it's a simple matching/sliding game with colorful graphics, unintrusive audio, but even though it's the developer's 5th game, it still lacks some basic features like volume sliders, level numbers, level reset without going back to level select, or the ability to rotate things in the other direction with a right click. the amount of unnecessary clicking is ridiculous even with click & drag. level transitions look good and I like the subtle background changes as you get closer to or further from the solution, but I'd prefer if they went back to their roots and created more 'meaningful' puzzlers like zenge instead of stuff like this. 103 levels, can be done in 2 hours and you'll never think of it again, save for the tedium you came to expect after their previous game, scalak, except it kicks in here a lot sooner. also, you don't get to say on the store page that your game has full audio in 29 languages when it only has some background noise. same for subtitles in 29 languages if your game has zero text, let alone subtitles. you're lying about your product, misleading potential customers. there are better, often cheaper puzzle games, even by the same developer, might as well skip this or wait for 50% off and play something else in the meantime.Show moreShow less
Wow this game is great! Ever evolving puzzles, plenty of them. Very good presentation. Top notch!Show moreShow less
It's a serviceable relaxing puzzle game, but the developer has done better before with their other games. For whatever reason, this game just didn't really click with me -- I found it to be pretty damn difficult to the point of tedium. I often didn't feel like I was "solving" the puzzle at hand, just clicking-and-sliding until I brute forced a solution.Show moreShow less
The story of Hamster on Coke Games, the creator(s) behind OXXO is quite interesting. They didn't start out as brilliant puzzle game creators, like most of my favourite puzzlers do - their first two games, Zenge and Art of Gravity were pretty (in the case of AoG, really very pretty), but the puzzles themselves were not really remarkable. Then came the cooperation with Maciej Targoni (another Polish puzzle prominent) in the form of the brilliant PUSH, and it seems to have given the puzzle talents of HoC a significant boost. Scalak, their next game was very imaginative if a bit disjointed, and OXXO now displays the exact playful brilliance I've been missing from HoCG's work so far. OXXO is a shape-match type of puzzle game, with ever-evolving rules across the board - a tried and true formula, depending on the puzzles themselves. OXXO is full of little surprises and slight puns, and the difficulty is also decent for most of the journey. Visually, the game is just as pleasing as anything HoCG has done so far, so we seem to have a "best of both worlds" situation on our hands. With the evolution of the creators' puzzle design talents, I'm really looking forward to the next works from Hamster on Coke Games. Power to Poland! :)Show moreShow less
it feels like every single other puzzle games "hamster on coke" made, they didn't try to do something different again, there are better and different cheap alternatives you can find,if you played scalak or klocki before, you won't see anything newShow moreShow less
OXXO was by far the most challenging for me compared to the previous games (Zenge, Art of Gravity, PUSH and Scalak). Still an overall easy game like the others. Get it at a discount or as part of the Puzzle Box bundle. Kill some time and grow your smol brainShow moreShow less
It's serviceable, it just didn't leave much of an impression.Show moreShow less
