Do not buy this game if you value your time and progress. I was permanently banned after 150 hours of completely legitimate gameplay with no specific explanation. I was grinding Street Kings and Open Athletics to complete an in game specialization quest that 2K themselves put in the game, and their automated anti-cheat system flagged me for it. I submitted a detailed appeal explaining exactly what I was doing and identifying legitimate background programs like Discord and a RAM optimizer that may have triggered their system. Multiple support agents responded but none of them ever told me what specific rule I violated despite asking multiple times. My appeal was denied with a copy paste response that didn't address anything I said. I am currently in the level 30s on the Season 6 battle pass without spending any money which shows consistent legitimate gameplay throughout the entire season. None of that mattered to their support team. Their anti-cheat system punishes legitimate players for simply playing the game as intended. Their support team is unresponsive and dismissive. If you get falsely banned there is essentially nothing you can do about it. Play at your own risk.Show moreShow less
Let me make something very clear. If you play this game for the single player campaign, you will not be disapointed. The gameplay is excellent. The balance between human and computer is extremely well balanced. I have not purchased a 2k NBA game for many years based on the reviews. I have skipped form NBA 2K13 to NBA 2K26, and despite a few minor issues off the court, the rest is so much better. If you are reviewing online play, I cannot comment.Show moreShow less
This game is legit trash. Been playing 2k for over a decade and every year it just gets worse. The AI in the game is perhaps the most offensive aspect of the game, save for the never-ending force feeding of micro transactions. Defensive switches are mindless and completely against what real basketball is like. Your teammates wont shoot the open looks, but in double coverage will attempt a step back that bricks off the backboard. Your player will randomly move in a direction you dont input. The list goes on. The game makers should be ashamed and 2K should never be allowed to make another game. I hate with every ounce of my being the fact that this is the only available NBA game and it makes me sick to think we are stuck in this neverending nightmare. Ill never spend another dime on this franchise until another publisher takes over. I hope everyone involved in the creation of this monstrosity has a pillow thats hot on both sides, and has sand between their cheeks for the rest of their miserable lives.Show moreShow less
Sometimes I boot up 2k, pop open a bottle of wine, take my clothes off and just shoot around with LeBron for hoursShow moreShow less
Genuinely a hostile experience. That's the mantra. That's the title. 2k26 at its core is fine enough. It's one of those games that's satisfying until it's not. You get the hang of it, the execution of a perfect three pointer, the effective screen and fades. The fun of being your own player, with your own stats, and your own skills, the fun of being the manager of your chosen franchise with a draft starting from the bottom with the current roster. But beneath that, the floorboards are rotten. I have countless complaints that I simply.. Cannot gather in their entirety, here. The game has an immense rubberbanding problem regarding difficulty. It's quite clear that in game modes like MyCareer, you're not meant to get ahead. You aren't meant to easily increase your stats. For those who don't know; you use VC to level up. You might think.. whatever, right? Good, that gives you a reason to grind. You'd be wrong. Very. There's a very strict economy around your skill set. What it takes to upgrade it. And how much VC it takes to upgrade something. That also means, the higher you go in that stat, the more it costs to do so. Keep in mind, you start as a 62 overall out of the gate. You can imagine this inflates greatly as time goes on. Early on, you also.. don't make a large amount of VC to consistently, or drastically improve your player. There are other complaints that arise, like.. why are hard-caps put on my player for not being tall? The shortest height for SG is 6'0". And yet it caps interior defense to, what, 48? 49? Regardless of strength, so long as you're in the paint, you're not blocking anything. I was hoping for a Dragic, speedy shooter kind of build, but early on it's a nightmare. You might think 'oh, well change your height?' wrong. Again. You can't change your height. You can change.. your face. Literally. Post character creation, you can modify your face at any point in time. So the excuse most likely isn't 'Oh, well it would interfere with-' or 'Well, you can't modify anything so-' no. It's quite clearly designed that way.. So you start another character from the top. Make them taller. And either work your ass off all over again, or open your wallet for Daddy 2K so you don't feel the need to drive your head through drywall paying for the skills that don't improve on their own from in-game success and repetition. There's also the grading system? Which is absolutely abysmal? Defensive breakdowns for not taking part in defensive assignments that you.. weren't assigned to. Poor shot selection for.. anything that's a missed shot, which, is quite frequently early on. You're graded on every single action, and early on, it functionally limits you to either A: Suck. or B: be a piece of glorified furniture and function only in screens and assists. Because the CPU simply doesn't permit you to score. You also turn the ball over frequently. Which is something you cannot prevent unless if you have VC to increase the stat. Otherwise... 🤷🏻♂️ good luck on stopping that. The rubber banding also extends to limitations with who you're up against. The CPU prefers to put you up against high-tier scorers when you're a 62 overall. It won't hesitate to stack you against Donovan Mitchell, who, what, is a 94-96 OVR? They simply walk around you like an uninterruptable animation, I went up against Ant, DeRozan, Hardaway Jr, and for some reason, that's quite clearly not at all difficulty rubberbanding, I had the hardest time with Anfernee Simons and Egor Demin. ...Anfernee Simons and Egor Demin. This is also particularly hostile because much of these difficulties are artificial. It uses an arbitrary system to ensure you're not fluid. But.. How not fluid? How much? To what regard? Because the ceiling becomes oppressive when it's so low off the bat. A lot of these issues you can't *really* play around. You can't adapt, or outthink, because a lot of your skill is in your character, not you, leaving you kind of helpless in-game. if your OVR is low. That's also just my complaints for MyCareer. It translates universally throughout the game, but other modes have their own complaints. MyTeam has a horrible card inflation problem. It's very unlike madden, which is also predatory, yet somehow less so than this. You don't.. really get stuck in stages. You don't really feel the difference between a 94 and a 96 Overall. And early on, you'll likely get your hands on a 100 OVR card. 100 OVR's have A+ grades in each category, meaning once you get them? You really have no reason to upgrade or purchase other cards, or open packs unless if you.. simply want to see what you get. In the span of a week, my lineup was a 100 OVR. It cuts out strategy, too. You don't have players with different strengths and weaknesses to balance a team, or make it function in a certain fashion. You just get your 100 OVR team and you have nothing to compensate for, no styles to prefer, there's zero strategy. And even there, you *will get stacked against by the CPU*. MyNBA is probably, arguably the best mode. But the sliders are atrocious. Off the bat, you won't know what the hell anything stands for, because the titles of settings are arbitrary, and they offer no explanation. Even then? You will 100% get Sabonis or JJJ moving like they're morbidly obese AND stuck in quicksand, drained by the time they get to the other side of the court. This also creates a massive problem because the CPU abuses chucking the ball across the court to, I guess, one of their own players that discovered.. time travel? For a free two points. That's not including friendly defense not fighting for the paint, and centers not even bothering with rebounds. Player OVR's are generally questionable out of the box, too? It often prefers name value, or hypothetical potential. But lesser known, or lesser visible players like Pritchard sit in the 82 range. Pritchard. That just came off a 17 point average of a season, and had a single-game high of 42 points. Against the Cavs. 82 OVR. Even trade sliders are pretty abysmal out of the box. No I do not want Bogdanovic and Plumlee for Hardaway Jr. No I will not give you Sabonis and my First round pick for 35 year old Paul George. No, I will not give you Anthony Edwards for 37 year old James Harden, who will likely retire in an in-game month. Please stop sending me trade requests. I've never seen that name in my life, he's a 77 OVR rookie PG, and I'm not giving you Dean Wade and Kelly Oubre Jr. for him. It's not a good experience. I really wanted something to mess around with, with the season ending. And this genuinely wasn't it. I put 65 hours into it. That's because it's good. At first. Before you see the rot, and you don't really know what you're looking for. Then it starts to seep in, the more you understand how the game functions, you begin to understand where the cracks are, and how an absurd amount of the game is just.. hostile toward the player. I got this for thirteen bucks. It's not a horrible price, really. But I'd never spend over 18-20$ on it. That's the sheer ceiling, if I really had a basketball hankering. Otherwise? Ten bucks. If that. There's no real engagement. Three pointers are king. MyCareer soft-blocks you from having fun in plausibly deniable ways. MyNBA's sliders are wack. It's just overall weirdly miserable? I'd give it like.. A 6.7/10. It's serviceable. There aren't any basketball alternatives, either, so this is one of your few shots if you want an NBA game. But know it has a habit of blatantly smothering the player, before you go into it.Show moreShow less
Very good but make it crossplay so i can play with consol playersShow moreShow less
Solid game-play, I enjoy it more then 25. A fun little story that will attach you to your characters growth more. Still a 2k money grab, arguably one of the most greedy games. BUT you are getting a down-vote for this and only this: Why can't I have an option to skip the half-time shows & Inside the NBA. This would be easy to implement, and it's silly at this point.Show moreShow less
its alr but be careful bc pc cant crossplayShow moreShow less
This is my first 2K game. I took the plunge after getting baited by some friends. The basketball itself is decent. My issue is with everything else. Every element of this game feels tailor made to waste your time and squeeze you for money. The multiplayer menu is an open world for no reason other than to waterboard you with advertisements. Do your weekly chores at the Gatorade™ Fitness Center for in-game player power. Wear your State Farm hoodie for an XP boost. Watch this 2KTV MasterCard ad reel while you're in queue. Oh, you want to play pickup? Run across this entire sponsor-lined strip mall until you reach the Park, then WAIT IN LINE until the game in front of you finishes. ((!?!?) Once you're on the court, you'll realize pretty quickly that stats matter a ton in this game. As a new player, my character moved like an accountant with asthma compared to max level players. Shooting and blocking, which are mostly stat checks, become unreasonably difficult with a stat disparity. The game makes it very clear that there's an easy fix for this: spending money! A new player can move like LeBron in their first week if they're willing to swipe a couple times. This game relies heavily on timing. Perfect shots occur when you make a precise input at a specific time. When you're in the practice mode and getting familiar with the gameplay, shooting feels intuitive and fun. Unfortunately...introduce online latency into the equation and the whole system breaks. The muscle memory and timing you built up in the gym goes out the window, and shooting becomes an educated guess. And because latency is variable depending on the lobby, it feels impossible to get the timing down as a low level character. Lastly, no Crossplay support on PC. And because 2K has a console-dominant playerbase...this game felt dead. Like very dead. Your options for finding queues are waiting 10+ minutes to find an evenly matched team, or waiting 5 minutes for a game to finish up at the Park where you'll likely get dog walked by a team of max level players. If you must play this game, play it on a console. Probably a 3/10 game with the actual basketball being the only redeeming factor. Everything else was bad enough to convince me to never buy a 2K game again.Show moreShow less
