Yes. Single-player is listed as a Steam category.
What is distinctive about its visuals?
The description says the game was built with a new graphic style.

Our Verdict
Critic score and game lifespan fully split here — a 64 at launch became a six-year marathon
The fascinating thing about Shinobi Striker is the crack running through it between score and survival. At its 2018 launch the critic average sat at 64 — OpenCritic filed it under "Weak," 53 outlets recommended it just 9.6% of the time, bottom 25%. By that line it should have gone cold early. It didn't: six years on it's shipping a tenth season, sitting at 84% positive across more than forty thousand Steam reviews, with a player peak still reaching the low thousands in 2024.

That crack isn't a contradiction; it just means the press and the players measured with two different rulers. The press measured launch completeness and content volume — and on both, Shinobi Striker flunks. The players' ballot runs on another set of metrics: is the core loop durable, is the community alive, does the operation keep going — and on all three it stands. An honest review has to hold both faces at once: this isn't a one-and-done single-player game, it's an online competitive ecosystem that survived on six years of updates.
Who should buy, who should walk — first ask whether you have a squad and can stomach the thinness
Down to the practical question: should you buy it? If you're a Naruto fan with a fixed set of friends to play with, willing to get on a mic, and you love the feel of running up walls and across rooftops in a teamfight while slowly grinding out a jutsu combo all your own — then it was made for you. This is its home turf and you'll have a great time.

But if what you want is a complete single-player Naruto story, or you're used to mindless solo-queue fun and can't tolerate thin content and a daily-login operating shell — you'll probably be let down, and you should walk. A lot of the negativity really traces to a mismatch of expectations: people arrived carrying a Storm-style appetite for single-player narrative and found a game with no intention of telling them one. See it as the team-based online competitive game it is first, then decide whether to step in.
The smartest way in, and why nothing in the Naruto lineup quite replaces it
Last, on version and placement. The list price skews high — it launched in the $60 bracket — but it's discounted year-round, having gone as low as 75% off historically. For a newcomer the smartest entry is to pick it up when the price is right and stack it with the recent seasonal content that's already been made free — you get most of six years of accumulation for very little, sidestepping the double resentment launch buyers swallowed of thin content plus paid seasons. As for where it sits among Naruto games: its irreplaceable hook is welding the wire kunai's three-dimensional team scrum to a freely unlockable, mix-and-match jutsu pool — that brand of vertical team combat is one of a kind in the Naruto catalog. Its most direct rival is Bandai's own Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, which runs thicker content and a more durable solo mode but keeps its combat on a flat plane. Shinobi Striker bet on design instead, building the fight vertical and purely team-based — bolder, newer. Two different trades: want content depth, go to Xenoverse; want this specific three-dimensional scrum, Shinobi Striker is still the only one handing it out.
In the end this is a game of unusually sharp edges — its strengths and its flaws are both loud, and neither one hides the other. The wall-running, jutsu-stacking combat is genuinely special; the launch content, the solo grind and the operating shell are genuinely rough. What it asks of you isn't patience with mediocrity but clarity about appetite: decide which half of that ledger you actually came for, and you'll never feel misled. Come for the fight with a regular squad and a mic, and even six years on it still delivers something that nothing else on the market does.

Do not buy this game, the game is dead, you will not be able to play online and there is barely any offline content. I repeat, do not buy this game, not worth your money!Show moreShow less
Alright people listen up. I've read the reviews. i saw the negativity as well as the positivity and i took it all with a grain of salt. So to all those who have an interest, please read this carefully, because i think that this will be the most honest review you will read. I took the risk. So... there is no plot. Theres no story to be had, and YOU as you make your shinobi are faceless ninja number 7512. There is nothing expected of you. You are not special. Go in knowing this. The story mode - the way to unlock missions - are to find like 8 people in the small hub world and do their personal solo missions. You can beat the "story mode" in one sit down with general ease once you find your mojo. But this game isnt about the story. Think of the story mode as a LONG tutorial and you wont be disappointed. There are a good like... 5 or 6 maps with both a day and night cycle. A Forest area, Sand area, A Rain area, Cloud Area, a Town area and perhaps one more. Theres PVP, PVE, Base Capture, Capture the Flag, and a straight up 4v4 brawl. i may be missing one or two more modes, but this is what i ran into during play. You as a character can choose 4 different styles of combat gameplay. Assault, defence, ranged, and healer. You can only create one character. You can freely change it at any time so theres no need to reset, which is nice. Character customization is laughable, but enough to make you feel at least somewhat "unique". There is quite a bit in the way of clothes or other cosmetic items cuz there are over 4000 pieces of recycled color-coded versions of what you can find. The only colors you can change are specific to your avatar (i.e. Hair, eyes, skin, height). After a good 17 hours i only picked up about 100 different pieces and i managed to buy the shop out in game. These clothes have different stats to help boost and aid your fighting style, so do take a look at them. The gameplay is solid and smooth. And yes, i consider this to be the Dragon ball z Xenoverse Naruto bare-bones first edition. Its like an early access game waiting for more. Is it worth the $50? Well no. I'd recommend waiting until it drops to $30 or lower, but i do not regret my decision to get the basic non-deluxe edition. Cuz why would you? you can unlock everything within the game for free. Now, beware For those who have spent more time in here will have the jutsus to pull off some real ♥♥♥♥♥ tactics. To say that one class in particular is broken means that either you simply cant get past their defenses, or you're still too green. For example, The attacker fighting style can completely wreck your ♥♥♥♥ if you dont know how to defend yourself, block, or parry. Healers with the right jutsu can make the rest of your team effectively immortal, but can practically get one-shotted. Defence types will camp the ♥♥♥♥ out of important areas and are tanks, but are slow and cant keep up with most of the party. And ranged units can be crafty snipers and it can be difficult to ground them, but they can get stunlocked easily. It WILL be frustrating at first, but as a level 1 i actually managed to completely curb-stomp a level 60. Levels are basically pointless. At least to me. You just simply have to get good. Overall i find this game addicting. Im having fun. Even if im losing the PVP half or most of the time. The real purpose of this game is to play with others. It accomidates to all basic playstyles and preferences for a technical MMO. So here is the TL;DR version Pros - Fun gameplay, solid response time, good controls. - Customization of your avatar - Loot loot loot. So much loot - Varying playstyles - Levels/ranks dont matter as much as you think Cons - Limited Customization. No sliders, No large pallet color choice, Cannot change color of clothes - The Grind is real. Have the patience of a pokemon trainer lookin for shinies. - Cannot buy Jutsus. - Not a lot of in game items to purchase upon completion of the "storyline". - Not enough variant weapons for each class. - Not enough variant Maps to explore or play in. Give us at least 10. - Not enough Missions. Give us at least like 15 for each rank. - No Storyline. So would i recommend this game? Yes. But again, not for the price its currently sitting at. Once some more DLC comes out and if these cons are managed, then absolutely. But if you're going to price your game at $50, you need to have more content. Edit: Keep in mind, i made this review in September of 2018, so i've edited some previous points out since i'm no longer sure about it. Feel Free to ask a Panda anything.Show moreShow less
This review is purely based on my personal experience as a solo player. Pros You can build your customized ninja with 4 different roles. Fun to play with friends or as first time. Plenty variety of characters “Masters” with their signature moves included that your ninja can learn. Also their 2D art it’s pretty cool. It’s fun to run over the walls and jump from them since your ninja will always use Chakra concentration automatically. Some events from time to time and you get cool stuff. Interesting weapons with different effects and combos. 2 Game modes for groups 4 vs 4 Capture the flag Combat Capturing spots Protect/Attack an objetive And 1 game mode for solo players (Survival) Music is loyal to the anime. A lot of emotes to mess around the in lobby. It's cheap when it's on sale. Cons First and most important, the game is full of hackers so don’t waste your energy complaining about it. Toxic community, you must be wondering why. The hackers come as “Clans” and most of times they are playing in group. So if you see someone spamming ultimates or throwing like 3 Madara katons at you. Close the game and don’t get stressed. It’s imposible to report a hacker, you would need to do it before the match so you must have played with him before and know that he will hack. On top of that devs don’t care about they hacking. Even if you make a report thru BANDAI, they won’t do anything about it as they are not the developers so they can only send a report to Japan and hopefully it would be reviewed one day. (I reported a hacker 3 months ago and until this date I’m still encountering him as normal) Game is Pay to win. You can still play and have fun but if you want to actually “Win” you must have the DLC master jutsus on meta-game. You can’t get rid of “Premade groups” and they are everywhere, so if you are a solo player, this is not your game. Premade groups can join even in “Survival” which is a game mode where everybody is an enemy, but Clans have the bad habit of Teaming up against skilled players, just because they can’t win as solo players. So unless devs add a 1 vs 1 mode, this will continue happening as normal. There are not enough maps making the game repetitive and most of them have a “Dead line” marking the limits in which you will fall. But this became a mechanic in which players can opt for jutsus that impale you against the wall, that way you cannot move until you fall into the Dead line, dying like this is pretty silly on a ninjas game and shouldn’t be a meta-game mechanic because there are some people abusing this exploits in some maps spots. The weapons on meta-game have to be earned from a gacha system and is not friendly, they have a system to purchase Moonlight scrolls but those have the same low possibilities to get an “SS” rank item as the others (I purchased many once and got only “A” rank stuff) So don’t waste your money here, not even by temptation. This is a negative review unless they get rid of the hackers, so get to it punks.Show moreShow less

The Devs aren't acknowledging the ''hacker'' problem, as long as they don't I can't recommend to anyone and won't buy the incoming season pass 4. In the last 30 minutes in Survival Mode I've encountered someone that did his ultimate 3 times in a row within 10 seconds and another person that had access to Kamui Climax(a defensive jutsu) from his attack class character PLUS a tracking bonus that was constantly active, exactly the same tracking and speed strength as the Swift Step buff. I want to add that there are NO report options in the game whatsoever. I've had the game since its release, this problem wasn't visible at first, now people have caught up to the fact that they can cheat without any punishment.Show moreShow less
This game motivated me to do better things in life, such as wanting to make money and spending it on shinobi striker dlc's. My ex wife divorced me and broke up with me and left me for my brother. It's been 8 been years since the last time they talked to me and playing shinobi striker helped me come over my depression. The way Hinata looks at Naruto is the way I look at my PC and makes me happy that I bought this game. My mother kicked me out the house after the divorce because she said I need to start my own life without her and her co worker she has affairs with. She doesnt think I know that because she thinks all I do is play shinobi striker. Now its time for me to start love arc... I need to find my new hinata in a world full of sakuras. Thank you shinobi strikerShow moreShow less
It's entirely multiplayer based, but doesn't have a playerbase. Imagine Xenoverse without any of the singleplayer content. I don't recomend this game, even for the $14 price tag it's on sale at right now.Show moreShow less
