The simple question everyone wants to have answered: Is this game worth buying? The answer is >>> NO <<< . First of all, it's the port of a 0,99€ phone app. Charging 14€ for that seems preeeeetty harsh to me. But hey, maybe it's actually worth the money? The game is an advanced version of the old Flashgame Pandemic II, which was a great game of it's time and I truly enjoyed playing it. Actually, that's the only reason I decided to get Plague Inc anyways. Now, Plague inc is a bit more advanced then Pandemic, no doubt. The mutations system ismore complex, the graphics and algorythms much superb... But it doesn't add much else.Once you figured out the basic route, the game is literallyjust clickclickclick-wait-win. Every single time. The different plague types only change that at a minimal level. Look at my game time. I havejust finished the game, unlocking the cheat plagues (those giving you godmode anti-cure or unlimited evolution points). How? Just by doing the same thing a dozen times over again, with every plague the game offered. And that's it. And they charge 14€ for that. Now, a big point for me was the Multiplayer mode. I could really see potential replayability value there... BUT it's not even remotely implemented yet. So, my resume: Great concept (duh, they imported it from a great and innovative old game). Fun gameplay. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ repetitive and no further content to keep you playing. In it's current state, 2-3€ sounds like a nice price. If they really go up ahead and add a GOOD multiplayer mode, I'll gladly change my review. But till then, don't buy this. PS: Quick update: They STILL didn't add the promised multiplayer, but instead keep throwing in 'more different plagues' that play usually exactly like any of the others, adding nothing new to the game. PSPS: 6 months later, they ACTUALLY added a multiplayer. Albeit I feel trolled by the fact it's not the 'human vs virus' multiplayer I was actually hoping for.Show moreShow less
Okay so everyone is asking for an update on my review so I just kind of threw the old one out! The game is now at a point where you have darn near everything you could want. Great graphics, excellent gameplay, it's what you had on your phone or wherever you played it. The graphics are a tad different and the future promises are quite nice! No real problems to speak of in my opinion now, the game used to have quite a few but now it's totally worth buying.Show moreShow less
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is fun but it gets old real quick. Biggest issue i have with the game is how almost every scenario can be won using the same tactic. Build up your resistance to cold and warmth, spread your disease to all of the hard to reach places through ports and airlines, and when everyone is infected, issue a kill switch. If ONE continent survives you lose. There's some scenarios that really challenges you on this tactic but 90% of the time its the best way to win. its still worth playing, you'll probably have fun with it, just don't expect much longevity or depth from it.Show moreShow less

The fact that I like this game shouldn't detract from the fact that I can't recommend it. This is a game meant to be played on a phone, and it shows. It is very one-dimensional and once you've figured it out (should take about 15 minutes at most) that's it. Sure there are levels and things to unlock, but the bottom line is that it should only be purchased on sale. I paid full price and I regret it. The rundown: -Fun, but the same way a single level of mario is. You can do it a few different ways and win. You can unlock things and play it again (in the same way) and win. Satisfying the first three times and not much more. -Educating, but not in a good or useful way. It gives legitimate details about pathogens but nothing else. Like reading the cliffnotes of "all about disease" -Entertaining in exactly the same way smallpox was, take that as you will. -Replayability is hugely limited due to the limited nature of the game. I'll admit to enjoying it the first two times through the rest of it wasn't so enjoyable. I know I only show a few hours of the game but that's all it takes. There's a basic strategy that takes you though twenty minutes of playtime and that's it. Buy it on sale and enjoy it but NEVER pay full price or you'll be left with the knowledge that you did nothing but pay for an undergrad to fail his midterms.Show moreShow less
Perfect time for a sale. I approve.Show moreShow less
This is a decent game with quite a bit of content as far as game mechanics goes. There's plenty of upgrades and different pathogens to choose from. The issue comes from one giant flaw in my opinion; there's only one strategy that really works. The game is basically a race between your pathogen's ability to wipe out the humans, and their ability to cure it. As soon as they notice the symptoms of your disease, they will begin to work on finding a cure. This can happen very early on and the more people you infect/kill, the harder and more fervently the humans will work to cure it. There are in-game "upgrades" you can purchase with your points to slow the humans, but they are laughably under-powered; reducing their progress bar by a measely 5-10% and costing you dearly in points. This might sound like a challenging mechanic to be conquered in an epic battle of wits, but it's not. The gameplay is very limited as far as thwarting the humans or slowing them down, only offering a few one-time-use options for reducing their progress bar. This is in leiu of the fact that should even one of the numerous island nations close their borders before they are infected, you just lost the entire game. This happens VERY often. Unless, as I mentioned above, you use the strategy below. The ONLY strategy I have found that really works is keeping your disease hidden from the humans by keeping it from presenting with any symptoms until 95%-100% of the population is infected. You then use all of your banked points and flood them into symptoms until your disease is incredibly lethal, and then sit back and watch. If this sounds boring, that's because it is. You are literally just sitting there looking at a screen for 10 minutes clicking around a few times. Pretty dissappointing for a game with so much potential. I really gave this one the old college try, but it retains its entertainment value for far less time than I spent playing it. $15 is better spent elsewhere.Show moreShow less
Remember Li Wenliang. Li Wenliang (李文亮; 12 October 1986 – 7 February 2020) was a Chinese ophthalmologist at Wuhan Central Hospital who on 30 December 2019 warned fellow colleagues about a possible outbreak of an illness that resembled severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), later acknowledged as COVID-19 on WeChat. He became a whistleblower when his warnings were later shared publicly. On 3 January 2020, Wuhan police summoned and admonished him for "making false comments on the Internet". Li returned to work, later contracted the virus from an infected patient and died from the disease on 7 February 2020, aged 33. Meanwhile, this game is banned by the Chinese government, because what is the real issue for them? Controlling the narrative. https://steamcommunity.com/games/plagueincevolved/announcements/detail/1723128189771746868 Here is the timeline of the outbreak on Wikipedia.Show moreShow less
Notice how most reviewers only have 2-3 hours of gameplay? Well, there's a reason for that. This game is bland. It's the same thing over and over again. Doesn't matter if you play bacteria, virus, bioweapon, or parasite. No matter what you start as, you well end up doing the same thing: getting cough and sneezing, upgrade water and air transportability, increase cold and heat resistance, get a single point into drug resistance and maybe a point into slowing research, wait until the whole world becomes infected, then upgrade to total organ failure and whatever else you choose to accompany your leathality. The real "trick" of the game is doing just what I said, but do it quickly. There is little to no challenge to it and there's no reason to deviate from a certain "be all end all" disease build unless you want to roleplay that your disease is unique which causes paranoid people to stay up all night ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ their pants. Regardless, you'll end up getting coughing, sneezing, and segway into total organ failure (and I know you will). The game costs more than the mobile version and has less content with little to show for. I know it's "unfinished," but these silly early access games keep biting me, and other gamers, in the ass. By the time the game becomes something fun or original, I would have already been left with a sour taste in my mouth with no want to play it again.Show moreShow less
