feels way to sluggish with uninteresting puzzles which repeat way too often without meaningful changes along the way. Also, 20€ is way too much for this kind of game.Show moreShow less
