Pinball FX 3 is a continuation of a great pinball series, that has continued to grow in number of tables as well as improvements in game play and modes. I have played the full Pinball FX series and am not disappointed in how the game has progressed. Most tables from FX 2 have made the climb into FX 3, with the tables from FX 2 getting somewhat of a overhaul if there were issues with the table, so some of the problems/bugs with tables from FX 2 have been corrected. With 90 tables available, there is a wide selection of fun tables to pick from. There is however a little bit of a glut of Marvel and Star Wars based tables, which isn't horrible, but I would like to see more new fresh IP tables based on other movies, and non movie connected totally new concepts etc. Also, Zen studios has recently acquired the Williams pinball contract giving them a new base to make tables for. The tables so far have been good, but as an owner of The Pinball Arcade it's kind of not such a big thing to get the new tables on release. There are many modes to use in PB FX 3 and also a brand new style to have fun with that was not in PB FX 2. The single player now has goals to reach to "upgrade" your table with 3 different wizard power upgrades and passive upgrades, which will help boost your score. Each table now has a table mastery goal as well, that have you trying your best to max out 3 challenge type games (1 ball, five minute and survival) as well as getting better highs scores and the achievement for the table to try and max out the 200 points needed to "master " the table. Doing these things unlocks mastery rewards for the table that are pictures that are relevant to the table. You can also unlock backgrounds, avatar frames and badges as well. Other modes of game play include single player classic, which removes the new single player extras, hotseat and practice. Another new addition to the game, which is my favorite, is being able to have tournaments! Game on! All in all PB FX 3 can provide HUNDREDS of hours of gameplay, if you are so inclined, and with so many tables to play one will never get bored of it. I absolutely love pinball and even though I am not a pinball wizard, I can't get enough of it. I give this a 9 of 10 score and highly recommend it to pinball wizards as well as wannabe pinball wizards. See you on the leaderboards!Show moreShow less
FX3 could have been decent enough update even with the addition of the XP/leveling up mechanics to the tables that are required for maximizing your high scores. This was tolerable and even somewhat amusing to do for the first few tables but after playing a few more on top of that the novelty wears off and you quickly realize that the grind just gets in the way of enjoying the pure pinball experience (it isn't strictly required since there's a 'classic mode' but all the real competition is on the now regular mode, and unfortunately the level up mechanic is still active in this mode as well). The biggest issue with all this XP accumulation and leveling up is that it causes performance issues and random lag that in pinball means missed shots and needless gutter drains that are about the worst thing that can happen in this type of game where one single delayed input could mean the difference between a new high score or not. Multiply that by it happening continuously throughout your play session and its just a recipe for frustration. But at least there is hope that issue might get resolved with an update. My real beef with Zen is their abrupt removal of the FX2 dlc from the steam store which left my collection incomplete by 2 table packs and Rogue One (the newest tables basically). If you purchase them on FX3 you won't get them proactively activated in FX2 either. FX2 is still fully relevant in light that it runs much smoother and offers a pure pinball experience without the tacked on upgrade/leveling nonsense that is only there for those that have grown accustomed to mindlessly grind for anything that evokes a Pavlovian response and, quite importantly, doesn't require you to beg Zen to activate the cabinet mode (not that I use it but I've seen all the threads in the forum about this issue). One huge thing for everyone that likes to tilt their monitor to play in vertical mode is that they removed that option from FX3 for some inane reason so just for that alone FX2 is the clearly superior version. I got my pinball fix just fine with FX2 and FX3 just adds inconsequential content for the most part that is targeted at broadening pinball's appeal (doubtful) at the expense of their core niche costumers. Bravo. Here's your well deserved thumbs down.Show moreShow less
If you are a pinball fan and willing to overlook all the MTX, this is one of the best pinball games out there!Show moreShow less
DON'T DO IT Zen was purchased by a huge videogame conglomerate corporation that is, of course, shareholder-focused. The result? The best modern pinball franchise must be completely bought all over again... by YOU. Yes, you read it right, Zen has switched to the Unreal Engine, and the result? YOU PAY FOR ALL YOUR TABLES AGAIN. Didn't this happen when we all bought tables for the still excellent, highly re-playable, Farsight Pinball Arcade? Now it's happening AGAIN. To be fair, FX3 will probably work for years to come. The issue is, all new tables released after March 2022, only come out on the new platform. And until May 2023, you cannot even use Steam to GET the new platform. What a crock of dog poop. Screw these guys. Watch for legal action against the amazing volunteer work of the Visual Pinball and Future Pinball scenes by "Zen" lawyers... It's going to be the end of thee digital cabinet pinball modding scene for sure.Show moreShow less
This Game is pretty amazing. They have taken FX2 and vastly improved the tables in terms of vibrance, clarity and difficulty. It seems that almost all tables you have purchsed for FX2 will automatically transfer over to FX3. And the best bit : There is now a comprehensive set of multiplayer modes for both local and internet play. Could this game get any better ? I really don't think it could. There are also a perks and bonus addition for things like "for every 10 yards the ball travels you get X amount of points" or "the save ball feature lasts X% longer than normal". If you own any tables on FX2 you may aswell say goodbye to those as you will be unlikely to play them on there after you have tried them on FX3. The free included table is the same one as with FX 2 (Sorcerer's Lair) but it is just so much better. Great pinball experience, go play it.Show moreShow less
If you force me to post a review to get rid of the stupid overlay notice, my review will always be negative.Show moreShow less
Pinball FX3 is a great game, if you are into virtual pinball, I recommend playing it. Their new product (Hiding on Epic, where you can't review it) I would avoid it like a plague. You can NOT transfer your tables, they use a "ticket" system to buy things (but only in bundles, not exact amount needed), and there is input latency that is quite noticeable. Do yourself a favor, stay here on Pinball FX 3, and enjoy a good game.Show moreShow less

Not exactly a review, but a straight thumbs up instead: Pinball FX3 is awesome! If you like pinball, you need to play this game! There's a completely free table (Sorcerer's Lair) and you can test all other tables for a limited time, prioritizing to buy first the tables you liked the most. The prices for the table packs are very generous, and on sale they receive a large discount (and also, there are bundles on Humble Bundle from time to time), so you won't spend too much to complete your collection if you be patient. For those who are not familiar, the Pinball FX series is focused on arcade gameplay instead of simulation - all tables have crazy things that wouldn't be possible to do on a real table with real physics. Also, this third iteration is very focused on friendly competitions, with multiple leaderboards, diverse game modes, tournaments, weekly challenges, etc. There is also a local multiplayer mode, with its own local leaderboards. It's also worth mentioning that there's a very dedicated pinball community on Steam if you want to compete in a more serious way. Overall, you can't go wrong with Pinball FX3. There's still some issues here and there, but the developers (Zen Studios) are working hard to bring the best experience to the players.Show moreShow less
Zen Studios removed tables from FX2 and the whole FX2 pinball from the store without any warning or without giving players time to buy the tables they are missing. This makes it impossible to obtain 100% in that game. Who knows if they won't do it again in FX3. Also the blue stripes that indicate which DLC one already has are wrong. And finally the game does not run smooth. To be honest this company is absolute garbage. DO NOT PLAY EVEN FOR FREE.Show moreShow less
